IMO, Vance is our 0bama. Came out of nowhere, questionable characters in his past, didn’t do much in the senate, yet somehow managed to ascend to the top of the party.
“All of that speculation aside,” I certainly feel that Vance is a demonstration of what “the Office of the VICE-President” can be.
Unlike so many others, he is decidedly not “a spare tire.” In many critical diplomatic situations, he has been a contrasting [angle to the SAME …] voice.
And, yes, he’ll do the briefing.
He accepted the position and ran with it. He’s part of the TEAM.
Always, very dutifully, in SECOND place. But he makes that mean something.
“History quiz: Who was X’s VICE-President?” I rest my case.
The TWO of them make a very powerful diplomatic combination.
Do you remember his last diplomatic task of the Iranian MOU? How’d that go for him?

JIMO, just because there are apparent parallels doesn’t mean the two are alike in any meaningful way. I still have my doubts about JDV, but he’s definitely NO “O”…..thank God.

What Rubio did as a Senator was flat out bad. I can’t get his trailing around after Chuck Schumer out of my mind. What did he know about Russia, Russia, Russia and why did he do nothing? The only answer was that he is simpleminded and weak or anti MAGA. Maybe he’s changed. I hope so.

I read Hillbilly Elegy when it first came out long before Vance ever thought of running for VP. It is an authentic book about a real life. Obama’s Dreams was pure fluff written by a ghost writer. I don’t know why so many Treepers are anti Vance.

I watched most of it as it happened.
The one question I found the most interesting was the one about all the Generals retiring in the Army. They’re leaving voluntarily or not… but a lot are leaving.
This is a good thing.
People can moan and groan about Vice President JD Vance all they want, but he was instrumental in turning around PDJT’s stale campaign in 2024. He smacked around every Sunday morning Leftist hack and cleaned weirdo Walz’s clock in the debate. I’m voting for him if he runs in 2028.
For all those who are totally against JD Vance, if he is running in 2028 who will you vote for? The other side?
J.D. Vance is a great asset to this administration and, like Marco Rubio, is very effective at selling its policies and making the case that needs to be made. If he does choose to run in 2028, he will be one of the favorites to win the Republican nomination.
Republicans will not all agree on everything, that’s a given. But the alternative is a party where to disagree is political death. If we are mature enough to recognize that some of our cherished visions for this country will not happen overnight, but that the trajectory with this administration is in our favor, then it’s a no-brainer that we will support Republicans in the mid-terms rather conjuring up reasons why we shouldn’t try.
But if our own laziness or innate contrariness moves us to pass on this election, and the Democrats regain control, then as I’ve posted before, we should at least have enough integrity not to complain about the ensuing disaster that would mean for this country. Because if living through four years of the Biden regime was not enough to awaken us as to the stakes this fall, then we really will deserve what will happen next.

There is no replacement for President Trump, IMO.
He is a unique individual.
And yet, like the rest of us, he has his flaws. He’s human.
He gets things done.
He was successful as a builder and developer, yet he had some notable difficulties that he overcame.
He had a very nice run on TV.
As President, he had a good 1st term, and he’s having an even better 2nd term.
There’s a guy at our church whose car’s license plate is OV-10.
