The false accusations of racism and sexism against our president took a big hit today as the Governor of Puerto Rico, Wanda Vazquez, has endorsed President Trump for his 2020 re-election.
Governor Vazquez was going to surprise the media with a planned campaign event with President Trump in Central FL, which has a very high Puerto Rican population, last Friday. However, the event had to be canceled due to the president’s COVID-19 diagnosis. Governor Vazquez made the endorsement today via a television interview [SEE HERE].
While Puerto Rican nationals cannot participate in the U.S. presidential election, there are many U.S. citizens from Puerto Rico, especially in Florida. In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria many residents of Puerto Rico moved to Florida due to the collapsed infrastructure during the emergency. This endorsement today reflects a strong showing of support for how President Trump has assisted the island.
In addition to the initial recovery funding, recently President Trump announced the largest ever FEMA grant to the island nation, almost $13 billion, in an effort to completely rebuild the roads, utilities and energy infrastructure. The administration’s approach is a smart investment in an island that has a unique set of resources for the pharmaceutical industry; including a previously trained workforce. The announcement was typical President Trump with optimal and pragmatic policy solutions on display.
[…] Puerto Rico serves as a strategic economic region to recapture the Pharmaceutical industry. Historically Puerto Rico was a hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing; however, due to poor and undependable infrastructure, an outcome of terrible management in government, combined with competitive incentives provided by alternative nations, most PR pharma operations moved to India and China.
With the Trump administration confronting Big Pharma on multiple fronts, including the need for a secure supply chain, a cost-effective approach is massive investment to repair and replace the island infrastructure. Today the White House announces the largest FEMA grant in history as an underpinning to this strategic objective. (continue reading)
Here is the Telemundo exclusive where she asks for votes in favor of Trump. https://t.co/JjAiV1RIQ9

The Puerto Rico Governors endorsement of President Trump is meant to sway Puerto Ricans living in the U.S.
The current governor wants Puerto Rico to be a state.
President Trump does not.
Puerto Ricans living on the island aren’t even allowed to vote for president in November.— David Begnaud (@DavidBegnaud) October 6, 2020
I still oppose statehood. Gov. can you help find the ~$93B stolen by your predecessor and San Juan Mayor?
Art of War, Here is my like to your comment. It looks like wordpress has shut me out again.
What happened to sherryoftexas? For a minute, I didn’t recognize you. 🙁
When I hover over the avatar, name changes to sherryoftexas.
Yup….She apparently switched it back sometime during the day.
This all gets so confusing! (BTW, thankful the site seems to be back to normal now – great job keeping us posted.)
Sundance was amazing.! He kept after those WP “happiness engineers” (LOL) ’til they relented and removed the troublesome software. He is our LION…… ?
WP should be grateful that he chose to plant his tree here.
You can bet many NGOs including George Soreass sucked up mountains of that money. Plus don’t forget the plane load of Demorat’s who flooded the island to plan the future of that island.
Was that when the Democrats went to Puerto Rico on a junket after Christmas during the government shut-down over spending & Pres. Trump stayed in DC during Christmas waiting on Nasty’s call while his family went to Florida?11
Statehood is NOT the issue here.
Puerto Ricans living in the US and legally allowed to vote here IS.
Tons of P.R.’s live in the NE and have for generations. Many new arrivals in FL. since that horrible hurricane a few years back.
Focus!
Oh but statehood is AN issue here as DS tries to pack the Senate. And an endorsement by the new Gov. should not determine statehood. Let’s see how she acts/sets policy.
I agree that many Puerto Ricans fled the Island after two devastating storms with Dims looking for votes. Which they may not get as PDJT has worked to rebuild Puerto Rico.
ArtofWar: It is not an issue as regards this post of SD’s.
The 2020 Presidential vote is the issue, not PR statehood.
That’s right.
Puertorricans are uSA citizens by law and not Constitution – Puerto RIco is not a State and only States select the POTUS, VPOTUS, send Senators and Representatives to the Congress of these uSA.
If a Puertorrican moves to Florida, from Puerto Rico, without transferring residency to Florida, that person cannot vote in the Florida elections. They may cast an absentee vote in the Puerto Rico elections.
