Sybrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Martin, and a legion of like-minded grievance specialists, is/are trying to get Stand Your Ground (self-defense) laws removed from twenty six states who currently have such laws on the books.
This is not a new proposition for the ideological fellowship.   They have been working on this for a few years now.   Actually, the backstory of SYG opposition prior to the Trayvon Martin shooting helps to understand why they chose to use the Martin incident as their springboard.
The Coalition To Stop Gun Violence, which is actually a stealth gun removal team, released a PSA to support their endeavors.   To say the PSA is a false construct is a massive understatement:

There are actually multiple grievance issues in current alignment. The Trial Lawyers Association do not like ‘Stand Your Ground’ because it provides for financial immunity in your defense; thereby eliminating the possibility of wrongful death lawsuits.
However, the Black Racial Grievance Industry, the social engineers, have perhaps the most absurd of all alignment positions.

Four West Pensacola juveniles and a 19-year-old, attacked a 77-year-old man Monday night, according to an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office news release.  […]  The incident happened about 9 p.m. Monday when dispatchers received a report of several teenagers chasing a man with a stick, the news release said.
The victim, John Garland Redick, encountered the teens on a boardwalk near the Big Lots parking lot at the 400 block of North Navy Boulevard and was assaulted, according to an arrest report.  (link)

(Saint Paul ) Four young males have been arrested after the senseless, brutal beating of a man on a late-night walk Sunday on St. Paul’s East Side, police said Friday.
The victim, Ray Widstrand, 26, of St. Paul, (pictured left) reportedly was in critical condition at Regions Hospital with potentially fatal brain swelling.
Police found Widstrand lying on the ground, bleeding from his nose and mouth, his pants removed and shirt torn, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Ramsey County attorney’s office.

(Via Breitbart) Many are asking questions about the silence from civil right “leaders” such as Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton about the recent beating of a white student by three black classmates on a Florida school bus, given their role in turning the Trayvon Martin case into a national civil rights controversy. I caught up with Rev. Jackson at Chicago’s annual Bud Billiken Back-to-School Parade on Saturday.

Because obfuscating real crime and racism with false crimes and racism has proven to be a modern effective strategy of the BGI.   What would ‘white guilt’ be without it...
Alas the problem for the Winfrey team becomes the truth of Trayvon Martin:  A street thug, kicked out of home by his own mother, known burglar, admitted drug user, violent 17-year-old, diverted for behavioral issues by the criminal justice system, and trial evidence which clearly shows he initiated the fight with George Zimmerman which led to his own death as Mr. Zimmerman was defending himself.
But why let the facts get in the way when you have a grievance story to create and sell?
National Review – While promoting her upcoming movie about a longtime black employee of the White House, The Butler, Oprah Winfrey said an interview that the death of Trayvon Martin was the “same thing” as the lynching of Emmett Till, a 14-year-old African-American boy killed in 1955 for allegedly flirting with a white woman. “Trayvon Martin — parallel to Emmett Till,” she said.

“Let me just tell you — in my mind, same thing,” she said in a preview of an interview with The Grio, an NBC [Black] News website. (more…)

A recent interview with the Gulfport Florida bus driver, John Moody, reveals he just didn’t want to intervene.
Moody reportedly retired after the school district launched an internal
investigation. The case was turned over to the state attorney’s office, but
prosecutors said Thursday Moody’s actions didn’t rise to the level of child
neglect.  (link)
Unlike the previously released bus footage, the race of the driver appears to play a larger role than initially evidenced.  The local police asked the District Attorney to file negligence charges against Mr. Moody.   The DA chose not to pursue charges.

What is really at play here, in addition to the 15-year-old thugs who beat the 13-year-old white boy, is *why* the bus driver did not engage to assist. One can only imagine how the BGI and NAACP would approach the issue if the driver were white, the thugs white, and the younger victim black.
In this case, according to the Sharpton, Jackson and Jealous contingent, this beatdown could not be considered racist because the victim was white.  And all media efforts are desperate now, framed to protect the bus driver from any consequences to his lack of action. (more…)

Police in Gulfport have requested a local DA to file a charge against a bus driver for failing to be George Zimmerman.    Well, kinda…  watch the video and you’ll see the issue:

What is really at play here is *why* the bus driver did not engage to assist. However, against the demands of the Natalie Jackson types for young black males to be left alone to roam at will and never challenged, he was, and is, between a racial rock, and a racist hard place.
One can only imagine how the BGI and NAACP would approach the driver if he did step forth to defend the white student from the mob beating.  [Think, “he shoulda stayed in his car seat]  After all, according to the Sharpton, Jackson and Jealous contingent, this beatdown could not be considered racist because the victim was white.

During the time the jury was deliberating, and in anticipation of a possible guilty verdict, I had written a post outlining what was structurally wrong with the basis of the “optics” in the defense case.  It contained, essentially,  two possible issues to think about:

Then, as I was going to delete the post, it occurred to me that even in victory it actually still applies.
Why?
Well the structure of what I had written was about the aspects never presented to the jury.  What I realized in reading it yesterday, was it still applies – only this time with modifications to explain why the viewing public had such a negative outcome to the verdict.
In essence, the same reason(s) the jury could have found George guilty, is the very same reason(s) the public is unable to accept his acquittal.
FIRST: Mark O’Mara spent 4 minutes of silence to prove what exactly?
Sure, the implication was that Trayvon should have made it home;  But he never actually said that directly, instead he just implied it was a possibility.  Which “implies” Trayvon could have hidden around laying in wait for the “creepy ass cracka” to show up.  But again he never actually presented the basis for Trayvon provoking the encounter.
