The Sketchy Fusion GPS “Dossier” Links Clinton Campaign To Media Narrative Engineers…

Things could get a whole lot more interesting if Kimberley Strassel is correct in her research and analysis of how the Clinton Campaign paid for the creation of the “Steele Dossier”, pushed it to the FBI, and then used their influence to generate media coverage of it.   There’s a lot more questions to be asked; a lot more.

The basic outline as it appears is:  Clinton paid for the sketchy dossier to be put together; then pushed it to the FBI (Sally Yates); who then used it to open a counter-intelligence investigation; which was then used to begin wiretaps etc. on Trump; while simultaneously reporters were fed information -from Fusion GPS- about the dossier and intelligence investigation; to start the Russian conspiracy narrative, using leaks within the intelligence investigation which were created by the dossier.

Byron York lays out the timeline and asks a similar set of questions.  Additionally, there are strong indications Fusion GPS paid journalists to promote the dossier narrative along with other stories.

Kimberley Strassel – The Steele dossier has already become a thing of John le Carré-like intrigue—British spies, Kremlin agents, legal cutouts, hidden bank accounts. What all this obscures is the more immediate point: The dossier amounts to one of the dirtiest tricks in U.S. political history. It was perpetrated by Team Clinton and yielded a vast payoff for Hillary’s campaign.

The Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign hired the opposition-research firm Fusion GPS in April 2016 to dig up dirt on Donald Trump. Fusion in turn hired former U.K. spook Christopher Steele to assemble the (now largely discredited) dossier. That full dossier of allegations wasn’t made public until after the election, in January 2017. And the media and Democrats continue to peddle the line that it played no role during the election itself.

“Details from the dossier were not reported before Election Day,” ran a recent CNN story. Hillary Clinton herself stressed the point in a recent “Daily Show” appearance. The dossier, she said, is “part of what happens in a campaign where you get information that may or may not be useful and you try to make sure anything you put out in the public arena is accurate. So this thing didn’t come out until after the election, and it’s still being evaluated.”

This is utterly untrue. In British court documents Mr. Steele has acknowledged he briefed U.S. reporters about the dossier in September 2016. Those briefed included journalists from the New York Times , the Washington Post, Yahoo News and others. Mr. Steele, by his own admission (in an interview with Mother Jones), also gave his dossier in July 2016 to the FBI.

Among the dossier’s contents were allegations that in early July 2016 Carter Page, sometimes described as a foreign-policy adviser to Candidate Trump, held a “secret” meeting with two high-ranking Russians connected to President Vladimir Putin. It even claimed these Russians offered to give Mr. Page a 19% share in Russia’s state oil company in return for a future President Trump lifting U.S. sanctions. This dossier allegation is ludicrous on its face. Mr. Page was at most a minor figure in the campaign and has testified under oath that he never met the two men in question or had such a conversation.

Yet the press ran with it. On Sept. 23, 2016, Yahoo News’s Michael Isikoff published a bombshell story under the headline: “U.S. intel officials probe ties between Trump adviser and Kremlin.” Mr. Isikoff said “U.S. officials” had “received intelligence” about Mr. Page and Russians, and then went on to recite verbatim all the unfounded dossier allegations. He attributed all this to a “well-placed Western intelligence source,” making it sound as if this info had come from someone in government rather than from an ex-spy-for-hire.

The Clinton campaign jumped all over it, spinning its own oppo research as a government investigation into Mr. Trump. Jennifer Palmieri, the campaign’s communications director, the next day took to television to tout the Isikoff story and cite “U.S. intelligence officials” in the same breath as Mr. Page. Other Clinton surrogates fanned out on TV and Twitter to spread the allegations.

The Isikoff piece publicly launched the Trump-Russia collusion narrative—only 1½ months from the election—and the whole dossier operation counts as one of the greatest political stitch-ups of all time. Most campaigns content themselves with planting oppo research with media sources. The Clinton campaign commissioned a foreign ex-spy to gin up rumors, which made it to U.S. intelligence agencies, and then got reporters to cite it as government-sourced. Mrs. Clinton now dismisses the dossier as routine oppo research, ignoring that her operation specifically engineered the contents to be referred to throughout the campaign as “intelligence” or a “government investigation.”

