The jury’s foreperson, who wrote the note indicating concerns about a juror expressing reasonable doubt but not agreeing to a verdict, is among the jurors who spoke to NBC10 Boston on Tuesday.

Not guilty by reason of insanity doesnt mean she walks free. She would be remanded to a mental institution and spend years there possibly. She is in her own prison too, she lives with it every day, she is in a wheelchair. She will never walk again..she will serve her time in her own mind and heart. This doesnt diminish what she did, but she wasnt herself. Every single person that knows her says she was a wonderful mother, wife, person, friend, daughter, sister. No history of violence or mental history. There is simply no back story. I dont condone what she did, its just so tragic and sad….but she isnt a cold blooded premeditated murderer. Actually, she does deserve the state penitentiary. There are a lot of mentally ill people that are serving time. From what I have read, she never reported voices. She did say she had dark thoughts. At what point does she escape culpability for checking herself in? She did it before. The bottom line is that her mental illness doesn’t excuse her responsibility. Trust me, the system, if she is found not responsible (that’s what this trial is actually about), will reward her with a brief stay in an institution, then release.
This is about justice for HER CHILDREN, not her mental condition.
Let’s say Linsey led an pious wonderful life with not a shred of ugly.. however one night she got black out drunk, got behind the wheel of a motor vehicle and wiped out a family of 3… Linsey would be tried, convicted and sentenced. IMHO….. her family has a part in the tragedy.

The woman had a husband who made more than $400,000 a year. She had a nanny. She was capable of planning and carrying out executive functions demonstrated by the murders of three people. She was capable of getting help if that was what she wanted. She could have left them.

Finally, someone who paid attention to what the trial was really about, and it was NOT about whether she viciously killed her three children – she admitted to doing that. Deb (above) explains it well. Yet everyone seems to think this whole case is black and white, and I’m guessing most of those never watched so much as a day of a near month long trial, or just watched selected clips.
To me, a woman who, after killing her kids, slits her own throat and wrists, then throws herself outside a second story window, lands on her head and is left wheelchair bound for life, was clearly not in her right, stable mind. It’s not like she killed the kids then ran off with another man to live out her selfish life. The massive amount of assorted, dangerous, psychotropic pharmaceuticals that idiotic “doctor” insisted she needed to be on cannot lightly be discounted, as most seem to do.

I was wondering about the jury recommending sentencing if it is allowed in Massachusetts.
First, it has been reported that she may very well walk again and is not wheelchair bound for life.
Second, the so called suicide attempts were not serious. No one jumps out of a second floor window thinking they were going to die. Get real!! The cuts to her arms were shallow. If she was serious she would have slit her wrists and gone into the bathtub as many young girls have done.
So she is highly successful at murdering three people but when it comes to herself she makes lame, inadequate attempts?

I do agree she likely had some kind of mental illness, I just don’t agree that it was psychosis. Her lawyers are arguing that she was in the throes of psychosis and guided by a voice *only* during the murders of her children and while attempting to kill herself. Once she is deemed no longer experiencing psychosis could she be immediately released? You are assuming that she feels as you do and is suffering the loss of her children on a level you feel that you would. I think if that were the case then she would accept responsibility and submit to whatever sentence the state deems appropriate.
I agree she was poorly served by the medical community. Do note that she wasn’t taking all of the drugs we’ve heard about all at the same time. It does sound like she had quite a lot of help, but not apparently addressing the core issues. She also seems to have withheld critical information from those who were trying to help her.
Just like the lone juror, I have trouble getting away from her viciously murdering her children. The window of her psychosis is simply too convenient for me, as well as other red flags.

I liked the part of the interview where the foreperson explained how they brought in new evidence in the jury room through expert testimony by the jury nurse(s) on the toxicology reports.
Silly me. I always thought jurors were only allowed to consider evidence from within the trial that comes from a pretrial agreement by both a defense and prosecution as to the witnesses who will give testimony.
I had no idea a juror could replace the trial opinion on toxicology with their own expertise. Silly me.

Verdicts are supposed to be rendered based on logic and reason, not emotion. That fact that she had an emotional reaction to reaching what she believed to be a verdict tells me that she was not fit to be a juror, and that she based her vote on the symbolism she had invested in the defendant rather than the facts of the case.

The jury process I participated in…..my fellow jurors were introducing episodes of LA Law into the process. I decided right then and there that my peers were crazy! If I ever needed to go to court I would be trial by judge. Sadly, I am not sure that would ensure impartiality in this day and age.

These women did not weigh the facts of the case. They came into it with their minds already made up. She was so excited because her preferred outcome looked like it was about to happen. I don’t see how it’s possible in a state like MA to keep these witches off juries. But sane states need to institute some kind of sanity test for jurors. Life and death decisions cannot be left to lunatics like these women.

