This interview is more about policy than personality. Good interview:
Insightful article written by a person who knows Donald Trump well. What is described reflects several key distinctions visible amid the current situation.
- #1 – Donald Trump brings a deliberate sense that no other candidate can match.
- #2 – Donald Trump exists in that rarefied space inhabited by those who represent risk to the power elite, and they don’t have to worry about any risk themselves. The ‘nothing to lose’ space.
- #3 – Donald Trump will win the nomination and, free to ‘call-the-baby-ugly’, destroy any remaining political opposition in the November ’16 general election.
(Via Washington Times) Despite Donald Trump’s meteoric rise to the top of the Republican presidential polls, the GOP establishment continues to bash its leading candidate. Apparently “party-cide” is contagious: The Democratic establishment continues to ride the sinking Clinton campaign like the string quartet on the deck of the Titanic — the majority of Americans know she’s a liar and don’t trust her. It’s a fight to the death all right, only each party’s pointing a gun at its own head.
GOP establishment favorite Jeb Bush is hemorrhaging voters too. CBS News/YouGov shows Bush coming in a pathetic eighth place in New Hampshire and doing only marginally better in Iowa, where he now places fifth. (more…)
George Will had a column yesterday in the Washington Post about a conversation with Ted Cruz’s election strategist. Within the article Jason Johnson shares how the Cruz campaign feels they can win the GOP nomination.
The pathway, as described, is so far beyond possible, it leaves the reader wondering what exactly is the real goal of this campaign. We’ve looked at this “plan” in detail, and will outline later today. However, for those who fully understand the state-by-state primary races, you might first want to read the full plan as outlined by the Cruz team. (Here’s An Internal Tool to cross reference the states mentioned)
(Via George Will WaPo) If America’s 58th presidential election validates Ted Cruz’s audacious “base plus” strategy, he will have refuted assumptions about the importance of independent “swing” voters and the inertia of many missing voters.
Critics say his plan for pursuing the Republican nomination precludes winning the presidency. Jason Johnson, Cruz’s chief strategist, responds: “I’m working backward from Election Day,” because Cruz’s plan for winning the necessary 1,236 convention delegates is an extrapolation from his strategy for winning 270 electoral votes.
All presidential campaigns aspire to favorably change the composition of the electorate. Cruz aims to substantially reconfigure the electorate as it has recently been. (more…)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †
Angela Merkel has opened the doors of Germany to a massive influx of mid-east immigrants under the guise of “refugees”. Unfortunately now they are beginning to suffer the consequences. The head of the German police union, Rainer Wendt, even went so far as to say on television the Islamists “instinctively know that our laws are weak“.
GERMANY – A mass brawl occurred between refugees from Afghanistan and Albania. Some 60 refugees went after one another in the camp in the Wilhelmsburg district on Tuesday evening. Some were armed with iron bars, also witnesses had testified that a refugee had a firearm, a police spokesman said.
In Lower Saxony in Braunschweig there was also an altercation between 300 to 400 refugees between Algerians and Syrians from a dispute over stolen goods.
In the brawl in Hamburg five refugees were injured, one got a wound in his arm and had to be hospitalized. Whether they were stabbed, was initially unclear. The police had deployed a large contingent on site to separate the warring Afghans and Albanians, said the spokesman. 30 police cars were in use. (more…)

(CNN) – Two powerful bombs exploded near the main train station in Ankara on Saturday morning, causing carnarge, killing at least 86 people and injuring 186 others, in the deadliest attack in the Turkish capital in recent memory.
The explosion, which caused chaos and bloodshed, took place during a peace march involving, among others, the pro-Kurdish HDP, or People’s Democratic Party. The attack also came before national elections scheduled for November 1. The FDU poll of 825 Registered voters reflects an exceptionally broad base of electoral support for candidate Donald Trump.
[…] Twenty-six percent of registered Republicans say they would vote for Trump if the election were held today with similar numbers (22%) identifying Carson as their candidate of choice. No other candidate achieved double digit status in the poll, with many “Establishment” candidates mired in the single digits. For example, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie — both early frontrunner contenders — attract the support of seven and three percent of registered Republicans, respectively. Former CEO of Hewlett-Packard Carly Fiorina, the sole woman amongst the crowded field, garners seven percent.

[…] The most recent survey by Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind was conducted by telephone from October 1-5, 2015 using a randomly selected sample of 824 registered voters nationwide. One can be 95 percent confident that the error attributable to sampling has a range of +/- 4.1 percentage points (link)
