Supreme Court Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Elena Kagan appeared on Capitol Hill to request a ten percent increase in Supreme Court budget spending. The intent is to hire additional security to protect themselves from the outcome of their rulings.
Justice Barrett talked about the harrowing threats to herself and her family as the Court wants to bolster security. The overall appearance before congress is slightly ironic considering the increase in threats is a direct consequence of court rulings that have opened borders, blocked deportation, stalled law enforcement, granted illegal aliens rights to citizenship and generally undermined our nation’s domestic tranquility.
Sorry, but my opinion on the matter has adjusted to new information. The Supreme Court should have to live in the reality of the world they judicially create. No additional public security should be afforded. They have a security detail that supersedes any security level a taxpaying American citizen might be afforded.
No expanded security details should be afforded to government employees, just to avoid the consequences of their ideology.
Mrs Barrett and her family can carry self-defense firearms, wear protective vests and worry about their security in the parking lot of the local supermarket just like we do. Not to be obtuse, but the Constitution equally applies.

Well said SD. Live in the world you created Ms Barrett. We do out here in flyover country.
Nothing good comes out of South Bend.
THANK YOU!
<Nothing good comes out of South Bend.>
Rudy was a pretty good movie…
Rudy was very real, was related to my kids grade school principle…but not in South Bend…
Aside from The Blues Brothers, really good things do come out of Joliet.
Rudy’s story is actually better than “The 12th Man” of Aggieland.
Historically, in Joliet, all the Catholic school girls dream of a volleyball scholarship to Notre Dame and the boys, football scholarships. And everybody is related to everybody.
My Grandpa Leo J. Hurley, a Chicago cop shot in the line of duty in the 1920s, after surviving gassing in WWI in France, came from Joliet. His parents came from Ireland.
I am enough of a gentleman to avoid commenting on the ladder-like and kudzu-like family trees in certain parts of the country.
Bear Bryant approves of this message. Roll Tide & Gig’em!
Except Studebakers and those that loved them.
Hah!… someone who’s actually heard of Studes… My dad was a longtime member of the Studebaker drivers club here in NY. He loved them. My brother fixed up a 1957 Hawk with a supercharger; ran like a top. No catalytic converters or emissions crap back then… Boy do I have stories…
I bet those stories are good.
My dad had one, back in the day…I was a babe in arms on Long Island…I
Small world AG!
Born in Queens, raised after awhile in LI.
Dad worked for Sperry and then became a Grummanite; he worked on the original Lunar Module, and did avionics on the F-111,
F-14 (Anytime Baby!), A-10, E2C Hawkeye and other great planes I can’t recollect right now. He used to bring home decals and patches for us kids. That was when LI was the epicenter of tech and aviation. Wonderful times.
I realize I’m off article topic (it’s absolutely appalling what ACB did and the SC is beyond disappointing; may God truly intervene and help us), but it’s so nice to reminisce once in a while. Thank you for that. God bless!
Studebaker Avanti… What a car! Acceleration like nothing else in its time. (about 1967-8)
My grandfather, who was a Studebaker man, had an Avanti. I loved that car.
The men who founded Notre Dame were frontier priests from France whose order traveled with the Voyageurs and charted much of the Midwest and the Mississippi Valley. They were like Cajuns, only more used to cold weather.
Virtually all Notre Dame students volunteered for the Civil War and helped save the nation from secessionist idiocy that would have left Americans as targets for the Brits and French and Germans. Genearl Sherman’s family lived at Notre Dame during some of the Civil War.
After the Civil War, the fathers asked General Sherman to award 25 scholarships to Notre Dame to promising Catholic youths. The first young man he chose was the son of Kit Carson and his Spanish wife. Sherman brought the news to the Carsons in New Mexico personally. Old Kit was tearfully grateful his son got the chance for a college education, because he had glory but little money. General Sherman admired Kit and said in a way it was payment for Kit’s service to the nation.
