McDonalds sought to deflect pressure from the BGI and Professional Left over Franchise Law (NLRB), employment, and pay rates. So they took a proactive position and hired a black CEO. Three consecutive years of failure, dismal sales and market share losses ensued. The worst leadership run in the history of the organization.
However, now Al Sharpton and the Obama administration (using the NLRB) are likely to strike back. Yet consider this: immediately the stock soared on the news of Thompson’s firing; which would indicate the shareholders would rather face Sharpton/Obama than deal with a continued idiot at the helm.
BLOOMBERG – McDonald’s Corp., the world’s largest restaurant chain, will replace Chief Executive Officer Don Thompson with one of his top lieutenants following the company’s worst U.S. sales slump in more than a decade.
Chief Brand Officer Steve Easterbrook will take the reins when Thompson steps down on March 1, the Oak Brook, Illinois-based company said in a statement Wednesday. Easterbrook, currently a senior executive vice president, also will join the board, filling Thompson’s vacated seat, the company said. Thompson, 51, had been in the CEO job fewer than three years.
“With sales stagnant for this long, there’s been a lot of push for change,” said Will Slabaugh, an analyst at Stephens Inc. in Little Rock, Arkansas. “They had to show investors they’re serious about changing and improving sales.” (more…)
You just can’t make this stuff up. An initial meeting to discuss the possibility of a citizen review board had to be cancelled because the Ferguson “FTP” protestors break out in a violent chamber rampage… Massive Irony = The police had to be called to restore order.
ST. LOUIS • An open meeting at City Hall on the creation of a civilian oversight board of the police department devolved into a melee on Wednesday night, further exposing the city’s deep divisions over race and law enforcement.

The meeting held by the aldermanic public safety committee, designed to seek public comment, lasted over an hour with little event as residents ticked off the pros and cons of having a civilian board to review police conduct and procedures.
But the crowd became unsettled when police officers began testifying in opposition to the bill. At times, Alderman Terry Kennedy, who chairs the committee, struggled to keep order. The noise in the room spiked as police officers attempted to testify. (more…)

Jessica Lane Chambers was born on February 2nd 1995. Next week she would have been 20-years-old however, she was brutally murdered on December 6th and despite a $53,000 reward the lead investigator, District Attorney John Champion, shares the case is at a standstill.
With no new evidence surfacing, it makes you wonder why the DA would be reluctant to provide the full CCTV video from her last known location – At this point, what would the police have to lose.
MISSISSIPPI – […] The brutal death of the happy teen with the sunny disposition almost two months ago has turned Courtland and Batesville upside down as people have tried to make sense of it, and tried to figure out not if there’s a killer in their midst, but who it might be.
Chambers was found on Herron Road in Courtland a little after 8 p.m. on Dec. 6, walking away from her burning vehicle with burns over 98 percent of her body. She died of those wounds. (more…)
Charles Blow is a racial antagonist, it’s what he does – it’s all he does. He wrote at length about how angry he was because his son was detained by a Yale Campus Police Officer – #BlackLivesMatter and #FTP in full swing. However, what he didn’t say was that the Campus officer was black, and/or that the Campus police Chief is also black.
Guess that doesn’t support his narrative….
(VIA WASHINGTON EXAMINER) On Saturday, Blow wrote on Twitter that he was “fuming” over a call he received from his son, a third-year student at Yale. He wrote that his son was “accosted” and held up at gunpoint by a Yale policeman because he fit the description of a suspect. Blow’s son, Tahj Blow, is an ecology and evolutionary biology major, according to the Yale Daily News.
In follow-up tweets related to the incident, Blow said, “This is exactly why I have no patience for people trying to convince me that the fear these young black men feel isn’t real.” He also tweeted the phrases “I can’t breathe” and “Black lives matter,” both of which are associated with two unarmed black men killed by white police officers in separate incidents in Missouri and New York. WSJ Report: "U.S. Spies on Millions of Cars" – Aligns With Our 2013/2014 Maryland MCAC Hub Research…
This is one of those stories when we really wish we had been wrong in our 2013, 2014 research. [Previously outlined HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE]

Over a year ago we brought you the story of Mr. Filippidis and his family, a Florida Driver who was pulled over by law enforcement in Maryland. The traffic stop would have been typical except for the fact the responding officer demanded, at random, Mr. Filippidis’s firearm.
Mr. Filippidis did not have his legally owned -CCW permitted- hand gun, it was home in Florida. Nor did Mr. Filippidis ever say he had a firearm – yet the officer was insistent Mr. Filippidis owned one, handcuffed Mr. Filippidis, and strip searched his vehicle on the side of the road.
Numerous Maryland state police arrived to assist in the search. They found nothing, because Mr. F was telling the truth. After two hours Mr. Filippidis and his family were allowed to continue their travels, but the entire process was unnerving.
Which prompted Mr. Filippidis to ask “how did a Maryland officer know I was a gun owner”? Which led to a severely awkward litany of obfuscations and explanations from Maryland that did not make sense. (more…)

Police have a tough job. However, like all professions there are good police officers and bad police officers. Unfortunately, when you encounter a bad police officer the disparity of power over your liberty is beyond that found in any other person-to-person engagement. Therefore a higher standard of conduct is both expected and required.
Between the terms “legally justifiable” and “reasonable under the circumstances” there is a razor thin dividing line where police officers can, at times, walk tenuously on either side – depending on their own dispositions. This recent shooting is one such example.
Depending on your own individual perspectives and experiences you can view this video as “justifiable” and/or “excessive”, and perhaps even both.
