NEW YORK (AP) – “American Sniper” shot down another box-office record: Its $31.9 million is the biggest Super Bowl weekend gross ever.
According to studio estimates Sunday, the Clint Eastwood film narrowly surpassed the previous top Super Bowl weekend draw. The concert film “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour” earned $31.1 million in 2008.
Hollywood often avoids competing with the Super Bowl as movie-going falls dramatically on Sunday, but “American Sniper” has proven an unlikely sensation. It has now made $248.9 million in six weeks (and only three weeks of wide release), making it the most lucrative war movie ever released. (read more)
Here’s a local and lame media report, which includes a video segment, liable to add to the frustration meter. I doubt there is another region in the entire country whose media and reporters are as bad as North Mississippi.
PANOLA CO, MS (WMC) – It has been almost two months since Jessica Chambers was discovered horribly burned near her car in Panola County, Mississippi. Investigators say after more than 100 interviews, and one day away from what would have been Chambers’ 20th birthday, they still have no idea who killed her.
“We don’t know who it was,” D.A. John Champion said. Chambers’ friends and family are just a few of the people around the country who want to find #JusticeForJessica.
The publicity surrounding her story caused bloggers to take their opinions and push them online. Many of those bloggers are casting criticism on Champion and the investigation into Chambers’ death. (more…)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

The first president to live in the White House was John Adams, after it was constructed between 1792 and 1800. President George Washington never did, as most American school children learn in elementary school. So no, he never made booze in the White house.
Obama might have missed that since he was living in Indonesia as a young boy, or perhaps he started the Super Bowl partying a bit early.
LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) – It started with a complaint about a shoplifter, but it ended with an act of kindness. A London police officer took it upon himself to help a suspected shoplifter after realizing the man was in a difficult situation.
“As a police officer, it’s not black and white for us,” said Officer Justin Roby. “There’s a lot of gray. And you have to cipher through everything and you really need to figure out the whole story.”
Roby was called to the Kroger on North Main Street in London on Saturday, Jan. 17 after a loss prevention officer stopped a man who was shoplifting. (more…)
New England WINS 28 – 24 GREAT GAME !!
Half Time: Seattle 14 – New England 14
Now let’s get down to business.
Who are you cheering for? and, MORE IMPORTANTLY, what scrumptious snacks do you prepare for the Superbowl festivities?

The Washington Times has a strong exclusive story outlining the Hillary Clinton drive for regime change in Libya 2011. The article is quite well presented with never before heard tapes between U.S. officials and Gaddaffi loyalists who were trying to find a diplomatic solution to the crisis.
The article outlines many of the issues our previous research also uncovered, and presents the contrast between the Pentagon position and the State Department during the crisis in Libya.
However, there is one substantive factual flaw when the Washington Times outlines Hillary’s motive for regime change.
The author writes about the motive from the position of the known visible narrative chosen by Hillary to remove Gaddaffi. Which was to avoid a “humanitarian crisis”, similar to the Rwanda massacre. (more…)
We have talked about Republican Governor (WI) Scott Walker since 2010 and the Stand With Scott campaign. For all intents and purposes Walker remains very high in favorability because of what he has actually accomplished, not what he has talked about, amid a field of GOP hopefuls.
In my humble opinion Walker is the best candidate to actually unite the GOP. Scott Walker is acceptable to conservatives, Tea Party groups, and increasingly to establishment Republicans. It is good to see him getting the recognition.
(Via Bloomberg) Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is surging, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is an also-ran and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is dominating in a new poll of Iowans likely to vote in the nation’s first presidential nominating contest.

Good grief, this example of cultural marxism in a judicial setting takes the proverbial cake and every ingredient therein….

Via Moonbattery – Among the many tragic casualties of political correctness is the fundamental pillar of civilization known as rule of law. First we hear of the US Government unlawfully pulling copyright protection from the trademarked name “Washington Redskins” on the grounds that liberals have been pretending the name is “racist.” Now in Canada, somebody’s will has been deemed racist and therefore void:
When Eric Spence died two years ago, with no family by the curmudgeon’s bedside, the Jamaican-born man left a last will and testament that disinherited the daughter he raised and left all his worldly belongings to the daughter he hadn’t seen in more than 30 years.
“I specifically bequeath nothing to my daughter, Verolin Spence, as she has had no communication with me for several years and has shown no interest in me as her father,” the spiteful 71-year-old Maple widower wrote in his will.
