Important Note – Clear Your Cookies and Browser Cache Frequently…

A rather long and complex issue has surfaced that CTH has specific knowledge of.

patriotIt’s a bigger issue than appears on the surface.  However, to avoid a lengthy distraction -which will consume unnecessary energy- the short version is:

Until the election is over, if you travel the internet into news sites, political sites, and content containing political discussion therein, clear your browser and cache frequently throughout the day.

SHORT SUMMARY:  We have become aware there is a specific, intentional and ongoing “malvertising” effort.  That is, hidden and targeted malware embedded within political advertising (by Team Clinton) that is intended to disrupt targeted users based on their web browsing history.

If you have seen a Clinton ad anywhere you are probably a ‘carrier‘.  It doesn’t take any action on your part to gain the malware virus other than to be on a site where the malvertising is active. Once you carry the malware it travels with you in an effort to disrupt your navigation on targeted web sites/web pages.

CTH is one of the targeted sites, I’m sure there are many more, including popular social media platforms.  It would not surprise me to discover the majority of Pro-Trump sites are the primary targets. (More on that at another date/time).

If you are having navigation issues you have probably been exposed.  Word Press, the platform we use, estimates that 20% of CTH readers are carriers (it’s probably much more).  However, the good news is (hopefully) you can rid yourself of the issue by deleting your cache and/or cookies frequently.

If you are having site navigation issues, try clearing your browser history, cookies and especially the cache.

Remember, there are trillions of dollars at stake.  There is nothing the opposition will not do to retain power.  Truth and sunlight is a risk.

  5. I noticed as I got on just a few minutes ago the homepage was fine but it wouldn’t load any of the articles… it just sat there spinning (I’m on an iPhone using Safari). I exited out of Safari, closed the app, and then reopened it… everything works fine now! Just one more reason to use DuckDuckGo I guess.

Thanks for the heads up! I am going to clear my history, cache and cookies as soon as I’m done here just to be sure.

      Illinois Warrior,

I was having a heck of a time with my I-Phone a few weeks ago to the point I took it down to my provider and said, please help. I too was deleting my cache, cookies, and it worked for a bit, and it reverted back to the same problems pretty quickly. It got to the point that I couldn’t figure out what would work, hence the road trip to my provider.

I never had too problems at CTH, but anywhere else political, and then my phone would go all crazy. This is what they showed me to do through Safari.

      Settings
Scroll down to Safari and click,
Scroll to the very bottom and click ‘Advanced’
Click edit on the screen it took you too. Delete all of them. Please know that when you do, you need to resign in to WordPress, Disquis and so forth.

I was also told to go to a website where you can ask any question on any phone, I-Pad etc. Unfortunately, I’m at the airport and away from my notes. I will try to find it tomorrow when I will be home.

Please try this if you start having problems again. I used to do it multiple times a day, now I only do it when I remember. It seems to have solved the problem over time, at least I hope so.

I have had this problem for several months now and must delete everything several times a day and still freeze up regularly. I’ve suspected it was political sabotage all along and have been awaiting some public disclosure such as this to be forthcoming–but have only been met with “tin foil hat” type accusations when I’ve suggested it online.
I think they have bugs available to more or less completely shut us down whenever necessary.

Get yourself setup with a good suit of applications to protect yourself. It is worth the little cost when done properly. I would recommend you also consider a PC utilities and performance application like SystemMechanic from Iolo (http://www.iolo.com/) to help you keep your system clean and running properly. I have used it for about 15 years or more and it has worked extremely well for keeping my computers in good health.

If you couple this with a good suit of anti-virus/malware utilities as I have described above (can be done very inexpensively), you should be able to browse the Internet safely without worry of infections or malware/adware/spyware tracking. And it just pisses off the advertisers … hehehe .. 😉

Ad blocker doesn’t stop you from picking up the malware. It’s automatically embedded in the site, not the ad. You may not see an ad yet still pick up the malware.

This is a much bigger issue than would appear on the surface and obviously the internet sites don’t want people to know about this because it can have massive ramifications.