Having lived in Massachusetts for most of my life, these are precisely the type of women I suspected were on this jury. I could have drawn a sketch of all three and you would have recognized them.
It is no surprise these women are teachers and nurses. The teachers’ union and the nursing union run this state. What you think of when you think of Massachusetts is the product of these unions, and these unions are the products of these women. And these women are radical, hate-fueled, misanthropic female supremacists.
They expect deference because they hold professional accreditation and are women. They claim to be oppressed yet hold positions of privilege and power, and when their authority is challenged they cry about being oppressed and silenced in order to oppress and silence you.
This man’s life must have been absolute hell. There is no way these women, in particular the foreperson, was treating him in a respectful and professional manner appropriate to the situation.
When I call these women aspiring aufseherin I am not joking. Look at the faces and tell me there is a substantive difference between the inner qualities of these jurors and the Ilsa Koch.
Here’s the problem – This juror had a moral compass. The other 11 followed Massachusetts law.
The law requires them to let her off if there’s any reasonable doubt she was sane, and he admitted there was.
They were right. He was wrong, because the law itself is horrifically broken there.

We are supposed to follow God’s laws, not man’s.
One would have to take the words of these as far as to what he supposedly admitted, which already might be a bridge too far for some as far as taking their word for it, including how it actually came out. Even if it could be interpreted the way they claim perhaps it could’ve been in the midst of a group harangue personally targeting him rather than actually getting at the merits of things?
Part of the merits could’ve been breaking down not whether there was doubt, but whether there was “reasonable” doubt legally as to the matter of sanity. One may posit that the likelihood that they were really working hard on that particular question may have been slim to none.
For some of them, the combination of “hormones” (which in other cases when applied to its impact on women’s thoughts and actions can be roundly, criticized and condemned) and “drugs” (which in and of themselves can automatically be determined as the sanity sapper to the point of being responsible for multiple homicides) may have been accepted on its face as sufficient for that.
However, given some of the other things that were spelled out to the jury about this person’s reported activity before, during, and afterwards, those looking at this objectively may well have had an issue with assigning doubt that fell into the “reasonable” category. With a proper jury process which had a suitable priority of allowing time and focus on that aspect, the juror in question — as well as others — may well have followed Massachusetts law and not found the defendant not sane and not guilty by that state’s parameters.
He was right, because she is guilty. They were totally, 1,000% wrong, and it’s not even a close call. Screw what MA law says.
Not so fast there my friend. Jury members are not only expected to have fulsome debate and express their opinion during jury deliberations, they are also allowed to change their minds during those deliberations–That is a major component of the deliberations.
So, at one point he may or may not have said “I believe there is a reasonable doubt”, but then he further expressed why it was troublesome or straight out changed his mind with further discussions/deliberations.
We don’t know for sure, and certainly don’t know for sure by these 3 jurors narrative opinions in their 15 minutes of fame interview.

I don’t know what happened during jury selection, but I know in most (if not all) states there only a limited number of jurors who can be stricken. Given the large size of the lunatic jury pool in MA, there might have been no way around it. Choose this looney or that one, no other choice.
Quite a few people that I listen too in Massachusetts have said he’s a pretty good prosecutor.
They only have a limited amount of strikes they can use and in Massachusetts there isn’t enough strikes to kick all the liberal idiots off a jury.

Elaborate Jury instructions are not constitutional. They hardly existed 100 years ago and with each passing year, the judge’s instructions become more elaborate. This is a power grab by judges in an effort to control the outcome of the case. In this instance, it appears the Judge issued instructions that in the minds of the jury, convinced them that the only legitimate option was to find Clancy not guilty. This judge was manupulating the process. Our founders actually not only rejected every effort by judges to instuct a jury but favored the idea of “jury nullification” whereas a jury had the right to actually judge the law in question and not just the person being charged. This is how ever the years many unconstitutional laws have been rejected by the people. This lone jury member is a hero as his views are far more consistent with precedent, the law, and common sense. All the other jury members are idiots having allowed themselves to be manupulated by the judge, the defense counsel, the activists, and the hysterical media. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Having reasonable doubt is not the same as beyond reasonable doubt.
It seems that neither the state nor her defense, showed, to this juror, that she was insane beyond a reasonable doubt, hence guilty of murder 1.

If I was a young man wanting to get married and start a family, I would be scared as sh%#!t that I could possibly marry a lunatic like those tik tock brain women, who don’t see what is right in front of them. They have no comprehension skills and think she is innocent and not culpable in the murder of her children. It would be so easy, I suspect that any one of those women could feel justified in killing their own children. And they are nursing or teaching other children? G-d help us.
