Me too! We went to the World’s Fair in Flushing with our high school class. I remember the Ford Pavilion and riding in a Mustang Convertible. Lowenbrau had a beer garten there but we were too young.
The best part was I met Warren Spahn the Milwaukee pitcher. A photographer was there a snapped a photo of him giving me his autograph. It was on the front page of the New York Daily News the next morning!

My local petrol just jumped 30 cents a gallon overnight…diesel is about 6.50 a gallon.
Does anyone remember in the late 70’s or early 80’s when diesel was pushed as the new economical and climate friendly version of leaded gas? Moer mpg’s?
My gas car (age 20) gets 23 mpg on average, up to 30 with cruise control on and on the flat. My diesel car (age 22) gets 40 -45 depending on hills or not, AC or not. At 50 mph on the flat, it gets 55 mpg.
3 months after I bought the diesel, the price per gallon went from 15 cents under regular to 15 cents over regular, and has never gone below again.
The wheels of destruction of our current administration are moving in unison now that voting will begin shortly. All sides are engaged in opposing anything but a takeover of the House and Senate by the left. Democrats are piling on and all those opposed to the Trump restoration of our govt. voting rights, freedom of speech, independence, lower taxes, tariffs to lower our taxes etc. is grinding into full motion.
The enemy is rising and we are sitting ducks if we don’t get out and stand up to them.

She had a terrible stroke on Saturday, Sept. 5 – I called 911 right away as soon as it happened – she had a CT scan, then the Clot Buster and then a thrombectomy in Interventional Radiology – that took out all the pieces of the clot threatening her dear brain.
After a worrisome thing about a superficial clot making her left hand swell, she went back to the hospital. That was corrected with warm and cold compresses and raising her arm plus a pill to reduce the excess fluid (but no anti-coagulant as that could cause brain bleeds).
Now she is in a rehab place.
Her face looks normal again and today, she stood. Tomorrow, the PT will use the Hoyer Lift to help her to the wheelchair and then she will do more things. The Speech Therapist asked her to read a headline out loud from the “Wall Street Journal” laying on her hospital table:
“Widening Mideast Instability Squeezes Global Oil Supplies”
She aced it.
I am just grateful for one day at a time and all the blessings!

Family is with her now while I went home to get some sleep – first though, must take out the trash bins.
