You might have begun the day with thoughtful reflection for the Rising of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. You might have even gathered your family to discuss how the death of the Son of God was to forgive us our sins and grant absolution for all those who proclaim His name.
You might have even held each other close in celebration of the joyous gift we recognize this day filled with eternal light, love and grace.
Perhaps you clasped hands and gave consideration for the abundant kindness and strength of Christianity in the face of overwhelming adversity and prayed for those who trespass against us.
Perhaps.
But not Obama.
No, instead he chose to sit and worship at the altar of almighty self-righteous indignation. When you point outward you “Forgive not your trespasses for you forgive not those who have trespassed against you”….
WASHINGTON DC – The pastor at the Washington, D.C. church where the Obama family celebrated Easter on Sunday said members of the religious right want blacks “in the back of the bus,” women “back in the kitchen” and immigrants “back on their side of the border.”
“It drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are always calling us back…for blacks to be back in the back of the bus…for women to be back in the kitchen…for immigrants to be back on their side of the border,” Rev. Dr. Luis Leon said in his sermon, according to the White House press pool report.
Reuters reporter Jeff Mason tweeted that Leon also said the religious right wants gays in the closet.
The president, first lady Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia walked to St. John’s Episcopal Church, located across the street from the White House. (read more)