If the residency is moved to Florida, they may vote in the Florida election and no longer can vote in the Puerto Rico elections.
Glad that Ms. Vazquez supports POTUS Trump but, no, heck no, to Puerto Rico Statehood.
BTW, I am from PR but left the island for all practical purposes in 1978.
Jaime, I know how you feel. I left in 1977 ???, after trying for many years to alert people to the corruption (in both major parties, since they are both run by the globalists).
I was laughed at and ignored (they are not laughing anymore). I could see what was coming, and when I realized I was wasting my time, and no future there for me or my yet to be born children, I left (the biggest pain of my life. I love the island, it is gorgeous ??. Tropical dry forest ?, tropical rain forest ?, mountains ?, karst terrain ?, bioluminescent bays ?, beaches ? and of course, El Yunque National Forest ???).
After 20 years in the Coast Guard, I settled in Florida. My 2 children, 2 grandchildren and me are rock solid President Trump supporters ??. We will never support leftists or globalists. We do not want what happened to Puerto Rico to happen to the US. Ready to fight.
I can’t upvote….I have no power here?? but in lieu of upvote I give you these. ?????????
“Come on man, if you don’t endorse me, you ain’t Puerto Ricon!”
Que Fantastico!
Absolument!
AOC must be devastated.
AOC Threatens Americans: “You’re Not Going Back to Brunch”
Dinesh D’Souza – October 6, 2020
Everyone has a plan ’till they get punched in the mouth.
Mike Tyson
Thank you for the post; I do like Mr. D’Souza and appreciated his thoughts. She is a cutout at best, who mixes up economists as if she were mixing drinks at Flats Fix; I humbly suggest not losing too much sleep over her.
“I humbly suggest not losing too much sleep over her.” LOL! No fear!
Well done Lucile! Deep comment of the day, et cetera….
Just trying to be polite to all our friends, but I appreciate your thought.
Incidentally, if I had not said so before, I often enjoy your posts on the Open Thread.
The Daily Open Thread can be serious or fun or places in between…a great mix. Glad you enjoy it.
Dinesh is always enjoyable (and AOC is always an idiot). But what is this “brunch” expression? Sorry, I don’t get it.
Goodness only knows what the unfortunate congresswoman means. I take it as…those brainwashed by “critical race” theorists would consider “brunch” to be a class and white privilege event indulged in by racists as defined by the theory.
CRT is a monstrous hoax, of course, which pays very well for those who promote it, while destroying the lives of those who buy into it.
Biden: “You have nothing to fear but, but, you know the thing”!!!
“He’ll literally have y’all back in CHAINS!!!” – Hiden’ Biden
Biden will have to go back to Florida and play Despacito on his cell phone again.
He forgot how.
LOL Cracked me up! OTOH I can hardly believe that he is running for POTUS and a ton of people are going to vote for him! wth?? God help us!
I don’t think too many people are voting FOR him so much as against Trump. The dems are in the same boat this election that we were during the McCain/Romney runs.
Yeah, but we knew enough to hold our noses.
Wait, is that why they’re so mask silly?
Masks do not filter out the smell of farts.
That should tell you all you need to know about the efficacy of masks.
He’ll be playing Desperado instead.
What a surprise!
Impressive!!!
Wonderful news. ?????
Just keep a close eye on all that spending … if the local politicians are smart they’ll realize that skimming the aid will be short-sighted; there’s more wealth to be had with more industry on the island; more rich industries, more well paid workers, better chance at holding & retaining office; everybody wins.
How do you translate the video?
I translate it as more votes for Trump!
IMO, the Constitution should be amended to permit each U.S. Territory representation like states in the House, i.e., according to population with a minimum of 1 representative per Territory, but NO senator. That would give them some electoral votes. It would also overcome the legitimate objection that U.S. Citizens residing in territories experience “taxation without representation.” Yet, it would reserve the Senate to states only and thwart Dem attempts to pack the Senate.
What do others think about this idea?
Same for DC.
Cut them free. Help them if they want it, but tell them we don’t own anybody and we aren’t an Empire. Let’s help them all to successful and free nationhood in such a way as to make great and lasting friendships and alliances.
