Supreme Court Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Elena Kagan appeared on Capitol Hill to request a ten percent increase in Supreme Court budget spending. The intent is to hire additional security to protect themselves from the outcome of their rulings.
Justice Barrett talked about the harrowing threats to herself and her family as the Court wants to bolster security. The overall appearance before congress is slightly ironic considering the increase in threats is a direct consequence of court rulings that have opened borders, blocked deportation, stalled law enforcement, granted illegal aliens rights to citizenship and generally undermined our nation’s domestic tranquility.
Sorry, but my opinion on the matter has adjusted to new information. The Supreme Court should have to live in the reality of the world they judicially create. No additional public security should be afforded. They have a security detail that supersedes any security level a taxpaying American citizen might be afforded.
No expanded security details should be afforded to government employees, just to avoid the consequences of their ideology.
Mrs Barrett and her family can carry self-defense firearms, wear protective vests and worry about their security in the parking lot of the local supermarket just like we do. Not to be obtuse, but the Constitution equally applies.
She can retire.

This is the first time sitting justices Barrett and Kagan have testified in a rare testimony before Congress, July 14, 2026; highlighting how threats have risen dramatically since the 2022 Dobbs decision leak, (Barrett recounting recent “swatting” incidents at her home and the necessity of wearing bulletproof vests – having to explain to her children the use of them.) Did any of the justices not been issued the same?
Roberts, though he had publicly condemned threats against judges and supported enhanced security measures, did not personally testify. Why are Barrett and Kagan “designated” to present the court’s case for additional security resources; testifying to dangers now severely impacting their families? Why these two?
Why was Barrett the one targeted in many instances, in escalation of threats post Kavanaugh’s incident?

For far too long, we have given judges and politicians a status they have not earned. Because they can, in effect, make laws by their decisions, judges need to be made accountable for them. They have lifetime appointments, so they can’t be removed at the ballot box. A large majority of American citizens wanted to stop the ridiculous practice of giving birthright citizenship to babies born to those in our country illegally or involved in “birth tourism” scams. The left-leaning SCOTUS members, joined by Justice Barrett, ignored that fact. As Sundance said, they need to be held accountable for their actions. The Chief Justice earns $320,700 annually, and each Associate Justice earns $306,600 annually, with both amounts protected from reduction during their service. They are compensated for other (travel & office, etc) expenses as well. That is far above what the average American makes. Make them pay for their own additional security if they feel it is neccessary.

Chief Justice John Roberts spent a week living at Norm Eisen’s 150-room palace in the Czech Republic where they “worked on American and European Rule of Law issues together.” Eisen was Ambassador 2011-2014. Roberts became Chief Justice in 2005. This was while Roberts ran SCOTUS.

IMHO the case against birth right citizenship because of the 14th amendment was clear. It was very clear that the amendment was to protect children of slaves and nothing more. It appears that, contrary to good sense and judicial practice, the ruling in favor of it was political and in the case of ACB and Roberts the decision was personal because of TDS. The decision guarantees a future with over a million Chinese spies and saboteurs who will be granted citizenship because of this ruling. It could be the single most significant cause of our demise. In that context it was intentionally a traitorous act.
