The socialist society known as Greece is ramping up its effort at detention and deportation of illegals.  This is a historically specific consequence of progressive ideology running its full course.

In ideologically progressive society the economic “pie” is seen as static.  The pie must be apportioned or shared to create “fairness” in wealth or capital distribution.

When the government runs out of money from the production class, gained from forced confiscation of wealth (taxation) from the productive members of society, the government takes steps to reduce the dependent class aiming first at those defined as “least deserving”. (more…)

The Executive Order Amnesty Program stops immediate deportations and deferrs current ongoing deportation cases for up to two years for millions of people who arrived in the United States as children.  It also grants them work permits.  The work permits will allow the immigrants to obtain a Social Security number, apply for driver’s licenses and receive financial aid at colleges.

New York / Chicago — Tens of thousands of young illegal immigrants waited excitedly in lines as long as a mile and thronged to information sessions across the country on Wednesday, the first day that a federal immigration agency began accepting applications for deportation deferrals that include permits to work legally.

The public outpouring surprised both federal officials and immigrant advocates, who had expected an enthusiastic response to the Obama administration’s deferral program but were unprepared for the size and intensity of it. At Navy Pier here, young people began lining up on Tuesday evening for a counseling session about the program that was organized by an immigrants’ rights group. (more…)

The part you won’t hear about in President Obama’s “Amnesty by Dictatorial Fiat program” are the thousands rushing over the border to begin the process, and yet thousands more who get their blank copies mailed, faxed and downloaded to sites all around Mexico so they don’t even have to leave their country to apply for Amnesty benefits in the U.S.

Fill out the paperwork in Mexico then send to a connection in the U.S. who walks it into the building and files it.   It is just one way the professional illegal community game the system.

Maria Burns Ortiz, hyphenated name not accidental I’m sure, from Fox Latino takes to the airwaves to defend the indefensible in typical prog fashion.   But what strikes me as more significant is how the media appears to be avoiding this story like the plague.

That can only mean one thing; they, the institutional media machine, view it as toxically dangerous to their agenda of diminished national pride and patriotism.  They are probably correct.   If this imagery was publically broadcast the outrage would be significant.    Progs like Maria Burns Ortiz are in the increasingly diminishing minority.

(Fox Latino) –  Leo Manzano ended the race with a strong kick, the letters USA emblazoned  across his chest as he crossed the finish line. After securing the silver medal  in the 1500 meters, Manzano celebrated – like all Olympic athletes – by draping  himself in his country’s flag. An American flag. At some point, he was handed a  Mexican flag as well. He clutched it in his hand.

The scene highlighted one of those unique images that only the Olympics can  provide. A moment where sport transcends borders and cultures. (more…)

Obama’s back-door amnesty for young illegal aliens is now causing chaos for federal immigration agents.  There is no burden whatsoever on young illegal aliens to produce any evidence that they meet any of the new relaxed criteria to be allowed to stay in the United States.  Federal agents are being ordered to release these young people, even in cases where they have committed violent acts against federal agents.  Watch this press conference hosted by U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.) with top officials from two unions that represent U.S. immigration law enforcement agencies:

Meanwhile moderates call for a pragmatic approach toward finding common ground.

(The Washington Times) — Federal immigration authorities have begun granting tentative legal status to illegal immigrants under President Obama’s deportation halt — and in some cases are even ignoring the administration’s eligibility rules to stop deportations for those who shouldn’t qualify, according to the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
Rep. Lamar Smith, Texas Republican, said he’s learned some illegal immigrants who have been in the U.S. less than five years have had their deportations canceled, even though Mr. Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet A. Napolitano had listed the five-year mark as one of their criteria. (more…)

Put this in the “you’ve got to be kidding me” file.   The Mom’s oldest son was killed by a drunk illegal alien driver and mom is forced to pay for towing the vehicle, storing the vehicle, AND pay for cleaning his blood off the street.

“First of all, having to open the mail and look at the charge to the deceased,  Justin Darryl Walker — the deceased! It’s just a hard thing to deal with in the  context of your child,” she said

GREENVILLE, SC –  A grieving mother told a  South Carolina court she was slapped with several bills, including one to clean  the street after her son was killed by a drunken driver last year.

Loretta Robinson spoke on June 19 of the emotional and financial toll her son  Justin Walker’s death had on her as the driver Anna Gonzales, who is an illegal  immigrant, pleaded guilty in the case. (more…)