I endorse this statement! ?☝
Would be funny though if PR became a state and voted in two GOP senators. ?
AND that will go more towards Puerto Ricans electing people that are for them…NOT taking the money and running!!! Like the last governor who stored all that water in warehouses!!!!
“…. Puerto Ricans electing people that are for them…NOT taking the money and running.”
You mean like our honest and faithful Governors, Mayors, state Reps, and Congressional Reps and Senators?
Oh, wait……
There are a number of enemy nations just hoping we gift them Puerto Rico in such manner.
China would pay a pretty penny. Then would develop the pharmaceutical industry. Probably claim it was first discovered by Chinese explorers
Alligator Gar: See my response below under gensensibility’s comment.
The idea may make some sense but it represents the camel’s nose under the tent. It wouldn’t take a moment for the campaign for “full” citizenship to begin and that would happen very quickly. It’s all or nothing, I’m afraid.
Camel’s nose was exactly the phrase I wuz gonna use!
gensensibility: Dunno what you mean by “full citizenship.” If you mean PEOPLE as citizens, most Puerto Ricans, as well as those born or naturalized ALL the territories, ALREADY ARE U.S. Citizens. If you mean STATES as “citizens” and you mean the camel’s nose to refer to getting them representation in the house leading rapidly to statehood, I disagree. I’m not suggesting amending the statehood requirements, and many unsuccessful attempts have been made to make PR and DC into states. If anything, appeasing the legitimate objections of taxation without representation and no voice in presidential elections, will ELIMINATE their strongest argument for statehood.
As to Alligator Gar’s comment above to “cut them free,” the United States has strategic and military interests in its territories, e.g., Guam, which is a MAJOR military asset, and these are under U.S. sovereignty not dependent on any “lease” with a foreign nation. Unlike the Philippines and Cuba, both of which revolted for their independence from the U.S., so far as I know there has been no significant movement in any existing Territories to break free.
Just repeal the 17th and be done with it.
Puerto Rico has voted several times on statehood and independance and turned them both down. It seems our Federal welfare and no taxes keep influencing their decisions.
I don’t believe that citizens of the territories are subject to Federal Income tax so the taxation without representation stick doesn’t apply.
That’s a big hit to the far Left. Imagine Puerto Ricans actually thankful for Trump’s efforts in aiding them….Who’da thunk…
Quite a striking blow to AOC….The other White Meat PR masquerading as a “woman of color”…..
Hey.. That could become a meme don’t cha think…??
#AOC TheOtherWhiteMeat#
Kinda catchy If I do say so …. LOL
I wouldn’t wanna catch that…
LOL. Can’t argue there….
I saw some photos of her recently wearing a mask. My initial impression was that she was wearing a “feed bag”.
Outgoing Governor according to this.
Puerto Rican governor loses her primary, as the island holds their election a second time
6 Oct 2020
https://justthenews.com/video/puerto-rican-governor-loses-her-primary-island-holds-their-election-second-time
Interesting. I guess she is showing her turn colors since she has zero to gain from this endorsement. Must be authentic.
This is as meaningless an endorsement as you can have. She has no clout over people of PR, She became Governor by a fluke, the prior Governor resigned, as well as the 2nd in line due to a political scandal. She recently lost her primary, so will not be in the ballot this November .
“…clout over people of PR….” My goodness, clout OVER folks is sorta Dem sounding. We’re looking for influence…which she would have in Florida.
I grew up in PR, my family and many friends are still there, so I know very well how little power this transient Governor has. Clout/ Influence sounds like semantics, in any event she has very little of either over people from PR , whether they live in PR or in the USA . She’s seen as a loser, which
she is given that she was never elected Governor, and she just lost her Primary.
So the Puerto Rican people DON’T respect a woman who HAS NOT been involved in scandal, but they DO respect and elect corrupt politicians who ARE involved in nefarious and illegal activities?
That makes no sense at all. It sounds like Democrats.
Sure ya did “philly” girl. Fix your GPS, you got lost on the way to Shareblue as Sundance said.
ok party pooper
You sound disappointed. Maybe you took a wrong turn at ShareBlue.
