Orlando – Cecil Smith was sworn in as Sanford’s new police chief this morning and vowed to spend as much time in the community as he does behind his desk.

Smith, the former deputy chief in Elgin, Ill., was sworn in by Mayor Jeff Triplett at City Hall. About 100 people attended the event, including city commissioners, Seminole Sheriff Don Eslinger and dozens of police officers. (more)

(Via Freedomworks)  I am currently in my freshman year of high school and the incidents are happening more frequently and I believe are more severe.  As you can imagine, the ongoing pressure and bullying has been disturbing to me, my friends and my family.

Just before the 2010 Midterm election, I was on the front page of the local newspaper for my political volunteer work and my teachers noticed. One of my seven teachers made it very clear that she dissaproved of my civic engagement. In a period of two months, my Geography teacher frequently would take me aside after school for a few minutes and tell me how stupid, wrong and misguided I was for being Republican. The harassment with this specific teacher got so bad, I had to switch schools halfway through the year.  At this time I was only 12 years old. To my knowledge, this teacher was not disciplined at all for her actions. (more…)

You might have begun the day with thoughtful reflection for the Rising of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.   You might have even gathered your family to discuss how the death of the Son of God was to forgive us our sins and grant absolution for all those who proclaim His name.

You might have even held each other close in celebration of the joyous gift we recognize this day filled with eternal light, love and grace.  

Perhaps you clasped hands and gave consideration for the abundant kindness and strength of Christianity in the face of overwhelming adversity and prayed for those who trespass against us. 

Perhaps.

But not Obama.

No, instead he chose to sit and worship at the altar of almighty self-righteous indignation.  When you point outward you “Forgive not your trespasses for you forgive not those who have trespassed against you”….

(CBS) — Chicago police made several arrests Saturday evening following another “wilding” scene instigated by young people along the Magnificent Mile.

Photographers shot chaotic video of police officers and vehicles swarming Michigan Avenue near Huron and detaining several young people around 7:30 p.m. Some of the disturbance leaked onto Chicago Avenue near State Street on a relatively warm night with temperatures in the 50s.

Chicago Police News Affairs confirmed officers arrested “a number of offenders” and said charges were pending. Details weren’t available.

But community activist Andrew Holmes, who happened to be shopping with a relative in the upscale retail district, described a scene in which hundreds of young people misbehaved, with some of them harassing and attacking people on the street. (more…)

It has been noted on multiple GZ talk sites, and we’ve rec’d a few emails about, general mistakes and misperceptions which are leading many people into far afield hypothesis.  Especially about the newly released W8 Handwritten statement/letter.   Rather than answer each email individually the below information should clarify our research and understanding.

I don’t know if these distractions are intentional, or just because new people are joining in the various discoveries and beginning to “wake up”….

This article is representative of why we cannot have an honest discussion about violence in this country without being labeled as racist.

One of the key tenets of Progs is their capacity to use congnitive dissonance to reconcile their arguments/positions.  They ignore the water in the rain and describe getting wet as a problem.  The truth does not fit this agenda.

Articles and interviews would flood the media, and we’d have political debates demanding that African Americans be “held accountable.” Then, if an atrocity such as the Newtown, Conn., shootings took place and African American male leaders held a news conference to offer solutions, their credibility would be questionable. The public would tell these leaders that they need to focus on problems in their own culture and communities.

But when the criminals and leaders are white men, race and gender become the elephant in the room.

Nearly all of the mass shootings in this country in recent years — not just Newtown, Aurora, Fort Hood, Tucson and Columbine — have been committed by white men and boys. Yet when the National Rifle Association (NRA), led by white men, held a news conference after the Newtown massacre to advise Americans on how to reduce gun violence, its leaders’ opinions were widely discussed. It has been almost two years since we first discussed the rampant corruption in the Atlanta (Georgia) Public School System.   The initial reports were alarming beyond measure, and now the criminal charges are being discussed/levied.

ATLANTA – In another embarrassing blow to Atlanta public schools, nearly three dozen  former educators, including the ex-superintendent, were indicted Friday in one  of the nation’s largest test cheating scandals.

Former Superintendent Beverly Hall  (pictured left) faced charges including racketeering,  false statements and theft because prosecutors said some of the bonuses she  received were tied to falsified scores.

Hall retired just days before a state probe was released in 2011. She has  long denied knowing about the cheating or ordering it.

During a news conference Friday, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard  provided examples of two students who demonstrated “the plight of many children”  in the Atlanta school system. He described a third-grader who failed a benchmark  exam and received the worst score in her reading class in 2006. The girl was  held back, yet when she took a separate assessment test not long after, she  passed with flying colors. (more…)

What is it with the Socialist, Progressive mindset? Why do they think that all production value (earnings) belong to the state? Seriously. Washington Times – A court may have shot down French President Francois Hollande’s attempt to stick the wealthy with a 75 percent tax on earnings above a certain amount. But he’s not giving up. Mr. Hollande’s new plan: Stick the 75 percent tax on businesses.

Companies — not individuals — would have to pay the high tax on any salaries that are paid over a million euros, under Mr. Hollande’s latest proposal, Newsmax reports.

“I am sticking by my pledge,” Mr. Holland said, as quoted in Newsmax.

The Socialist leader is trying to reignite a sluggish economy — as he promised during his campaign — but is facing dwindling poll numbers and approval ratings. His recent attempt to tax wealthy at a 75 percent rate was denied in a constitutional court.  (read more)