Making matters worse, there may be a grain of truth to that last claim. If the Washington Post’s reporting is correct, it was in the summer of 2016 that Jim Comey’s FBI obtained a wiretap warrant on Mr. Page from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. If it was the dossier that provoked that warrant, then the wrongs here are grave. Mr. Page is suing Yahoo News over that Isikoff story, but he may have a better case against the Clinton campaign and the federal government if they jointly spun a smear document into an abusive investigation.  (read more)

Well of course it is. We’re talking about Hillary Clinton after all. Hillary Clinton of the Obama administration; the most corrupt administration in the history of this country.

“The most corrupt administration in the history of this country”. Yes, it was an administration that was led by a man with a now proven false birth certificate and selective service card. It was led by a man who reportedly had twenty one social security numbers including one that was issued in Connecticut where he never lived. It was led by a man who lied about everything including his transgender wife and his adopted daughters.

And that happened to be the Obamas. The old man was related to Michael, if I remember correctly. And from there, they started doing more research on records like that.

It is my belief that Johnny come lately was used by Comey to hide that Comey already had the document and was using it against Trump.

Remember, he presented it as an example of the sleaze that is out there which could be used against Trump, and why Trump needed the valiant IC people.

So, in one meeting, it was used to suck up to Trump, while simultaneously using it to smear Trump, the leak, trying to use it to buffalo Trump into trusting the people who are using it to stab Trump in the back, while hiding the back stabbing by using McCain and company.

Shortly after the presidential election, Senator John McCain, who had been informed about the alleged links between Kremlin and Trump, met with former British ambassador to Moscow Sir Andrew Wood. Wood confirmed the existence of the dossier and vouched for Steele’s “professionalism and integrity”.[20] McCain obtained the dossier from David J. Kramer and took it directly to FBI director James Comey on December 9, 2016.[16][15]

In a court filing in April 2017, Steele revealed previously unreported information that in December 2016 he gave one more report to “the senior British national security official and sent an encrypted version to Fusion GPS with instructions to deliver a hard copy to Senator McCain…. Comey has confirmed that counter-intelligence investigations are under way into possible links between Trump associates and Moscow, and CNN has reported that the FBI used the dossier to bolster its investigations.”[22]

I think McCain was trying to provide cover for the FBI for being in possession of the dossier, and give the appearance it was a legitimate piece of intelligence. The FBI had used the dossier to gain FISA warrants related to the Trump campaign for quite some time, but NEVER thought they would have to explain to anyone how they came to have the phony information. Clinton was supposed to win. Again, I think that McCain tried to provide the FBI with a believable explanation for having the dossier.

Noted historian Roger Morris interviewed retired CIA officials who said that Clinton was an informant in 1969 when he unexpectedly returned to Oxford and organized anti-war rallies in October and November 1969 with the aid of Rhode Scholar Willie Fletcher. Fletcher was in the navy reserve at the time. In 1972, around the time of Watergate Fletcher would turn up in the Office of Emergency Preparedness where also worked Watergate burglar James McCord and a female lawyer who was fired by John Dean because of her association with a lawyer-pimp named Philip Mackin Bailley. Several serious books have connected Bailley to Dean’s wife Maureen and to a call-girl ring that operated out of the DNC/Watergate.

One of Bob Woodward’s earliest sources for info re McCord was somebody from the Office of Emergency Preparedness. Willie Fletcher was, like Bil Clinton a Yalie like Woodward.

Clinton appointed Fletcher to a major Federal judge position in 1999.

In 1971, the year Bill Clinton supposedly fell hard for Hillary Rodham, he turned down a top position with the McGovern campaign to co-habit with Hillary while she interned for a Hard Left law firm in Berkeley. Bill supposedly became a rambling tourist while Hillary wrote briefs for the Black Panthers. The late Christopher Hitchens relates, in his book No One Left to LIe to an incident in Golden Gate Park where Clinton sexually assaulted a liberal aide to a top ranking Bay Area leftist. Most likely, because of Clinton’s sick compulsions, he was leveraged by the CIA/FBI to inform on the radical left under the program Operation CHAOS. The director of Operation CHAOS was Richard Ober who sent his reports to the CIA and to John Dean at the White House.

