WASHINGTON DC – Jose Antonio Vargas, an illegal immigrant and former reporter, scolded a congressional panel on Wednesday, saying that he should not be called illegal, and saying it is an insult to his family who brought him here.

“When you inaccurately call me illegal, you not only dehumanize me, you’re offending them,” he said. “No human being is illegal.”

Mr. Vargas testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee alongside Chris Crane — a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and president of the ICE agents’ union — who is unable to arrest him under the administration’s new non-deportation policies.

Mr. Vargas, who “came out” as an illegal immigrant several years ago, delivered an emotional plea for the country to legalize him. (more)

WASHINGTON DC – Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) made no effort to hide the fact that he believes the Democratic agenda is radical, comparing members of the party to Socialists and Marxists over the weekend.

Johnson lamented President Barack Obama’s reelection with fellow Republicans in a speech on Saturday night in Johnson Creek, Wis., calling it a “body blow to freedom.” He then described what “people who like freedom” — people such as himself — were up against.

“We are up against a strategy that is taking place by liberals, progressives, Democrats, whatever they call themselves nowadays, Socialists, Marxists,” Johnson continued, according to the Daily Jefferson County Union. “We are up against a strategy that has taken place for about a hundred years. It’s been six months since we brought you the uncomfortable story of Black Day Care workers who created their own version of “Gladiator Training” for the three-year-olds in their care who were forced to fight eachother and videotaped.  In that real-life story we outlined the culture of thuggery, and violence, and how it was not only supported by -but advocated by- black women in the community.

The three women seen here: 19-year-old Tiana Harris, 21-year-old Estefania Myers and 47-year-old Lisa Parker were arrested last year and charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangering and conspiracy.  The story is HERE.

WASHINGTON – President Obama will have lunch Tuesday with several TV anchors and hosts, fulfilling a White House tradition held the afternoon before giving the State of the Union address.

The annual lunch, which is off-the-record, allows the president to frame his upcoming speech before influential figures in TV news, all of whom will be leading or part of their networks’ coverage later on. While Obama will personally give anchors a sense of what he’ll outline in the address at the 12:30 p.m. lunch, White House aides have already been speaking to reporters for days — typically not for attribution — about what to expect on Tuesday night. Much has been made about the death of a 15-year-old honor student, Hadiya Pendleton.

She died after being shot in a park near the Chicago home of President Barack Obama on Jan. 29, just days after she performed during his inauguration festivities in Washington. Her death was among dozens of homicides in Chicago last month, but her background and ties to Obama thrust her death into the national headlines and helped put Chicago at the center of a national debate over gun control.  (story)

Given the fact that kids are now suspended from school for playing “imaginary games” the liberals deem psychologically dangerous, it should not be a surprise to find the kids are also verbÖtten from climbing on monkey bars the liberals determine too dangerous.

Safety is no longer just the avoidance of running with scissors, or the infamous sticks that can put your eye out; No, now safety and liberal safe-exercise means you must be limited to standing in place and flailing your arms in the existential air while worshipping teh Won. Let’s Mooove…. just not to, well, quickly or something;…. and under no circumstances can you simultaneously think about playing War, or Cowboys and Injuns.  *spit*

(Via Daily Mail) […] Parents had spent months raising $35,000 to  pay for new climbing frame outside Stratford Landing Elementary School, in Fairfax  County, Virginia – and claim they worked with authorities to ensure the site met  required standards.

But before a child could set foot in the playground,  authorities performed a last-minute U-turn and deemed it to be a  hazard.  Bright yellow caution tape now festoons the  apparatus to warn off any children.

The project, which was started by parents,  who raised funds with auctions and cake bakes in a bid to  give the 870  pupils a little more fun during playtime, now looks set to be mired in acrimony  and costly recriminations.  The school’s facilities department insists the  new equipment must be dismantled.
