Supreme Court Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Elena Kagan appeared on Capitol Hill to request a ten percent increase in Supreme Court budget spending. The intent is to hire additional security to protect themselves from the outcome of their rulings.
Justice Barrett talked about the harrowing threats to herself and her family as the Court wants to bolster security. The overall appearance before congress is slightly ironic considering the increase in threats is a direct consequence of court rulings that have opened borders, blocked deportation, stalled law enforcement, granted illegal aliens rights to citizenship and generally undermined our nation’s domestic tranquility.
Sorry, but my opinion on the matter has adjusted to new information. The Supreme Court should have to live in the reality of the world they judicially create. No additional public security should be afforded. They have a security detail that supersedes any security level a taxpaying American citizen might be afforded.
No expanded security details should be afforded to government employees, just to avoid the consequences of their ideology.
Mrs Barrett and her family can carry self-defense firearms, wear protective vests and worry about their security in the parking lot of the local supermarket just like we do. Not to be obtuse, but the Constitution equally applies.
She is sooo sooo uppity. She said all th right things to Trump. He was basically schnookered! These elites should not have lifetime jobs. I didn’t. What’s so different about her?
Justice Barrett , think of the millions of people that trusted you to protect THEM, and here you are crying to have government protect you, think of the people you betrayed.

Decisions that enflame public opinion on either side of the political spectrum have consequences. That’s how it is in these turbulent times, and the serious risks to all judges will only become more intense.
The Chief Justice is responsible for budgeting and resource allocation for the federal courts. He should have been at the hearing instead of his two liberal lackeys. Complete public manipulation!
There was not even a peep from any side as Justice Scalia was made to make room for Garland that didn’t work out thanks to Mitch. I still believe it was a professional job taking out Justice Scalia.
Sundance, once again you condense what many people feel. Government employees including judges should bear responsibility for creating dangerous pathways through their own actions while shredding the Constitution of our country.
I agree. Growing up, when I went over to my friend’s house, I noticed that every window and door had a gun next to it. I was used to guns, but I had never seen them sprinkled prolifically around someone’s house, so I asked him why this was the case. I knew his dad was the county medical examiner, but what I didn’t realize is that his expert testimony was responsible for putting quite a few bad guys in prison. He never got extra protection other than what he provided himself. It went with the job. This is the case with regular people all across this nation. If she wants to fix it, she can try being part of a government that makes things safe for everyone without sacrificing freedom instead of doing that just for corrupt politicians, and I include judges in that category.
