The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report for October shows remarkable job gains of +165,000 with revisions to August and September +84,000 higher than previously reported. [BLS Data Here]
Employment in professional and business services increased by 70,000 in October along with an upward trend in professional, scientific, and technical services (+33,000), in administrative and support and waste management and remediation services (+28,000), and in management of companies and enterprises (+9,000).
Health care added 42,000 jobs in October; transportation and warehousing added 25,000 jobs. Manufacturing employment continued to trend up in October (+19,000) and has increased by 101,000 since December 2025. Job gains occurred in computer and electronic product manufacturing (+7,000), machinery manufacturing (+4,000), and primary metal manufacturing (+4,000).
(MSM) – “Demand for labor is skyrocketing,” Kevin Hassett, director of President Trump’s National Economic Council, said in an interview, noting that not only was the jobs report strong, but initial jobless claims are also at their lowest since World War II, and more people are leaving their jobs because they have higher confidence in finding a new one.
The economy added 165,000 jobs in October, compared with expectations of around 70,000, as the unemployment rate edged down to 4.1%, compared with expectations of 4.2%. (more)
One of the aspects within the numbers that most media will intentionally overlook, is that manufacturing job gains are exceptional in the sectors of manufacturing with the highest import tariff rates.
As noted in the graph below, those sectors with strong tariff protections are the sectors with the highest rates of employment gains. This is a data outcome showing how tariffs help to reshore manufacturing and reverse the trend of manufacturing job losses. Yes congress, MAGAnomics reverses the Rustbelt.

Foreign born doesn’t mean that they are not United States Citizens. I think AFpost did that to get a reaction from people who automatically think that those jobs went to foreign workers, they didn’t, they went to US Citizens who were born in other countries, like Puerto Rico or Guam.

The trouble is employers can’t muster the wage increase that needs to happen. People can’t buy stuff. My Burger-fry-drink combo for lunch has DOUBLED in the last 4 years, as have my fuel, my boots, my food and my insurance, my truck…etc. EVERYTHING HAS DOUBLED EXCEPT MY WAGES!
Legislating wage increases doubles the hamburger price on the same day the wage takes affect so THAT won’t work. BUT the ratio between real and disposable income has results where those that work, say at Olive Garden can’t afford to eat there.
Maybe a fair tax that exempts the “WORKING” class (you know, those who work?) below $100k and $300k for couples with children and replaced with it in the tax heap with tariff income? Trump, and the right people could do that, but…
