Remember, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, together with Tom Donohue of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, are committed to seeing Common Core education standards strictly enforced. They will be running campaign attack ads against anyone who opposes “Common Core”.

ALIFORNIA – Civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson plans to lead a delegation to the Hewlett-Packard annual shareholders meeting on Wednesday to bring attention to Silicon Valley’s poor record of including blacks and Latinos.
Jackson’s strategy borrows from the traditional civil rights era playbook of shaming companies to prod them into transformation. Now he is bringing it to the age of social media and a booming tech industry known for its disruptive innovation.
Earl “Butch” Graves Jr., president and CEO of Black Enterprise magazine, says Jackson is shining a light on the fact that technology companies don’t come close to hiring or spending what is commensurate with the demographics of their customers. (more…)
I shall not point out the obvious. Even though the media avoid it.
KANSAS CITY – Kansas City Zoo goers described Tuesday afternoon running for their lives after hundreds of teens were involved in fights inside the zoo and shots were fired in a zoo parking lot. “It was very scary,” Liberty resident Jaimi Heckadon said. “All hell broke loose.”
As she and her group bolted for the exit, Heckadon said she heard people screaming about officers using pepper spray. “The problem was these teenagers. None of them were escorted by an adult,” she said.

(Newsbusters) Lest there be any doubt, Amanda Marcotte really hates pro-lifers.
In a two-part rant posted March 14 and 17 on Raw Story, the morally challenged feminist writer attacked pro-lifers as “consummate liars,” “anti-choice kooks” with “boring,” “half-baked nonsense” and “shit arguments.”
But Marcotte’s hate doesn’t stop at pro-lifers. It extends to the babies they want to protect.
“Either way, what she [the woman] wants trumps the non-existent desires of a mindless pre-person that is so small it can be removed in about two minutes during an outpatient procedure. Your cavities fight harder to stay in place.”
Did she just compare an unborn child to a cavity? (more…)
The only thing the aggrieved New York Minorities have to do to get a windfall of money is show that they took the FDNY service exam. Hizzoner claims it was racist to make firefighter applicants take a written test, since Blacks and Hispanics do not perform as well as whites and Asians on academic tests. Ergo competency tests present a “disparate impact”.
DeBlasio is taking $98 million of taxpayer funds and redistributing it to blacks and Hispanics as “back pay” for work they never did, for a job they were never qualified for. While simultaneously announcing that he is creating new positions in the FDNY that will solely exist to ensure that blacks and Hispanics do not have to pass the same intelligence and competency exams as Whites and non-minorities.
NEW YORK – The de Blasio Administration today announced an agreement to settle the 2007 Vulcan Society’s lawsuit against the City of New York over two civil service exams found to be discriminatory against African American and Hispanic applicants.
The City has agreed to pay approximately $98 million in back pay and benefits to African American and Hispanic firefighter applicants who took two civil service exams in 1999 and 2002, and will implement additional reforms in the FDNY’s recruiting policies in an effort to further diversify the ranks of the organization to make them more representative of the city’s population. When historians look back on the Obama presidency one thing will be certain, his supporters, and those who voted for him, were oblivious idiots. This latest discovery –THE GREG MEMO– shows after taking office President Obama penned an immediate executive order to essentially re-write the Freedom of Information Act – and grant the White House full review and edit authority of all records.
Transparency eh’ ?
WASHINGTON DC – It’s Sunshine Week, so perhaps some enterprising White House reporter will ask press secretary Jay Carney why President Obama rewrote the Freedom of Information Act without telling the rest of America.
The rewrite came in an April 15, 2009, memo from then-White House Counsel Greg Craig instructing the executive branch to let White House officials review any documents sought by FOIA requestors that involved “White House equities.”
That phrase is nowhere to be found in the FOIA, yet the Obama White House effectively amended the law to create a new exception to justify keeping public documents locked away from the public. (more…)
Oy,… There’s a headline you don’t see often. Lesbian…. Solidarity…. Islamic Law ? Seriously, can she be a bigger doofus ? Someone might want to tell Chief Harteau the Sharia folk don’t like “teh gay” aspect.
(Via Front Page Mag) When the left finally cracks up, the few survivors will have a really good laugh.
According to a Facebook post, Somali staffers that work at Minneapolis City Hall declared February 28 “Hijab Day” at City Hall and convinced the police chief and female city council reps to wear hijabs on the job.
Pictures include: Minneapolis police chief Janee Harteau (who recently married her favorite female sergeant – not very hijab like), city council members Elizabeth Glidden and Lisa Bender as well as other staffers. (more…)
Talk about pathetic political correctness and overblown response….
OH’ CANADA – The University of Regina is responding after a photo depicting some members of the school’s cheerleading team posing in stereotypical “cowboys and Indians” costumes sparked outrage over the web.

Some of the women in the Instagram picture are wearing plaid shirts and cowboy hats, while others have feathers, headbands and braids in their hair and dresses that are made to look like they’re made from animal skin.
University of Regina President Vianne Timmons issued a written release Sunday acknowledging that the team was part of a social event Friday evening that included “culturally inappropriate themes and costumes.”

Oklahoma – Just like they do every year, a contingent of county sheriffs met at Oklahoma’s state capitol building to meet with lawmakers and lobby for the things they need.
Unlike before, however, they were asked to check in their sidearms after a senator complained Tuesday. So they left, according to Wagoner county sheriff Bob Colbert.
“Everybody in that building knew who we were,” Colbert told Tulsa ABC affiliate KTUL. He was asked to remove his weapon, as were the other sheriffs in the group.
“One of the senators, who they wouldn’t tell us, complained because we were armed in the building,” he said.
The choice came down to removing their weapons or removing themselves.
“So we all packed up and left,” he said, adding,. “We’re the people that protect these people.” (read more)
The victim, 54 year old David Peterson, was actually on the phone with police when he was shot in the chest.

SEATTLE, WA – A 17-year-old boy accused of killing a Seattle man after the other man fought off a robbery attempt has been charged as an adult.
Charged with first-degree murder, Byron White is alleged to have shot and killed David Peterson on Feb. 23 in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood. White was arrested at Sea-Tac Airport attempting to board a flight to Atlanta.
King County prosecutors contend White, a Ballard High School student, first approached Peterson at 8:30 p.m. in the 8500 block of First Avenue Northwest.
White attempted to steal Peterson’s cell phone, but Peterson, 54, fought him off, according to prosecutors. White is alleged to have walked away, then doubled back and shot Peterson in the chest, killing him. (more…)