I don’t want to get into a battle with the entire leftist internet, that’s why my warning is a very simple explanation of the issue. Along with the simplest, albeit terribly inconvenient, solution.

Again, Ad Blocker doesn’t protect you. The malvertising code, leaves the ad, and gets on the page, then you pick it up and it travels with you tracing your footprint to identify when and where to detonate.

      It’s a very devious scheme.

It gets resolved, & then it occurs again. I had no idea what was causing it, because I spend the majority of my time here, & only visit Drudge, Breitbart & a few other sites, once a day.

I guessed it was some kind of attack due to the Fact that I am always on Sites that favor TRUMP~! However, since I have been to the same locations for the last year & 1/2, I thought it strange that it just started last week.

Neither Drudge nor I can stop putting people into the position of compromise. This malvertising issue is sneaky… it’s everywhere. This appears to be a very well thought out strategy. The only thing we can do is remind everyone to keep clearing their cache throughout the day.

            just as an informational/helpful note.

Something that may help is PeerBlock, which runs as a firewall service and blocks IPs from known offending IPs (millions!). The default list already includes IPs for major media, advertising, government, schools etc. The IP list is updated automatically and you also have the option to include your own range and or exceptions.

Free and OpenSource and community supported.

BRAVO!! .. Yes, this is another great idea that I had forgotten about.

I will caution the novices out there though. You can block access to EVERYTHING with this utility, so be advised and used with caution. Study up a little bit on proper user and setup before using this.

I use this particular software on several of my web servers to block DDOS attacks. Basically, I block all Chinese IP blocks along with many other countries and known attack sources. PeerBlock is primarily used to block INCOMING requests. I have used it on my servers for many years and it works quite well. I would also recommend that you pay a couple of bucks to get a subscription to I-BlockList (https://www.iblocklist.com/) and utiltize some of those block lists. Be careful however, you can end up blocking yourself out of a lot of things if not careful. There are hundreds and hundreds of block lists available that are usable with PeerBlock.

If internet advertising used the same trust model as radio/TV/cable broadcast, this wouldn’t be a problem. Ads would be hosted on individual servers within sites. Instead, they push ad content out there to a single place where they don’t have to trust the main content host server. This enables the ability to block. They are incredibly untrusting and incredibly greedy. What’s more, malware is PRIMARILY distributed through ad networks now. That’s a fact.

Paul Ryan was appointed Chairman of the RNC Presidential Trust. This is money spent by the RNC to support the presidential candidate’s campaign. The RNC spent about 40 million on Romney. How many pro Trump ads do you see on tv?

“The RNC had $51 million cash on hand on Oct. 20, and had spent less than $400,000 on either coordinated or independent expenditures to support their 2016 candidate. Most of those expenses were incurred more than a year ago ― before Republican voters chose Trump as their standard-bearer.”

VPN’s work if they don’t already know your IP address (which is like the home address of your computer)

With a VPN, your internet requests are sent to the VPN’s server often in another nation and from there to the URL address. The results come back to the VPN and then back to you. The folk at the URL address know you are using a VPN, and sometimes let you know they know. Plus, since they know the location of the VPN server, some providers will change their product to the language of that nation. Sometimes I got Chinese text on Amazon.

A VPN will keep most new folk from finding your address. However even when I change internet providers, even when I move, the same old cast of enemies quickly locate my new IP. Never had such a band of enemies until I became enmeshed at Hotair and it multiplied when I became a Trump defender.

I was going to quit the fight, but when Trump tentatively entered the race, and I saw the HA cast of fake average patriotic citizens (trolls) staged to create an impression that nobody considered Trump a serious candidate, I doubled down and decided I had to fight this fight – which involves getting punched in the face every day. I know some how Kim and Assange feel, because you are up against the people who write half the software driving the web

Is the malware something that will steal personal information and use it to destroy the individual in every possible way? What do they want besides shutting down truth and scaring us? If the technology was invented to use for ill, why isn’t there a technology to defeat it?