Dean, a Georgetown alum like Clinton, most likely figured out who the informant was who was sending Bay Area data relating to the Black Panthers, Weathermen etc. Dean has been a fanatical Clinton defender (both) ever since he landed talking gigs on MSNBC around the time of the Lewinsky scandal. Dean actually wrote the foreward for Jerry Zeifman’s book (they were old friends who worked together on the House Judiciary Committee) and made media appearances with Zeifman. Dean though later threw Zeifman under the bus (a long pattern with this maggot) and became a fanatic for the Clintons. He is also allied with Clinton operative Sid Blumenthal. People should check out Dean’s strange devotion to all things Clinton on his Twitter feed.

Why was Hillary on the impeachment committee? Everything she did there was to suppress the true facts of the case. See call-girl theory of Watergate.

Robert Kennedy’s KGB handler was a KGB colonel, military intelligence officer, operating under TASS cover.

“[…] The KGB approach that clicked with the naïve Attorney General was the approach of a military intelligence colonel operating under cover as head of the Washington bureau of the TASS news agency. It may be useful to read ahead to the next chapter for the testimony of Ismael Ege, about the KBG’s use of TASS for operational cover….

…..In a classic piece of operational tradecraft, the KGB case officer, Georgi Bolshakov, represented himself to his target, Bobby Kennedy, as a “back-channel” conduit to the Kremlin. This is a common operational ruse, useful to convince otherwise wary targets that the information they share will go straight to the highest levels….

The superbly successful development of the Attorney General by a man who was clearly Soviet intelligence would seem shocking by today’s counter-intelligence standards. At the time, evidently the Kennedys could do no wrong. Even today historians writing of this espionage operation give Bobby Kennedy an unwarranted benefit of the doubt.

Andrew, discussing Bobby Kennedy’s use as an influence agent, says that Bobby seemed to be, “forgetting that he was dealing with an experienced intelligence professional who had been instructed to cultivate him,” And that “the president’s brother became convinced that ‘an authentic friendship grew’ between him and [the KGB officer].” […]

However, the relationship between Bobby and Bolshakov is known. Bolshakov’s true status is known. We know what KGB officers do. We know how they operate. We know their operational goals. We know what Bolshakov told Bobby. We know the story that Bobby believed—he had a “back channel” to the Kremlin to avoid diplomatic sclerosis. We know that Bobby eventually realized he’d been used. And we know that none of the American players ever admitted the whole truth.

Bobby told the Russian ambassador that if it became publicly known that he had accepted a deal with the Russians to remove U.S. missiles from Turkey in exchange for the Russians removing their missiles from Cuba it “could cause irreparable harm to my political career in the future.” […]

HIllary was an Alinsky adherent and a Communist who infiltrated into the DC political scene as a lawyer secretly dedicated to undermining the government and US Constitution. Bill was her perfect partner, a political opportunist who turned to the left while a student at Oxford, and who later after returning to his home state, was smart enough to see through the good ole boy network in Arkansas and how to get into it.

Both Hill and Bill were very subversive people and discovered the mother load in Little Rock and how to mine it no matter what the cost. They practiced in ruthless Dirty politics, bribery and corruption, what ever it took to get their way they used it. The Whitewater land scandal was just the tip of the iceberg for the two world class grifters. Gunning running for the CIA from Mena, funneling money to the Contras and hiding it all was all part of the Clinton’s domain.

Arkansas was just the warm up for their next fifty years of crime in Washington. The Clinton’s are the ultimate “piece of work” and the greediest and dirtiest people ever to occupy the Whitehouse. Both should be in Federal prison.

Now, think of the day July 27, 2016. Trump makes a joke or exageration at the press conference and asks the “Russians” to find Hillary’s emails. Remember the reaction that got in the press when it was a seemingly funny and innocuous statement?

Now we know why. The press a that point probably already was given the first installment of Fusion’s work. It drove the coverage.

I really don’t know how to “say” this, but if anyone has been watching what George Webb has been putting together — it is ALL there. All of it. How sensitive we have become to be labeled a “conspiracy theorist” — it makes us hide!

So for me, none of this is surprising. None of it. What is actually surprising is that many are surprised.

