EUROPE – Around 400 of France’s 3,700 secondary schools were closed on Friday on the orders of police prefects, with many schools switching to online lessons.
Education Minister Edouard Geffray urged parents to intervene, warning that young people were putting themselves at risk.
“Children are in danger on the streets,” he told BFMTV. “Parents must, quite clearly, take action and tell their children not to go [to the blockades].” The protests began over staffing, funding and school conditions and have spread rapidly across the country.
The Interior Ministry said 1,027 secondary schools were affected on Thursday, including 222 that were blockaded. Around 30 university campuses were also blocked.
It said 1,949 people were arrested on Thursday alone, mainly in connection with violence, unlawful gatherings and attacks on people in positions of authority. (read more)

The schools have become nothing but indoctrination centers, burning them is the best thing that could happen.
Maybe after a few years, we’ll be able to find plumbers and electricians again.

The stated motivation is absurd, but even were it accurate these riots are evidence public schools should be defunded even further.
A rational society would not continue funding schools which produce students who burn schools down.
It is curious how Western government possess the ability to immediately contain and prosecute adult farmers and truckers engaged in peaceful protests, yet lose such ability when children start to burn their communities down and also allow the organizations supporting them to continue operating freely.

Education Minister Geffray tells the invader parents that their “Children are in danger on the streets” and that they must keep their children from going to the “blockades“. Hell, it’s the parents themselves, along with their imams and mullahs, who are encouraging those children to go out and take part. Many of the adults are there too, leading the children in being violent. Geffray and the rest of the current French leadership are well beyond delusional, to say the least.
So… are the French armed? Sigh…

She also states that the original protest was about inadequate funding for schools. Will the students get more money for schools or will the money be spent rebuilding the schools that were destroyed?
Also, I wonder, after the Gilets Jeunes episodes of a few years ago, that the French police did not learn more about dealing with non-peaceful protests………but the police were highly criticized at the time for being too violent (one citation: https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2018/12/police-must-end-use-of-excessive-force-against-protesters-and-high-school-children-in-france-2/)