How will clearing the cache do anything if the malware can’t be removed anyway? If we come to this site will we be infected all over again?

No worries, Lucille. Malware can be destructive, but what Sundance is describing isn’t quite that bad. What the Clinton malvertising thing does is it sits in your browser and stops you from visiting pro-Trump websites like this one. The way you protect yourself is to go to Google or whatever search site you like and search “how to clear cookies and cache” plus the name of your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome… whichever one you’re using). You’ll find directions on what to do, then just follow the directions.

Do Not Fret. If you are not having any issues, don’t worry.

There’s no other risk, other than user/site disruption – which is the intent. Their goal, as it appears, is to simply to block you from getting information and/or visiting websites they view as a risk to their narrative.

If you don’t have a problem, you are not fitting their profile. The malware profiles the user. If you quit, they win. If you change your behavior, they win. If you lose enjoyment, they win. Don’t let them win.

It is all about how the internet/commercial sites work. Gather data, put you in a box, sell it on and guess what? Privacy is an antiquated idea.

One of my bête noire is that ever diminished line between private and public.

Do what you can, but know that the internet is open and public access.

Just like the Clinton so-called deleted emails, the internet has them all and in the words of a great novel by Bukgakov: “manuscripts don’t burn”.

I use a Virtual Private Network (VPN). I use Private Internet Access but there are many others. PIA is only about $3/month.

Also, you can see some of the information that your browser leaks while online by going to this site:

PIA worked well for me – in terms of acquiring less new enemies. If the attacker already has your IP address a VPN will not stop them from directly addressing your PC. And, a VPN doesn’t protect you from malware embedded in what is returned to you via the VPN server. Such malware could find your IP address once it is on your system

I suggest you tell your readers to switch to the Brave web browser (www.brave.com). It is a new type of secure browser that utilizes block chain technology(bitcoin). The downside for blog owners is that it blocks ads, but the upside for readers is that it blocks cookies, trackers, and scripts.

All of the major browsers allow one access to a “private browser” window where no infection vector is available as no cookies or any kind of tracking is allowed to be saved.

In Chrome hit Ctrl + Shift + n which will open a new “incognito” window
In Firefox hit the menu button in the upper right corner then select new private window

Any cached data or cookies loaded onto your browser will be deleted when you close this window helping to prevent site tracking.

You can test what information your browser is giving out by going to browserleaks.com. I’d test those “Incognito” and “private browser” settings. Sorry, I don’t quite trust them.

this should be part of your daily routine, like brushing your teeth. If you have not noticed by now, a lot and I mean a helluva lot of sites use Taboola, Rev Content, Outbrain, ie Israeli profiling advertising software which uses undisclosed methods to offer up ads to you. That is probably not all they do. Clearing your cache, cookies etc should be like brushing your teeth. Cookies can track your browsing behavior. Clearing is better than doing nothing, but probably not enough. I suspect there are quite a few methods “advertising” platforms profile other than websites visited. You should also use a VPN with an exit in a different legal jursidiction and be aware that your device has an electronic fingerprint called a MAC address, which identifies unique device settings. Be aware of the company and directors of any VPN software you choose to use. Wikileaks recommends Tor and Tails.

  38. Aha. This may explain the frequent and frustrating redirection of recent days to an inane “You are a winner” fake contest site. It happens every time I navigate to the Drudge Report and to the Conservative Treehouse.

These days, cleaning out cookies frequently is necessary to keep my computer working right – especially after reading and commenting on articles at other sites,

Some websites (even supposedly conservative sites) can put as many as 50-60 sets of cookies from all the sites on their list! Right Scoop, Red State and a whole bunch of other formerly conservative, anti-Trump sites are on this list.

I don’t know if these cookies are used to track you and report back to their central command (see* below), but their presence eventually disrupts reading and even typing at CTH.

I don’t know about iPhones, iPads, etc., and I quit using a PC after getting targeted with an encryption virus.