This is just the surface. It is a skim of the top. There is so very much more.

I have no faith, unfortunately, in Jeff Sessions to be the Pit Bull that is needed at this time.

And, I somehow feel guilty for having any negative thoughts about Jeff Sessions — for at one time (long ago) I so wished he were my state senator. I had felt so highly of him then.

Jeff Sessions is a good man. As such, he is also not ruthless.

What is needed at this time is someone who is honorable & ruthless at the same time. I don’t know who that person could be.

Kinda like that ugly witch Ginsberg, yes? Nobody has pancreatic cancer and lives years and years and years like she has done.

Is there a cure or at least a very good drug that these self-styles “elites” get that we peons are denied? My dad is three years out from his diagnosis of colon cancer. He’s gone through chemo, interstitial lung disease secondary to chemo (the pulmonologist said he’d never heard of a patient in all of his years who lived after getting interstitial lung disease after chemo. Dad is the first.)

I want dad to have this miracle treatment of the “elites”. I want this old, honorable Korea-era Air Force vet to see 94 just like his WWI dad did. He is a good Christian man and he and others like him deserve the best. Instead, they get destroyed by chemo and forced into a constant round of “monitoring” and told that they are “in remission” but nobody goes 5 years without getting cancer again……this is NOT the way America should be.

God bless America. God bless our vets. God save America. God destroy the evil among us. MAGA

Totally agree. As has been pointed out elsewhere all Sessions did was answer Grassley’s letter, which he has to do, and say he’ll consider it. Should have considered, then actually gone through with it, months ago. Meanwhile Mueller is making up whatever nonesense he wants to try to take down Trump. I see no reason to feel optimistic about Sessions at all.

I’m optimistic this is the real deal. There are too many dots to connect in one post even if I knew all of them, which I don’t and I doubt anyone outside of President Trump and his closest advisers do either. I don’t think what just happened in KSA is unrelated either. There are tectonic plates moving under foot and I have confidence our president is on top of it all. He will arrive home tomorrow after a very successful MAGA trip with his approval rating on the rise. This is the time to strike the enemy and the enemy starts with those who will be exposed by the Special Counsel soon to be appointed by Jeff Sessions.

It never made sense that Sessions was doing nothing on DC Swamp corruption. Maybe he needed to wait for the timing to be right. Mueller spends 6 months and doesn’t find anything to link Trump in collusion with Russia. That had to play itself out for there the real investigation into Russian collusion to not seem tit-for-tat. KSA shuts off the funding and the Anitfa protests fizzle. Podesta’s go hide under a bridge, and last but not least Brazile comes out and proves Clinton and the DNC started the whole Dossier thing.

For those thinking Sessions was just doing some perfunctory response to the letter from Congress, I would why now instead of a week ago or a month ago or even earlier. He has received several letters from Congressmen asking him to act, but he waited until now – why? Maybe it’s because now the pieces are in place to win this sure to be epic battle.

I am not the brightest bulb in the pack, but when I first heard about the whole ‘Trump colluded with Russia’ and ‘Somehow the Russian’s greatly influenced the election’ things – starting pretty much election night, I immediately gave it a Bronx cheer because I knew it was election loss BS of the type I would expect from the libs – of both parties.
I was shocked when I saw it develop legs and continue on and I have been upset time and again over the last year as it never seems to die. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence has to know this is completely ridiculous and anyone not emotionally invested in the uni-party knows that this has their fingerprints all over it. This is Alinsky-style politics at its finest – use rumor and innuendo to grind down and halt any and all progress of your opponent once they have won an election.

I am not disappointed at the libs for pulling this as it is exactly what I expect from them at this time in history. They will lie, cheat, steal and far far worse to retain power and access to trillions of $$/year in our money. No, my greatest disappointment has been for those in my own party who either actively participated in what was obviously a lie and a charade or who slunk in the weeds – unwilling to come vigorously to the defense of the freely and fairly elected president of their own party.

For I content that had the republican party risen up at once and vigorously denounced this as the lie it was it would never have developed any legs and would now be ancient history. However, as we have seen to our sorrow, many in the R party have zero interest in seeing the Trump agenda succeed.
