And that will do what exactly? There is no point in impeaching him unless he can be convicted in the Senate, and that would mean flipping 13 Democrats to vote for conviction and that ain’t going to happen. We all know that the Dems will not vote to convict him under any circumstances. Even if the Republicans could produce video taped evidence of Obama and the Ayatollah’s conspiring to build nukes and use them against Israel and the US, the Dems would still not vote to convict. It is also quite likely that the CIA and the NSA have enough dirt on enough Republicans that many of them could be blackmailed into voting against impeachment, let alone a conviction in the Senate. There is more chance of a military coup or another civil war than there is an impeachment of Obama.

Don’t despair. The R’s just need to follow the model the D’s have used for decades. Hang every dumb decision, action or statement their leader makes around every one of their necks. Instead of wasting time attacking Obama force the D’s to stand with him and defend him. Obama can only get away with what he’s doing as long as the D’s let him. As much as the D’s like to think they brought Nixon down the truth is Nixon was done the minute Senate R’s decided they’d had enough. Politicians are survivors. Force the D’s to choose between supporting Obama or their own political survival.

Hey Bert, I used to think the same thing about the Marie Antoinette quote; that she was talking about actual cake made from batter with icing on it, I always thought how could the people be so mad about that. then a couple of years ago I was set straight and I found out that cake with icing was not the kind of cake to which she was referring. At the time Marie Antoinette said those fateful words, bread was the main sustenance for the people and there were many bread bakeries in every city. They baked bread in stone ovens and every so often the bakery proprietors would have to take their ovens off line to clean them because the residue from baking bread would build up on the bricks inside the oven. After the oven cooled down the bricks would be scrapped clean and that residue was called cake, as in the oven got caked with that gunk; and that was the cake Marie Antoinette was making reference too. It shows what a royal bi*ch she really was, and why the people wanted to see her face the guillotine. And now you know the rest of the story, as the late great Paul Harvey would say.

Like I said the day of the State of the Union address, any prior president getting a POW released after 5 years of captivity would have given Bergdahl mention and how we as Americans leave no troops behind yada yada. We would have a proud patriotic moment, followed by applause.

Failure to mention Bergdahl at the State of the Union was an admission that they screwed up. So this comes as no surprise. If there is a scene in American Sniper that would accurately describe the Obama team, it would be Chris Kyle in sniper training camp where he can’t hit the target. No disrespect to Kyle intended.

Obama seems to have been getting torn up more and more by mainstream media lately. Perhaps they ran out of turn polish. No disrespect to turd polish.

      Here is the thing.

It was not a screw up.

It was a calculated move to free 5 terrorists who would as soon kill an American child as they would slap a Muslim woman as they would slide on their sandals. It is only a small bonus that Obama got a deserter in return for freeing the terrorist. A Muslim convert deserter, who Obama paraded before the American public as a war hero.

Team Obama probably laughed themselves wet when they exchanged 5 terrorists for an American Muslim deserter and tried to play it as a patriotic American act. Obama still does not expect the media to turn on him, he will act with impunity, free terrorists, spit on Israel, send folks to funerals for thugs ignore our war heros and sleep like a man with no conscience when his jug ears hit the pillow.

Unless, of course, they’re negotiating for the release of terrorists in Gitmo.

        Liked by 5 people

      • Precisely. Obama wants to close Gitmo. NOW we know why. He wants to give it back to Cuba. Why? Because Obama is what we knew he was all along – a circa-1980 university Marxist, completely unchanged, who always viewed Castro as good and America as bad. The American presence in Guantanamo has always been a sore point with the radical left, particularly the American university sympathizers of LatAm communists, and Obama is doing PRECISELY what one would predict from a campus radical, circa 1980, hating Reagan, and now in the White House.

Bergdahl was an excuse. The thing is, though, that using him was a very cunning ploy. Remember – we did not know about Cuban normalization at that time. THAT was known to Hillary and Obama and his inner circle only.

