I dislike these ethnic heritage months. All they do is encourage division among us. Instead, what about an all-inclusive American heritage month? Celebrate everybody who makes this unified nation great. When I was a kid in elementary school, I remember our school throwing a culture festival like that. Kids brought in ethnic food, wore traditional clothes, played us some of their country’s music, that sort of thing. It was cool. It was my first experience with the blessing that is the Polish pierogi, too.

I don’t think so – especially in this case when the President highlights Marco Rubio’s accomplishments. It’s not a bad thing for us to celebrate the heritage of people who make our country truly the melting pot that America is supposed to be. The difference between what the President is celebrating and what the Left does, is highlight what an AMERICAN story this is; that you can come from other countries, pledge your allegiance to America, and succeed if you love this country and are willing to work your tail off.
My Italian family immigrated to this country with literally NOTHING but their willingness to become American including their refusal of speaking their native tongue at home so that they could assimilate here.
If they only knew the accomplishments of their descendants because of that work ethic and devotion to faith and family that they gave us; they would be so proud 🥲

Thank you. Everywhere I go the “Latino”, I am woman hear me ROAR, LBGQTRSPUXZ, Black, Islamic, and other things are constantly being forced and shoved down our throats. I have no problem learning, celebrating others, I think most of us have a history of immigration, but White and Christian isn’t popular to honor or celebrate, if I saw more of that it wouldn’t feel so over the top.

When I was a kid, there was no such thing as “Hispanic”.
People were rightly (IMO) associated with the countries there families had immigrated from.
They were “Puerto Rican”, “Mexican”, “Cuban”, “Columbian”, etc etc etc.
Just like those whose ancestors were from Europeans countries were identified with the specific country they’d come from, “Italians, “Poles”, ” Irish”, etc. instead of being referred to as a general term like “Europeans” or something.
I feel like they started up with this term “Hispanic” in the 70’s as a way to gather up a larger group of people into a voting block.
And it’s a shame, cuz – like the Europeans_- all of these so-called “Hispanic” countries have their own specific cultures and traditions, just like the Europeans do.
I vote for getting rid of the term “Hispanic” as a way to group huge numbers of people into a meaningless category.
Likewise, there are many types of African Americans. Pan African, Basian, Sudan, Somolians, Gullah-Geechees, Afro-Trinidadians, West Africans, Black Seminoles, Nigerian American, Caribbean American, Hatian, Afro Jamaicans, Afro -Cubans, Afro-Dominicans.
Very nice reception to recognize the contributions of ethnic Hispanic Americans.
Hispanic is such a broad meaningless term. By Hispanic do they mean Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Argentinian, Brazilian, Columbian et al. Before anyone says it encompasses all plus more, the government never asked the people. Puerto Ricans despise Mexicans who despise Hondurans who despise Panamanians who despise Cubans who despise all the so called Hispanics. A portion of so called Hispanics are Americans not Hispanic and the rest are still tribal as they were when their families came here. Multculti nonsense created by government to compartmentalize people in America.

Super busy with a back surgery today whilst my go getter 20 year old son had his offer accepted on his first house. (Thinking of what dear Dutchman told me about how he did it all while laying on his back. This was my day. miss you Dutchman). He’s not Hispanic, but he has made a bunch of extra bank in no tax on overtime working for a large worldwide “express” Asian chain as a GM(at 20). He’s absolutely raking it in and cannot get enough. He’s maxing his IRA contributions each year since 18 and besides that, saved a hefty 100k Downpayment himself.
God is good.
America is great again, thought the interest rate we locked in today was a bit higher than we’dve liked, rates will come down after this midterm BS and he can refinance. My first three houses were 8.00% and higher.
What a God sent President we have.