Even trade.
PR statehood and full citizenship for striking down the 17th amendment and returning to the original language in Article I Section 3 of the US Constitution.
We need to return to State’s Rights and being a representative Republic instead of mob rule ‘democracy’.
That has potential. The Senate is too powerful, corrupt, and unaccountable, with the States almost insignificant in the governance of the country as a whole.
I’d take this trade in a heartbeat.
Whoa! Did not see this one coming.
Even if she is headed out, it could still be helpful as an endorsement for individuals living in the 48, who are not active residents of the island.
Wonder how Guam and the Marital Islands will react?
There’s a Spanish version, too.
As usual, Trump supporters getting out there w/ joy and class!
It’s laughable.
Folks from Puerto Rico, the Dominican, Cuba, El Salvador, Columbia, Mexico know corruption and know law enforceme too.
If you are from these countries and can vote legally, how could they not support Trump?
They are here for this reason.
Lots of Catholics who are pro-life, too. Or, at the very least, pro-God.
All of which the Dem Party despises.
Bien dicho. Well said, Cocoon.
Did she also promise that if Puerto Rico became a state . . . both senators would be Republicans?
Wow! That’d make a bunch of leftist heads explode!
Can’t do that unless the 17th Amendment is repealed. (Did I get the right on?)
Repeal the 17th! Yes, you have that right. Let’s ask PDJT to gitter done next term.
She’ll have no say in that since she will not be Governor past January 2nd, 2020
Sorry, meant January 2nd, 2021
Who will be?
GB Bary, whoever wins, it will be a demonrat. Both candidates for both major
political parties there are allied to the demonrat party ???. It only took a couple of minutes of research to find out.
That is one of the reasons I left- most people there do no research. They are too busy thinking about partying, that is how the globalists control them. Old PR saying- ‘baile, baraja y botella’ = ‘dance, cards and bottle (booze).’
Too busy partying ??? to worry about getting robbed by corrupt politicians and their buddies.
The point is this isn’t supposed to happen. The President and all of us deplorables are racists.
Puerto Rico could become a greater vacation spot than it already was. Pharma left them to starve to death. The buildings are still there and much of the work force. I don’t believe you need a passport to go.
It is all good .
Maybe she saw Trump’s plans for that North Korean resort and thought it would be better in Puerto Rico.
I kind of doubt it.
Not That the Presidents idea wasn’t a great idea for NK.
Giving up your freedom with a chance of dying the day you land, in NK. Makes one’s suggestion of the coincidence of the 2 countries, trite.
You don’t need a passport to go to PR. ?
My surfer buddies love PR.
Love Dinesh, I will suggest that AOC go back to what she was good at. Mixing drinks and eating corn on the cobb through a picket fence.
She is learning which side of the bread is buttered with pork fat.
Think she’d do this is it was known by the insiders with access to real internal polls that Biden would win?
Don’t be complacent though, vote and tell everyone you know to vote straight R.
PR is close enough to cuba to know that a commie in the White House will be bad for PR. PR is also close enough to Haiti to know that a Cintonesque globalist in or near the White House will be bad for PR when there’s another natural disaster.
The governor seems to be thinking like an adult and not like an evil power-crazed over grown adolescent lunatic having a temper tantrum.
Exactly.
O/T.
This article isn’t about the Pope.
Con fe, lo mejor está por venir… With faith, “the best is yet to come”. PDJT’s campaign slogan!
Ay pendejos!
I wonder how Schumie and Occasional Cortex took this? Did they know it was coming?
Still want Statehood for PR? Just because they sort of speak Spanish it doesn’t mean they’ll go Democrat.
I wonder how many heads exploded today at Telemundo!
Your opening exclamation wouldn’t fly well here if it had been expressed in English, Tony.
Way over the top for the polite company with which we are surrounded on this site. If the Admins had understood it, your leading grito would not have passed muster for posting your comment.
Slap in the face to Touch n’ Sniff Joe and his DemCong sappers. PR is where the Pedocrats go to play. Very humiliating that the PR Governor endorses President Trump. She knows what star to hitch too- the other guy is a burned out asteroid.
Brave woman to go against the violent left in her own party