Here’s what I do to prevent and fix the problem on my 2010 Mac laptop (OS X 10.9.5)

    PREVENT

    1) I frequently manually clear every cookie except CTH, Word Press and WP cookies.
Go to Safari Preferences, then Privacy, click Details and manually delete all the cookies that do not pertain to CTH.

    2) When signing into other sites to comment, especially Discus, I clean out cookies asap.

    3) Before clicking on some sites, I block all cookies first, just to prevent the aggravation of so many cookies. Go to Preferences, Privacy and click Always block cookies.

    FIX

    1) If I have interference, I clear all cookies or reset Safari completely which clears ALL cookies and resets history. Then I have to sign in again to Word Press and CTH.

    2) If all that doesn’t work, I go to https://theamericanindependent.wordpress.com – another Pro-Trump WordPress site that has CTH in its right side bar and click on a CTH article.

    3) Sometimes even clearing cookies/files and restarting doesn’t do the job, I have to reset and close Safari, close down the computer completely and start again, which means signing in again to WordPress at CTH.

Usually all that works – UNLESS the trouble-makers are attacking the Conservative Tree House itself.

*(Central Command: The Utah-based NeverTrumpers (McMullin is CIA), the UnipartyDemocratRINO globalists, an Obama-weaponized US agency such as NSA, or our new UN Internet overlords, or the Chinese, Norks, Nigerians, or (cue spooky music) the Russians. Or all of the above.)

It is a quick assessment of how target-able and recognizable you are online.

It is looking at the various types of information stored by the brower that uniquely identifies your browsing history and your particular browser. For example the first two history/cookie storage issues can be removed by running something like Privacy Badger. But if your browser has already been “fingerprinted” from a previous setting, websites could recognize you and target ads or scripts even if your cache is clear

        • OK. But everytime I run one of those “Fixer” programs, or monkey with the settings, everything goes south for a week and my laptop runs even worse. NO THANKS. If they DO “Recognize” me that’s fine, just as long as they don’t show up on my doorstep. I’, running low on ammo.

If you happen to see a new tab open and it states that your browser is out of date and an update is available, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT CLICK THE LINK TO UPDATE YOUR BROWSER. I’ve have seen this a couple times in the last week. Once was when I was on DrudgeReport and the new tab opened said there was an update for the Chrome browser with a big Chrome icon. However when I looked at the URL of the website it was obviously something spurious and not an official Google website. Stay safe.

And I pray for the safety and good health of Mr. Trump and his family.

    Many blessings to you all

For an Android device running Firefox, Clean Quit add-on is recommended. For a PC, No Script and set Firefox to delete browsing history on close – and especially the Macromedia folder in its entirety. That gets rid of the supercookies. Not using Google as a search engine is a yuge privacy help, also.

Howie posted something a while back about how the Correct The Record (CTR) was given instructions to take down all the enemies sites to shut them up, and they are using FBI Grade Tools. Not surprising since they are all SO INCESTUOUS within OUR Government, and everything we have recently learned from O’Keefe and WikiLeaks.

I was not sure that it was a true story, but very scary. It was right after the final debate.

For the past week or two (I’m not exactly certain), I have noticed that Chrome doesn’t recognize that I am logged in to my wordpress.com account when I comment at the Treehouse, requiring me to reenter my credentials with each comment. I chalked it up to a cookie issue. I wonder if it is related? (Note: I previously tried clearing my browser cache, but doing so didn’t fix the issue described above.)

I haven’t noticed most of the other symptoms mentioned. But, I rather aggressively block third-party cookies, and scripts.

Sundance: I have a couple of ideas for you, that may or may not do anything, but I thought I’d mention them anyway:

When you post links, pass them through a URL shortener like bit.ly. This might shield CTH clickthroughs to those links from being recognized as originating from CTH.
Alternately, when you post links, post them as text instead of hyperlinks. Users would have to copy and paste them in order to follow them, but doing so should guarantee that following the link won’t show CTH as the referrer.

The second suggestion is one that anyone can use when following links. Just right-click any link, select “copy link” (or “copy address” or whatever the appropriate text says), then open a new browser tab, and paste the copied link.
