Jim Hoft has a great post up at GateWayPundit about exposing the strategy of the DSCC (Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee).    In essence this outlines EXACTLY what we said last week they were going to do – it’s just how they roll.

It’s important to note these are not campaign PAC’s, or merely affiliate entities of the Democrat party, like Think Progress or Media Matters et al.   These are the ACTUAL and OFFICIAL statements from the Democrat Party itself.

The Progs are seriously distraught about how the scandals of using official political power to attack the conservative movement is actually creating a backlash.   More people now are openly understanding how Conservatives have been, and continue to be, targeted, in an official capacity, by the Administration of President Obama.

Previously, the left-of-center crowd (ie blue dogs) thought these Tea Party claims were merely “tin foil hat” type of conspiracy theory.   Now the Independents, and moderate Democrats are realizing it’s not wild conspiracy, it’s true.

We knew this specific *cough* “investigation” was going to encompass much more than just Rosen’s communications.   Now surfacing his parents home phone records were targeted along with phones of Senior executives with Fox News, White House Fox reporters and State Department reporters phone lines. 

In the subpoena demand presented before a judge, which the DOJ is now hiding behind, the DOJ asserts that James Rosen has engaged in Criminal Conspiracy against national security.   Unreal.

(Wa-Po) When the Justice Department began investigating possible leaks of classified information about North Korea in 2009, investigators did more than obtain telephone records of a working journalist suspected of receiving the secret material.

They used security badge access records to track the reporter’s comings and goings from the State Department, according to a newly obtained court affidavit. They traced the timing of his calls with a State Department security adviser suspected of sharing the classified report. They obtained a search warrant for the reporter’s personal e-mails. (more…)

A Northwestern University student was rejected for a “diversity and inclusion post” in student government because he is a white, heterosexual male, resulting in a sharp rebuke from the university’s student newspaper.

Northwestern University’s Associated Student Government rejected the nomination of Stephen Piotrkowski for associate vice president of diversity and inclusion last week. The student-run committee “oversees diversity initiatives that stem from the undergraduate student body.”

Piotrkowski’s nomination sparked a heated discussion during an ASG meeting – described by a student reporter as “contentious.”

“This university is not ready, in any capacity, for a heterosexual white male to be in charge in any way of diversity and inclusion,” said Ian Coley, a member of the diversity committee. “I don’t know if any university is.” (more…)

(DAILY MAIL) A former Philadelphia police officer once  hailed as a hero and given a seat next to the first lady at a speech by  President Obama has been arrested and charged with rape and other  crimes.

Authorities allege that former officer  Richard DeCoatsworth left a party with two women early Thursday and took them to  another location, where they claim that he produced a handgun and ‘forced the  two females to engage in the use of narcotics and sexual acts.’

A police spokeswoman said the two called  police after he left, and 27-year-old DeCoatsworth was charged with rape, sexual  assault, terroristic threats and related offenses.

DeCoatsworth was hailed as a hero after he  was shot in the face during a traffic stop in September 2007 but still managed  to chase after his attacker, who was later sentenced to 36 to 72 years in  prison. (more…)

WASHINGTON DC – Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012 acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath.

The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it’s important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect “incompetence rather than malice or cover up.” Nonetheless, in the eight months since the attacks, this is the most sweeping and detailed discussion by key players of what might have been done differently. There are just some jaw dropping discoveries coming forth from the Congressional IRS Hearings and the investigative reporting being done into the background and substance of the claims.

(*note* liar avoidance 101 teaches you that when a person says “to be honest with you” as the lead to their next statement – they are NOT to be trusted.  Ever.   Honest people do not need to qualify when they are honest, and when they are lying.)

First: The IRS intentionally withheld the information last year until after the 2012 election cycle because they knew it would destroy the chances for the Democrats and President Obama specifically. Even to the extent they intentionally misled congress:

The Treasury Department’s inspector general testified at a congressional hearing Friday that he had informed Obama administration officials of an investigation into improper scrutiny of conservative non-profit groups by the Internal Revenue Service during the run-up to the 2012 election.

J. Russell George told Treasury’s general counsel of the investigation on June 4, and Deputy Treasury Secretary Neal Wolin — then-Sec. Timothy Geithner’s No. 2 — “shortly thereafter,” according to the New York Times.  (link)

(Via Slate)  If you are a customer of Verizon Wireless, you might want to consider switching carriers in light of the Associated Press phone snooping scandal.

When the feds came knocking for AP journalists’ call records last year, Verizon apparently turned the data over with no questions asked. The New York Times, citing an AP employee, reported Tuesday that at least two of the reporters’ personal cellphone records “were provided to the government by Verizon Wireless without any attempt to obtain permission to tell them so the reporters could ask a court to quash the subpoena.” (more…)

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia abortion doctor was sentenced Wednesday to a third life term for killing an aborted baby that he described as so big it could “walk to the bus.”

Dr. Kermit Gosnell was convicted this week of first-degree murder in the deaths of three babies born alive, then stabbed with scissors. He was given two life sentences Tuesday in a deal with prosecutors that spared him a potential death sentence, and the third sentence was handed down Wednesday.

Gosnell was also sentenced to 2  1/2 to five years in prison for the 2009 overdose death of a patient. The sentences are consecutive, meaning Gosnell, 72, will spend the rest of his life in prison.  (read more)

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Former Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell has been spared the death sentence by choosing to forego an appeal.

In exchange for giving up that appeal, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office agreed to two life sentences without the possibility of parole.

Gosnell was found guilty of first-degree murder on Monday in the deaths of three babies. He was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the overdose death of former patient Karnamaya Mongar and 229 counts of violating Pennsylvania abortion laws.

The 72-year-old owner of the Women’s Medical Society, the West Philadelphia clinic where the crimes happened, was set to be sentenced next Tuesday.  (continue reading)
