The 2010 and 2012 class of Tea Party House Congressional members have done an outstanding job of holding the line amid attacks from both Democrats and Republicans. Can you just imagine what legislative life would be like without their fight?
Ted Cruz appears on ABC This Week and discusses his meeting with them during the shutdown. Jonathan Karl is just aghast at their united patriotic perspectives.
(Via BizPac) A retired veteran, already up in arms over a budget deal cutting veterans’ retirement benefits, couldn’t believe what he got in his email inbox — a fundraising appeal from one of the deal’s architects.
Chuck Wooten, a retired chief master sergeant of the U.S. Air Force, exploded on U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wisc.,in a scathing letter posted on his Facebook page. […]
Congressman Ryan,
Please note that this request by you for a cash donation from me is extremely unfortunate and very ill-timed. You see sir, I am one of the military retirees your “bipartisan” budget just impacted. You and every Republican (both in the House and Senate that voted to pass this travesty betrayed and broke trust with me and everyone like me. You may not know us by name, but we’re the people, Congressman, who answered our Nation’s call, some of us at a very early age to willingly serve YOU and others LIKE YOU so you could safely attend college and pursue your personal ambitions without fear of harm. Yesterday we shared the story of the CoC announcing their intention to spend $50 million in order to protect and maintain establishment Republicans. Yesterday the SCF (Senate Conservatives Fund) also sent out a distribution letter notifying supporters of the same issue.
However, the SCF misses the point when they note:
“The Chamber is pro-bailout, pro-stimulus, and pro-debt so it’s no surprise they want to elect more liberal Republicans.”
All of which is true but that’s not the primary impetus behind the current $50+ million for the 2014 election cycle.
The reason the Chamber of Commerce is willing to spend so much money to protect the Mitch McConnells of the world was openly discussed a few weeks ago when the Chamber President appeared on Neil Cavuto.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is heavily invested in two legislative constructs. First, immigration reform. Second, maintaining Obamacare.
John Boehner has promised to deliver immigration reform next year. Nancy Pelosi openly admitted as such and it is widely expected to be the platform for President Obama’s entire State of The Union speech.
Bottom line – Establishment Republicans are going to deliver Amnesty legislation on behalf of the CoC request. (more…)
Setting aside the agenda bias inherent in this article (last line) it just once again solidifies what direction the Republican Establishment choose to take. The cocktail party is going to relentlessly work to destroy anyone who would loosen the ever desperate, yet dying, grip on their ideological power.
Before we can destroy the anti-freedom liberalist contingents we must first rid ourselves of the toxic infection that remains the Republican Party Decepticons. It begins with getting rid of Mitch McConnell – Support the Tea Party.
(Via Ballot Box) The Chamber of Commerce is planning to spend at least $50 million on a campaign to boost establishment Republicans in primaries against Tea Party challengers, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The group’s broader aim is to help the GOP win Senate control and block Tea Party Republican candidates who might lose otherwise winnable seats to Democrats.
“Our No. 1 focus is to make sure, when it comes to the Senate, that we have no loser candidates,” Chamber political strategist Scott Reed tells the Journal. “That will be our mantra: No fools on our ticket.” (more…)
The progressive mantra of modern liberalism is flailing miserably everywhere you look and the media protestations of a “Do Nothing Congress” are flares shooting up from their encampments identifying exactly where they reside.

All around us are signs the various liberalist causes are visibly in the minority. The odd thing is how willing the progressives are to out their failing positions. Against the liberal yard-stick of emotional legislative advancement, which is diametrically antithetical to freedom, the media are proclaiming congress as failed.
However, when you consider that stopping intrusion by government into your life is a central tenant of freedom this congress is the most successful in a decade.
Coast to coast people are showing their pushback against the nanny state. People are rising up, or using their TV remotes, or tuning their car radios, or expressing their voice, to reflect an ideology of freedom in opposition to the current federal administration and the beliefs they visibly represent. …. A Christmas wish that cannot be purchased and won’t be identified until May of 2014.
So much of what we are dealing in our daily lives is a direct result of the polar opposite of what is reflected in the birth story of Jesus Christ.
In many ways the birth of Jesus challenged the contract between those who ruled and those who are forced by consequence to live under those rulers. A leader born to serve people instead of demanding service from people.
Politically speaking, until the birth of Jesus Christ all leaders exhibited their will upon the people beneath them. The Macedonians, the Babylonians, The Persians, the Romans and the Egyptians et al , all led from a power base of top down construct enforcing the will of Kings and Emperors. Rules made by Rulers.
The birth of a Leader who would change the never negotiated contract to a concept of service for His people was so extraordinary it became dangerous to even discuss such considerations.
So too do we find ourselves, albeit millennia removed, engaged in this exact same struggle today. Nations of people ruled by power systems manipulated and constructed by the few against the will of many. (more…)

The New York Times reports that middle class Obama voters are less than happy with finding out that their private plans are being cancelled, and that the Obamacare plans are much more expensive than their private coverage.
The Times describes them as “frustrated”. (!)
…. “We are just right over that line,” said Ms. Chapman, who is 54 and does administrative work for a small wealth management firm. Because their plan is being canceled, she is looking for new coverage for her family, which includes Mr. Chapman, 55, a retired fireman who works on a friend’s farm, and her two sons. “That’s an insane amount of money,” she said of their new premium. “How are you supposed to pay that?”
