NEW YORK – An orderly protest over the death of an armed 16-year-old turned into a riot in Brooklyn tonight after young people started lashing out at NYPD officers.

Between 60 and 100 rioters gathered around Church and Snyder Ave. in East Flatbush and threw bottles and other debris at police, witnesses said, following a vigil for Kimani Gray, 16, who was shot dead by two plainclothes officers over the weekend.

One person has been arrested, though no injuries have been reported.

They were lashing out at the NYPD, who they believe are responsible for the teen’s death. (more…)

[Via WFB]  A federal jury convicted former Detroit Democratic Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick on Monday of 24 charges, including racketeering, extortion, attempted extortion, bribery, mail fraud, wire fraud, and filing false tax returns, according to the Huffington Post.

The five-month corruption trial alleged that Kilpatrick, his father Bernard Kilpatrick and contractor Bobby Ferguson ran a criminal enterprise out of Detroit’s City Hall. Prosecutors said the former Detroit mayor, who has already served over a year in prison for perjury, spent $840,000 more during his tenure than he earned. They’ve charged the former 42-year-old mayor with 33 criminal offenses that include charges of tax fraud, bribery, extortion and RICO charges. Ferguson and Bernard Kilpatrick have also been accused of racketeering charges. … (more…)

(By:  Jack Cashill)  The headline of the Orlando Sentinel on March 5 introduced a harsh note of  reality into the darkly comic opera the major media have been spinning around  the death of Trayvon Martin, “Lawyer: State’s main witness in George Zimmerman  murder case lied.”

That witness, Witness No. 8, Trayvon’s alleged 16-year-old sweetheart “Dee  Dee,” captivated the media when the story surfaced on March 20, 2012.

CNN covered it live. Anchor Kyra Phillips enthused about the “chilling new  perspective” added to the case by the testimony of this heartsick girl who was  on the phone with Trayvon when he was shot by George Zimmerman.

Phillips then introduced CNN legal analyst Sunny Hostin.  Hostin had spoken  with a Martin family attorney and shared with the CNN audience what he had  learned. (more…)

UPDATE:  (Hufington Post) After nearly 13 hours on the Senate floor, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has ended his filibuster of the nomination of John Brennan as director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

“I will speak until I can no longer speak,” Paul said at the beginning of the filibuster, which he used to address concerns over President Obama’s policies on civil liberties, including the president’s controversial drone program.

Paul began the filibuster at 11:47 a.m. ET on Wednesday, and concluded at 12:39 a.m. on Thursday. After Paul ceded the floor, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) filed for cloture on Brennan’s nomination, adjourning the Senate until 10 a.m. Thursday.  (read more)

What it’s like to live in the land of the perpetually aggrieved

[excerpt from PhillyMag.com]  I’ve shared my view of North Broad Street with people—white friends and colleagues—who see something else there: New buildings. Progress. Gentrification. They’re sunny about the area around Temple. I think they’re blind, that they’ve stopped looking. Indeed, I’ve begun to think that most white people stopped looking around at large segments of our city, at our poorest and most dangerous neighborhoods, a long time ago. One of the reasons, plainly put, is queasiness over race. Many of those neighborhoods are predominantly African-American. And if you’re white, you don’t merely avoid them—you do your best to erase them from your thoughts.

At the same time, white Philadelphians think a great deal about race. Begin to talk to people, and it’s clear it’s a dominant motif in and around our city. Everyone seems to have a story, often an uncomfortable story, about how white and black people relate. (more…)

The Philadelphia media is one of the most race-adverse media outlets in the country.   They do anything and everything to hide the facts of race-based assaults and killings.  Such is the case in Upper Darby PA where a 12-year-old white boy, Bailey O’Neill, was jumped and beaten in school by two black kids.  

Baily was rushed to the hospital, spent 2 months on life-support, and died this week.

The kids who killed him?   They were suspended from school for two days.  

Jesse Jackson would be proud.  

Maybe – because of quotas for black discipline –  they are waiting for two white kids to kill a black kid, then they can expel the black abusers and arrest them.  It’s affirmative action combined with adverse impact (quota) rules…. or something.   Ask 2-J’s to explain it.  Or ask President Obama who implemented it in his August Executive Order.

PENNSYLVANIA – A suburban Philadelphia sixth-grader was pulled off life support Sunday, a  day after his 12th birthday and almost two months since he was punched in the  face in a perceived bullying attack at school.

Southeast Delco School District officials confirmed that Bailey O’Neill, who  had been in the hospital in a medically induced coma, has died.

One of the two tormenters punched him so hard that he broke the boy’s nose  and left him with a concussion, NBC 10 Philadelphia reported.  The students who reportedly jumped O’Neill were suspended from school for  two days.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A toy gun was the weapon a 34-year-old man used last week to try to rob a bank in Trimble, Mo., according to investigators.

But the bank worker who shot him in the face didn’t know that when he stepped in to try to protect a female teller crawling on the ground.

The U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri announced Monday that Michael Oliva was charged in federal court in connection to the attempted bank robbery and leading law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase. (more…)

Those pesky “rebels” that Hillary, Obama, Powers and Rice supported – the ones who killed Ambassador Stevens in Benghazi – you know, the ones we really didn’t know what their ideology was but we sent them missiles and guns n’ stuff,…. well, they’re back at it again....

[Hat Tip WeaselZippers] LIBYA – Libyan Islamists detained 48 Egyptian Christians in Benghazi last week, torturing them and using acid to burn off tattoos of the cross, according to family members. The Christians, who are peddlers, were arrested by Islamist Salafists in Benghazi, who said they had Christian icons at their marketplace stalls, according to Mideast Christian News.

The men were later reportedly freed and await deportation, but their family members back home told the Egyptian press they were abused while held, initially on charges of proselytizing. “When the residents of the village told me that he was imprisoned, I embraced his sons and told them they would not see their father again,” Fardoos Salib, the mother of Coptic farmer Atif Kamel, told Egyptian newspaper al-Watan. Update:  Correction because it was not a nursing home.  Also, a new report shows the woman had a DNR of some sort, but the DNR was unknown to the facility caregiver until after the event described below.  Does that change the decision not to provide care?

What the flip is wrong with people?    Seriously?   An elderly woman in an nursing home, assisted living facility collapses from a heart attack.   The caregiver states it is against company policy to help her by providing CPR – the 911 Operator is begging her, anyone, to help her.

No-one does !

A 911 dispatcher pleaded with a nurse at a Bakersfield, Calif., senior living facility to save the life of an elderly woman by giving her CPR, but the nurse said policy did not allow her to, according to a newly released audiotape of the call.

“Is there anybody there that’s willing to help this lady and not let her die?” the dispatcher asked in a recording of the 911 call released by the Bakersfield Fire Department.

“Not at this time,” the nurse said. (more…)
