The FBI works for, and falls under the authority of, the Federal Department of Justice, Eric Holder.   Which brings in a strange series of questions regarding the stoppage of questioning by the FBI of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.   Megyn Kelly outlines the initial issue:

Initially the feds proclaimed Tsarnaev would fall under the “public safety exception to miranda” which would have given them 48 hours to question him prior to the delivery of Miranda protection.   The feds didn’t even need to charge him with anything right away – but they did.   In addition, something, obviously unexpected by the FBI interrogators, was changed.  Who changed it? Why? and why was the FBI not notified of the intent to change direction?

One of the frustrating realities of our polarized time is the media creating a skewed and left leaning view of all things political. However, even with this headwind, each day many more people choose to engage in and honest discovery and understanding of what’s going on. Whether because they stumble upon a concern, or whether they happen across some information that makes them rethink their prior position and views, it can lead to an engagement with us from a perspective of their only reality view having been determined by the lens of the media.

Indeed that can be, and often is, an incredibly frustrating conversation because they bring an embedded and sometimes flawed bias into their narrative. One of the more common misunderstandings stems from the media hatred of George W Bush and his actions, aptly called Bush Derangement Syndrome (BSD).

What I want to do here is not change anyone’s mind, but rather to remind people what led to some of Dubya’s decisions in his own words.

I must first emphasize at the time of Dubya’s tenure in the White House I was not a supporter of many “Bush policies”, however, I did understand his reasoning.

Sometimes research into “why” was needed to understand this reasoning, but there were valid reasons nonetheless. It is unfair for the liberal media, or for any Johnny-come-lately to re-write his motivation as illicit, it was not. In hindsight some of his policies and approaches may have been wrong, but it generally is unfair to look in the rear view mirror to judge. BOSTON, MA –  Regular viewers of Fox News are used to seeing popular host Megyn Kelly on their televisions every afternoon, but on Thursday morning Kelly made a special appearance during the morning to break some surprising information: according to her sources, the FBI was “shocked” to see a magistrate “waltz into” the hospital room of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and read him his Miranda rights.

So why were they shocked? According to Kelly, the FBI was under the understanding that they would get much more time with Tsarnaev under the “public safety exemption” before he was read his rights. The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is used by just about every liberal media outlet to manipulate the narrative of extremist terrorists as being from the “far right”.   SPLC spokesperson Mark Potac is on television weekly selling this narrative;  The most recent example was his appearance, early on following the Boston Bombing, claiming the bombers were most likely right-wing extremists.

But the Family Research Council shooter, Floyd Corkins, tells the FBI he drew his hit list from the leftist SPLC. (more…)

It’s not a question of whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lied, she did.   But, again we knew that at the time – the latest information from the Congressional Hearing report only confirms it.

The bigger question is what are they going to do about it?

WASHINGTON DC – House Republicans released their report on the investigation into the Benghazi terrorist attack, having concluded that then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was not telling the truth when she told Congress that she wasn’t aware that officials at the U.S. mission in Benghazi had requested extra security.

“The specific security requests pertaining to Benghazi, you know were handled by the security professionals in the department,” Clinton told Congress in January. “I didn’t see those requests, they didn’t come to me, I didn’t approve them, I didn’t deny them.”

The House report suggests that Clinton received a request for more security from Gene Cretz, who preceded Christopher Stevens as ambassador to Libya. (more…)

This story, today’s headline, and how the Treepers review it, is what makes the Treehouse different – As pointed out by Treeper Woohoowee the House Report is an example of presenting information “as if” the desire of the GOP is to reveal the Truth – It is NOT.   The GOP report completely skips the issues of 9/11, 9/12, 9/13 and 9/14 2012 and instead focuses on the “why did the administration change the narrative” beginning 9/15/12.

The congressional report completely skips the heart of the matter in a politically motivated attempt to rebut a series of known lies, misleading statements, and false claims.  In doing so, the report, and those who wrote it, do a horrid injustice to the quest for TRUTH.

However, we hold no predisposition of avoidance.

A Typical Media Report of the Congressional finding looks like this:  House Republicans have concluded that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was responsible for cutting security at the consulate in Benghazi ahead of last year’s attack there, and that the administration lied about why it downplayed terrorism as the cause of the assault. Under the premise expressed by Law Enforcement of “exigent circumstances” the U.S. Constitution’s 4th amendment deserves a revisit.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.  [Fourth Amendment – U.S. Constitution] 

The Fourth Amendment (Amendment IV) to the United States Constitution is the part of the Bill of Rights which guards against unreasonable searches and seizures, along with requiring any warrant to be judicially sanctioned and supported by probable cause. It was adopted as a response to the abuse of the writ of assistance, which is a type of general search warrant, in the American Revolution. Search and seizure (including arrest) should be limited in scope according to specific information supplied to the issuing court, usually by a law enforcement officer, who has sworn by it. The Fourth Amendment applies to the states by way of the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. (more…)

Floyd Corkins, the shooter who attempted a mass killing at the Family Research Council at the ideological behest of the SPLC, is on trial.    The government said, in making its recommendation  for 45 years in prison, that if not for the security guard’s actions, Corkins ‘would have almost  certainly succeeded in committing a massacre of epic portions.’

(Via Daily Mail) The sandwich-heavy contents of his backpack may look amusing, but government prosecutors are demanding that the Virginia man who attempted a killing spree at the Family Research Council last year deserves a 45 year sentence.

Floyd Corkins II entered the the Washington headquarters of the conservative Christian lobbying group in August with nearly 100 rounds of ammunition and 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches stuffed in his bag as part of an elaborate plan to shoot as many people as possible. (more…)