Bottom line – we have a throwback red – basically the anti-Reagan – in the White House. What amounted to a Soviet recruitment from that time. Expect this to get worse. Whatever the Kremlin wanted back then, is what Obama wants now.

What exactly can the Republicans do about it. They can fight, that is true, but it will in the end be a losing fight, The President already ignores the Constitution and duly passed laws at his whim. Unless you have 67 Senators willing to vote for conviction, impeachment in the House is meaningless, Obama and his supporters will not care, and even if an impeachment drives his approval ratings into the 20’s he still will not care, he will still rule by executive order and nothing will change. Nothing short of a Senate conviction or a military coup, either resulting in a removal from office will make any difference. We have arrived at a point in this country that a relatively large minority of the people, those being hardcore progressives, do not care about the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, American traditions etc…etc… and they will accept a dictator as long as the dictator is their guy. We have reached a very dangerous situation within our country, and in the world in general. I keep thinking about the echos from history and how they seem to be lining up again. I keep thinking about WWI, how the Russians were in the thick of the war and then had to withdraw to fight their own civil war, and I realize that the world is again on the brink of another global conflict but this time it is the US that is nearing the brink of civil war because some people will simply not play by the long established and Constitutionally mandated rules. Yes, history does have it’s echos and they are converging upon us rapidly.

Would like to remind everyone that the Congress gave away their power to the Federal Government a little bit at a time by passing laws that allowed the President to act in their behalf in emergencies, without consulting them or giving their approval.

You complain about the EO’s usurping the powers of Congress but if you look in the Executive Orders it usually cites the source of the originating law. These contingencies make a lot of sense except there has never been a time in our history that Congress has never been available to consult on National Emergencies. Could Congress have been consulted on the necessary responses to the Great Depression, Or any of the National Emergencies that have been declared since the Great Depression.? The problem lies in the fact that these Emergencies are never declared over and the EO’s are never declared inactive.

The Solution, I’m not sure but the first thing that should happen is a return to the Senators to appointment by the States. The Second should be Electoral College being returned to the way the founders intended it to work. There are a lot of other things that need corrected but those two i mentioned would stop some of the abuses perpertrated on the American People in the name of the Political Parties. And those that are adamant that we were set up as a two party system. Bull Kacke. Where is it in the Constitution.

          • I can only speculate at this point, and those speculations don’t really rise to the level of being helpful or enlightening. I can only speak for myself – I have faith in the robustness of the Founding Fathers’ design. I think Obama may have off-roaded the country, but I trust that we can get back on track by the CITIZENRY refusing to give up their rights under the first 10 Amendments. That, and clamoring for Congress to vacate or abort any rules or regulations which try to shut us up or put the jackboots to us. And last but not least, don’t believe his captive media.

50% approval rating, just in! AS IF! 😉

I hope you’re correct. You said “I have faith in the robustness of the Founding Fathers’ design” and so do I, when the Founding Fathers design is respected by all the political institutions and when all parties respect the rules the Founders put in place and act within them. Their original design guaranteed that the political fights would mainly be between the political institutions because it was thought that Congressman, and the Executive, would vigorously protect their institutions prerogatives, i.e., the separation of powers. Unfortunately the main fight now is between the political parties and they protect the prerogatives of said parties and not the Constitutional institutions. Thus we’ve now reached the point where large numbers of Congressmen ignore their institutions prerogatives in favor of their party’s political prerogatives. We can thank this situation on the early progressives who got the 17th Amendment ratified as that is the root cause of the problems, i.e., why the Constitutional remedies that the Founders designed, are not now workable.

              As do I.

What I don’t have faith in is the number of citizens and non-citizens that don’t believe in the wisdom of that design, and alternatively see government as their source instead of a Creator and their own free will. Unfortunately the Founding Fathers never imagined a huge populace corrupted by government largesse.

