CALIFORNIA – A yearbook photo of a high school teacher making a political statement by dressing up like slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin was stirring up controversy in the community Thursday.

As classes let out for the day at Brentwood’s Heritage High School in Brentwood, California Thursday, students were more excited than usual because the school had issued the 2014 yearbook.

Very quickly, a portrait taken by longtime history teacher Spencer Smith became a hot topic sweeping across campus.

In the photo, Smith is dressed like Trayvon Martin, the Florida teenager killed by neighborhood watch coordinator George Zimmerman in 2012.

Smith is wearing a hoodie with the hood covering his head and he’s holding a bag of Skittles candy.

Reactions to the photo among students were mixed.

“I think it’s OK that he did it, just not in the yearbook. I think he can do it at his house or on his Facebook. But not in the yearbook,” said sophomore Amber McKim. (more…)

MH-370 Underwater Science Experts Now Claim ‘Pings’ Were Not From Missing Plane and Label Entire Operation a ‘Debacle’….

Another week, another series of embarrassing setbacks, and nothingness.

MH 370 4-12Last week the company responsible for outlining the search area for the missing Malaysian airline MH-370, Inmarsat, claimed the satellite data which they used to construct the flight path was lost.   Consequently, no peer review or outside independent analysis could be afforded.   Incredulous as this sounds the only motivation for such a lost data claim can only be to avoid embarrassment and limit the Inmarsat exposure in that regard.

This week, experts deconstructed the frequency of the “ping signals” reported to be from the missing black boxes and detected by search efforts off the coast of Australia.   In essence the frequency of the signals could just as easily have been from electronic net locators often used by commercial fishing enterprises and factory ships at sea.

Outside independent scientists again stymied in their requests to review the underwater ping data which is responsible for 17 ships and 23 aircraft from eight countries deploying 1416 sonobuoys costing $1018 each and totaling $1.4 million, ultimately to no avail.

What is now known are the frequencies detected by the Towed Ping Locator could have been from a myriad of possibilities, and the absence of locating the wreckage in the area of detection targets the highest likelihood the signals were never from the “black boxes”. (more…)

U.K. Independence Party (Ukip) Stuns British Political Establishment With Massive Cross-Party Success….

200px-UKIP_logoUkip is -for all intents and purposes- the closest ideological comparison to the U.S. Tea Party.   In England, prior to Ukip there were 3 primary parties:

  • ¹ Labor – Similar to U.S. Democrats
  • ² Tory – Similar to U.S. Republicans
  • ³ Lib-Dem – Similar to far left liberal Moonbats

You can see there are essentially two types of British Democrats: Labor and Lib-Dem; with Lib-Dem being the Alan Grayson socialist version.   The two often work together because they have similar vested interests; much like Moonbats, Dems, and blue-dogs here in the U.S.

However, there was only one party for a conservative minded person, the Tory party.    Yet the problem was/is Tory is much like our Republicans;  mostly establishment, and mostly RINO’s.

As a result of the Tory RINO-ism the “conservative element” within the Tory broke off and began the Ukip party – a 4th Party.   Ukip is now headed by Nigel Farage (you’ve probably seen his awesome U-Tube speeches which are often highlighted on conservative blogs).

The Ukip political party is similar in ideological make-up to the U.S. Tea Party, only they are an actual officially registered political party in England since around 1993.

Ukip believes in a libertarian perspective on individual freedom; generally seeks a smaller government; and strongly supports nationalism (exceptionalism), low taxes, the abolishment of ‘Death-Tax’, and strong immigration controls.

In the last several years, in addition to defections from the traditional Tory conservatives, the Ukip party has been attracting massive legions of “independent minded” people who are sick of the consequences they must suffer from due to liberal policies.   Notably mass immigration, and the creation of a social welfare state which is demanding more and more taxation and stifling growth (sound familiar?).

The generally liberal media in England have been portraying Ukip as fracturing the Tory’s, or conservatives.  [Again, sound familiar]  However in reality Ukip is gaining support from both sides; taking votes from Tory and Labor, and even unbelievably Lib-Dems.    (more…)

The PURSUIT Of Happiness – And Failure Is Our Friend

It’s about living life.  Sometimes we fall flat on our face, and sometimes we soar.  The exciting part is in the striving and uncertainty, goals to chase, and dreaming dreams.

Here is our friend, Bill Whittle, again.  As Bill points out, the Declaration of Independence is demonstrative that its writers understood the essence of the human heart:

When Thomas Jefferson came back with his draft of the Declaration of Independence, Franklin and Adams and all the other Founders must have been amazed: life – yes. Liberty – absolutely. But the pursuit of happiness? That wasn’t just revolutionary – it was transcendental.

See, Jefferson knew you didn’t have a right to happiness – who can guarantee that? But he had a vision of place that didn’t guarantee the right to be happy, but the right – the inalienable right — to try to be. What Jefferson guaranteed in the Declaration was not the certainty of success but the guaranteed opportunity to fail.

