The Democrats want to add removal of the “Sequester Cuts” into the budgetary maneuvers.  Essentially, last year the Dem’s made a strategic blunder;  thinking they had the Republicans backed into a corner with the following proposition:  ‘Either raise taxes *OR* watch horrible cuts to Defense spending”.  
What Dem’s didn’t realize at the time was the strength of the conservative pressure on the traditional GOP.   As a consequence the “Sequester” was not seen as unpalatable as Harry Reid thought, the common sense conservative electorate shrugged off the threat and said fine let the future military spending shrink – and retain tax rates. 
The outcome was Dem’s proclaiming the Sequester was the end of the world.  It didn’t end.  And so today…..

Ouch.   Just another of those unintended consequences from passing a bill before reading, and enacting before it’s ready.

HatTip dmoseylou – Here’s the summary:   A guy is actually able to navigate the HHS Obamacare website.   He completes his registration, enters in all the information, reviews his options to select coverage, sees the price and then declines to accept.
Essentially he almost enrolls but then chooses to do further research and find if additional private coverage not on the exchange might be available for him.
Should be no big deal right?
WRONG.
A few days pass and what does he get in the mail?   A bill from the IRS for $95 for not selecting a coverage plan.   Yes, that’s right – he got the first year penalty immediately assessed just for NOT enrolling.
D’oh,….. Apparently the system is set up to recognize such consumers as “uninsured” and assumes you will not get alternate coverage.  Ergo you are uninsured and now subject to the penalty…. so, pay you must !

Democrat Corey Booker is, well, quite frankly, the most accurate personification of a limousine liberal you can currently find.

By profession Booker is the current Mayor of Newark, New Jersey.

He’s also running for the currently open New Jersey Senate seat.

Only there’s one pesky factoid beginning to surface; not only does Mr. Booker not live in Newark, he might not even live in New Jersey and his disclosure forms for the U.S. Senate -which include address/residency requirements- appear to have been generously fudged.

What’s great about the video is the honesty and humanity from the people being interviewed. Ms. Donna Jackson and Ms. Cassandra Dock are just like us, ordinary citizens doing the best they can to get by. WASHINGTON DC – On Friday, conservative talk radio host Mark Levin said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) needed to be defeated in his primary next year for conservatism to succeed.

“I believe Mitch McConnell should be defeated in Kentucky,” Levin said on his radio show, calling McConnell an “awful Republican leader. Awful.” McConnell is being challenged by Tea Party candidate Matt Bevin.

Hours after Sean Hannity said House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and the House Republican leadership needed to be replaced, Levin said he has said for years that Boehner should be defeated and referred to McConnell as “more of a schemer” than Boehner. He said the current Republican leadership will never fiercely fight to defeat Obamacare and advance conservatism.

“Where is he today?” Levin said of McConnell.

Levin also discussed plans by Republican establishment figures to take down the Tea Party with so-called “pro-business” candidates who love crony capitalism. The Republican establishment indicated they will target conservatives like Reps. Steve King (R-IA) or Justin Amash (R-MI) with candidates from the center. (read more)

Trayvon’s Foundation:  Following the Paper Trail

Not long after George Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin in self-defense, Trayvon’s family created a charitable, tax-exempt organization, the Justice for Trayvon Martin Foundation, Inc.
Given the volume of smaller donations that have been generated during the public appearances of Trayvon’s parents, and that some larger organizational donations have been received by the Foundation, I wanted to find out how much money had flowed into and out of the Foundation.
In order to find the money I needed to follow the paper trail, and as you will see below, in following the paper trail I ran into a few surprises.
For a tax-exempt organization the paper trail starts with its incorporation.  In order for an organization to have tax-exempt status (a “501(c)(3)” organization) it must comply with Internal Revenue Service regulations. (more…)

Where the heck was that media talking point when Harry Reid was keeping the entire Senate from going home over the 2009 Christmas Holiday Season, and kept all of the Senators sequestered/hostage so they could not hear from, listen to, or communicate with their constituents who were desperately trying to get their representative to STOP the Obamacare nonsense?

Where was the media telling the public the Senate was being held hostage?

It marks the end to another chapter in the saga of Kilpatrick, who was elected mayor of Detroit at the young age of 31. Once mentioned as a possible candidate for president later in life, Detroit’s “hip-hop mayor,” now 43, is generally credited as one of America’s worst mayoral leaders of the past decade.

The leftist usurpers and their willfully blind media cohorts, love to bring up the insufferable talking point(s) about Obamacare being the law of the land.  Passed by Congress, signed by the President, and upheld by The Supreme Court;  as if this baseline is the principle behind their “get over it” talking point.
You will see this set of talking points in essentially every argument against the current popular demand to defund, delay or otherwise modify Obamacare.

So what I want to do here is focus on that “principle”, and just remind everyone of some simple facts about how this “law” came to be in the first place;  and, perhaps, give some assistance when you are pushing back against the manipulation of the discussion.
First, Obamacare was not passed as a regular legislative construct.   Not.Even.Close.
Most of you will easily remember exactly how it came to be.   In the Fall of 2009, as the National Healthcare was being debated, an awakened electorate began to recognize just how horrid the concept being sold actually was.
We witnessed day after day, after day, of Democrat special interest groups (unions) constructing the concept of our healthcare.   As each day passed, opposition grew.
Subsequently, Harry Reid needed to keep all the Senators away from their constituents so they did not hear the voice of the people.  Unlike the House Dems, who were flogged at numerous town halls,  Reid “sequestered” the entire Senate and kept them in session over the holiday break of 2009.   He would not allow them to pause, return home, and then resume debate and construct in January.
