President Donald Trump and Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping (Pooh Bear) deliver complimentary remarks during tea at the White House. Chairman Xi was very appreciative of the attention to details provided by First Lady Melania and President Trump. Expressions of the highest respect were exchanged.
Chairman Xi notes President Trump will be attending the APEC summit in Beijing in November, and Xi will be returning to the USA for the G20 summit at Doral in Miami in December.
President Trump and First Lady Melania, hosted Mr. Xi and his wife, Peng Liyuan, for tea at the White House and then the four made a brief trip to the National Archives to view America’s founding documents. Video Below:

I am reminded of U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer’s comment about managing the relationship with China. I anticipate the Russia may very well attend the G20 meeting as well.

I want my government leader to be comfortable with other leaders so that thoughts, goals, problems, etc. can be easily presented and responses are shared in a positive environment. President Trump is, in fact, from my point of view a predator who goes hunting for Americans. President Xi is the same…they both share a language pattern common to predators.
Having tea with the spouses is part of the “Rodney King” dream where “can’t we all get along” is part of the desires while smiling and sharing stories. Only a fool would refuse to see the claws and teeth these two men possess! Danger close is always there.
The women present bring their female energies into the “post discussions” that take place at “pillow time” for both leaders. This is real value for understanding and maintaining communication lines between our countries.
The Chinese people are a great people, as are the American people (sans illegals). Both our worlds have a new clock that registers nano seconds. We, like the rest of the nations on this planet are rushing to adjust to this ever changing reality…
As Mom used to say: Action speaks louder than words…you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink. Being a farm girl, she also could spot predators from a distance! She was a good shot when necessary and could ring a chicken’s neck easily. These two wives are no dummies, and their husbands love them for it!

The little (very little) knowledge I have about tea 🍵 ceremonies is that they take place in a very specific way, in a very specific order.
My older daughter is currently attending Junior cotillion, where young ladies and gentlemen learn how to address people… make conversation… treat others cordially… table etiquette, etc.
Manners – and what they represent – are a non-negotiable baseline for being taken seriously and respectfully.
The last Presidential couple that may have exhibited that fully was probably Mr and Mrs Reagan.
I am certain that the President and First Lady know these things as second nature, as does the Chinese leader and his wife.
Each is reading the other:
Their intelligence
Their knowledge
Their confidence
Their mastery of the situation
Their authenticity
What they say
What they don’t say
and many other things.
While the First Lady and the Chinese leader’s spouse are not fully cognizant of every issue (nor have the security clearance for every issue)…
They each provide their husbands with valuable confirmation and perspectives on the conversation.
Who better to observe and offer their take on what was spoken about, as well as how they handled themselves?
I feel certain that DJT relies on Melania for her assessment of foreign leaders, to see how it matches up with his.
For all the ink written about the President’s ego… a true leader is humble and receptive to alternative views and ideas.
I suspect that DJT takes Melania’s views and her perceptions quite seriously.
He knows that he can trust her in ways that are true and critical.

The plane is a Boeing 747-8i. The same as President Trump’s new Air Force One. There is a genuine first class section in the nose of the aircraft.