Stuck in Oz: “There’s no place like utopia” – New film exposes the failure of Progressivism

Film maker Joel Gilbert, taking a leaf from the Michael Moore book of politicized documentary filmmaking, travels across America to explore the wreckage of Progressive social and political policy.  In interviews with Progressives and former citizens of the Soviet Union, and from the ruins of Detroit to the slums of Chicago’s South Side, and  Denver’s illegal immigration invasion, Gilbert pulls back the curtain and reveals the fraud that is Oz.

He confronts Progressives on his quest, and takes us deep into their political fantasy of paradise on earth. There’s No Place Like Utopia is a humorous and horrifying exploration of Progressivism, amnesty for illegals, race relations, Islam in America, political correctness, and Barack Obama himself, who promises to “remake the world as it should be.”

It will be interesting to see if Gilbert’s expose rates the same acclaim and accolades as Moore’s work.

Predictable In The Extreme – Dem Rep James Clyburn Equates Benghazi Special Committee To Racist Motivation….

Forget the fact we still don’t know why Ambassador Stevens was in Benghazi. Forget the fact that none of the other injured victims have been allowed to testify publically about events in Benghazi. Forget the fact that both the White House and State Dept have fought to hide information about the Benghazi 9-11 attack. Forget the fact the CIA and White House are in direct contradiction to each other.  Forget the fact that for some reason the activity in Benghazi Libya was an unknown joint State Dept./CIA operation.   Forget the fact Obama, Clinton, Power and Rice armed al-Qaeda operatives, “the rebels” in Benghazi.

Forget all that stuff…. Any Libyan inquiry is grounded in a racist motivation. So sayeth the CBC and Clyburn.

The Huffington Post Does Not Know “SABO”…. They’re Blaming SABO Street Art on Greg Abbott

SABO

(Via Huffington Post)  Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis received a hostile greeting in Los Angeles Thursday morning, when life-sized posters depicting her as “Abortion Barbie” began popping up throughout the city ahead of her fundraiser there.

The posters say “Hollywood welcomes Abortion Barbie Wendy Davis,” and they show Davis’ face on a mostly-naked barbie doll with a plastic baby in her belly. Conservative pundit Erick Erickson nicknamed Davis “Abortion Barbie” earlier this year because when she was a state senator, she stood on her feet and spoke for 11 hours straight to filibuster a draconian package of anti-abortion bills. 103 Minutes Later The White House E-Mails Google – Darrell Issa Asks White House To Declassify Their 9:11pm Email to Google on Night of Benghazi Attack

For those of you following along, this is yet again MORE CONFIRMATION of Denis “The Fixer” McDonough being the origin of the construct.

•  7:28pm Denis McDonough is in oval office updating POTUS and VPOTUS on Benghazi attack (Mindset: it’s a State Dept / CIA issue – their operation)
•  9:11pm White House Emails Google about UTube Video. (CC: State Dept mail list – Author Unknown ? [Ben Rhodes Communications Director])
•  10:30pm Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama Talk
•  10:35pm State Dept gives public statement blaming Benghazi Attack on video.

White House 9-11-12

(Via ABC)  A still-classified State Department e-mail says that one of the first responses from the White House to the Benghazi attack was to contact YouTube to warn of the “ramifications” of allowing the posting of an anti-Islamic video, according to Rep. Darrell Issa, the Republican chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

The memo suggests that even as the attack was still underway — and before the CIA began the process of compiling talking points on its analysis of what happened — the White House believed it was in retaliation for a controversial video.

The subject line of the e-mail, which was sent at 9:11 p.m. Eastern Time on the night of the attack, is “Update on Response to actions – Libya.” The e-mail was written hours before the attack was over.

Issa has asked the White House to declassify and release the document. In the meantime he has inserted a sentence from the e-mail in the Congressional Record.

[Issa’s full statement HERE]

“White House is reaching out to U-Tube [sic] to advice ramification of the posting of the Pastor Jon video,” the e-mail reads, according to Issa.   (read more)

Will They Take His NBA Team Too ? Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban: “I’d Cross The Street If I Saw Black Kid In Hoodie At Night”…

Then again….  Jesse Jackson said almost an identical thing, so maybe Cuban’s safe.

It will be super interesting to see how the NBA owners vote on Sterling’s ouster, knowing they will be establishing a precedent for their own removal if they say something the mob -aka PC Police- doesn’t like….

mark cubanMark Cuban won’t shy away from the NBA’s most controversial subject.

The unfiltered Mavericks owner said he could see himself as a hypocrite if he votes in favor of Donald Sterling’s lifetime ban because he believes that he — everyone, really — is bigoted or prejudiced in some way, and he invoked the example of “a black kid in a hoodie” to try to make his point.

“I know I’m prejudiced. I know I’m bigoted in a lot of different ways,” he said in the interview with Inc. at their GrowCo business conference Wednesday in Nashville. “I’ve said this before: If I see a black kid in a hoodie at night on the same side of the street, I’m probably going to walk to the other side of the street. If I see a white guy with a shaved head and lots of tattoos, I’m going back to the other side of the street.  (read more)