The Taliban prisoners were captured in 2001 and 2002. About two years before Bergdahl joined the army, he received a psychological discharge from the U.S. Coast Guard in 2006 after 26 days of service. He was deployed to Afghanistan in May, 2009. But before he got his orders, Bergdahl learned Pashtu and spent time looking at maps of Afghanistan and Pakistan. He and his father spoke Farsi to each other. He walked away from his unit on June 30, 2009, less than two months after arriving in Afghanistan near the Pakistan border. The Taliban announced in 2010 that Bowe had converted to Islam, but there is information that his conversion occurred long before he joined the army. He is the only American soldier to ever be held captive by the Taliban. The only one. He was ‘held’ five years. His father still works to free Taliban prisoners.

I contend that this was planned between Bowe and his father before Bowe joined the army. The only question remaining in my mind is whether the o-bama administration was complicit. So far, there’s no evidence that it was except for o-bama’s Cheshire cat smile when Bowe’s dad cried out the Islamic war cry of victory at the formal return announcement presser. I have nothing to base my opinion on besides that and my gut. I just don’t see o-bama or Jarrett not being involved in the plot somewhere.

Here’s some info that might be of interest:

          • What you say here resonates soundly for me; your narrative has all the pieces falling into place without missing a thing. I have also long believed this was one of the administration’s long look-ahead plans. With these people in power and their willingness to plan an event that seems to the rest of us jump out of nowhere long in advance, what you have laid out is entirely plausible. There are far, far too many coincidences here to be considered chance. I find Obama’s rise to power to be more well planned than a series of opportunistic happenstances as well. If I didn’t believe in a Shadow Government before, I certainly do now.

A well planned conspiracy to overthrow the Republic as it was designed by our Founding Fathers is a conspiracy to treason, with every participating actor equally due a traitor’s end. The scope here is astounding both in terms of planning and logistics. I think Obama is a figurehead, nothing more – he’s the Bread and Circus for the masses. The thing about Jarrett that truly frightens me is she is but one head of the Hydra’s many.

I think Walid Shoebat is a credible source, regardless (or even moreso because of) the attempts of the left to discredit him. He certainly makes his case about Obama being Muslim and advocates for commonsense strategies against Radical Islam that (as he delineates) Obama ignores, thus serving both his Muslim faith and it’s terrorists. I’ve seen Shoebat on Fox as a contributor but had no idea he was a Christian Convert from a radicalized Muslim let alone coming from an entire family of terrorists. Thanks for the links, Kitty. Interesting stuff.

I’ll be shocked if he’s convicted. It’s too politically dangerous for o-bama to let that happen. Let us remember that o-bama has fired all generals and top officers with any cojones and replaced them with ‘Yes” men. Our military has been castrated by this bastard. The new SECDEF nominee, Ashton Carter is a politico and policy wonk. He’s never served in the military. He hails from the academy, not the battlefield. He’s well-versed in military technology but is strictly a politico.

I believe Carter will quash any negative appearance from the Bergdahl fiasco going forward, including pressure to drop charges, assuming they’ve been filed, even if a court-martial is underway. I believe the White house is stalling the release of the report in anticipation of senate advice and consent (approval) of Carter’s appointment so he can pull strings and work s little high-pressure magic for the White House.

O’Reilly asked the same question that popped into my mind when he was told that the Army has actually charged Bergdahl with desertion:

“What good does it do to stall the release of this information, since it has to eventually become public knowledge, one way or the other?”

Seems to me that people inside the Army are intentionally ignoring pressure from the White House to “sweep this under the rug” and are proceeding with charges against Bergdahl as a means of rolling Obama under the bus. (Good for them)

And, IMO the only possible benefit from stalling the public release of this info is to provide the administration with time to formulate a response that will

    a) Provide Obama with “distance” from the situation and
    b) Find someone who can be fingered as a “patsy” who will take the fall

I have visions of yet MORE hard drives crashing, and more people refusing to testify about who knew what and most importantly, when they knew it. Will someone in the administration “fall on their sword” to protect the president, or will this devolve into a session of “finger pointing” between the WH and the Pentagon?