Notre Dame’s students were the first college kids to beat up Klansmen. They did so in 1924. And when they were done trashing the sheetheads, they marched back to campus, like soldiers, because they had some military training as part of their curriculum, along with boxing. Most Notre Dame students in that era were immigrants or the sons of immigrants from Catholic Europe who grew up in tough urban slums.
Meanwhile, the Aggies and other SEC schools allowed the Klan as an extracurricular activity.
Notre Dame provided more naval officers for WWII than any other school not named the Naval Academy.
Notre Dame students helped spearhead the Peace Corps … in large part due to Tom Dooley, the Notre Dame doctor who ministered to the poor in Southeast Asia and was an anti-Communist agent at the same time.
Even today, Notre Dame has the Di Nicola Center (an active pro-life program that provides classes and training for students) and the largest and most active pro-life student organization in any college in America. Notre Dame has the McGrath Institute (an organization which provides historical research on chivalry and fuels the “Women and Children First” concept of manly behavior, and also trains students to fight sexual abuse as part of their legal and criminal studies).
This is not to denigrate Texas A&M.
Their Corps are good people by and large. I have served with Aggie officers and have been on the A&M campus.
A&M fans are on the whole decent people.
However, there is some football-fueled trash talk.
The Aggies sent Bob Davey to South Bend and he brought Aggie mediocrity to Notre Dame.
It only ended when LSU lured fake Southerner Brian Kelly to Baton Rouge.
All time Notre Dame is 4-3 against Texas A&M. They have many more national titles than the Aggies.
Notre Dame’s players made Southern Cal quit the series over repeated beatdowns in the cold.
A&M won’t travel to a Northern state when it is colder.
At least LSU, Tennessee, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida State, and Miami will play Notre Dame in South Bend in November. Their schools understand championship football. A&M hasn’t understood it since Homer Norton was their coach and they won it all in 1939.
Bear Bryant left A&M because he wasn’t allowed to recruit black players. Ironically, Alabama didn’t either, until the USC Trojans beat up Bama when the lawless John McKay was their coach.
That is the historical record.
Your takes are generally great, Aggiegirl. But there is some bias that rears up in many when Notre Dame is mentioned.
I was a young officer, fit and tough, standing in line to get into the Grand Ole Opry one night in 1978. Behind me were a distinguished looking Southern gentleman and his two beautiful daughters. One was acoed at Auburn, and one was a coed at Vanderbilt. They asked me if I was an officer and I said yes.
Then they asked me where I got my commission. I said: ” U.S. Military Academy.” They asked how I was able to get into the academy. I said I had the grades and the physical prowess, and my grades weren’t good enough to go to Notre Dame. They gasped “Notah Da-aa-ame??!? and refused to talk to me. Especially since they saw a St. Patrick cross and Joan of Arc medal on my dog tags.
It is what it is.
Take care, Aggiegirl. God bless you and your loved ones, and God Bless America and the Trumps!

When they covered the crucifix so Obama wouldn’t be offended, they lost me.
I grew up worshipping Notre Dame, Knute Rockne, Gipp, Leahy, battles against Army and all that.
Growing up in the NorthEast, every footballer’s dream was only two schools, ND and Penn State.
(okay, maybe Syracuse, some did okay at Maryland)
However … “When they covered the crucifix so Obama wouldn’t be offended, they lost me.”
But then, all the people who lined the RR tracks for RFK’s funeral train from NYC to DC are MAGA now.
I’m MAGA too.
Dad, my uncles, and Grandpa were JFK delegates to the 1960 Dem convention.
The last time the Dems nominated a real man to head their ticket.
They were big burly guys, so Mayor Daley wanted them for fighting off the LBJ goons and Adlai Stevenson’s pukes.
You have a point.
That’s why a lot of the alumni are in rebellion against the current regime, and are funding worthwhile academic programs like the De Nicola Center and the McGrath Institute instead of just writing checks to the administration.
Notre Dame’s Father Theodore Hesburgh instigated the succession of Catholic Universities from the Catholic Church. Most so-called Catholic colleges and universities are Catholic in name only(CINO) thanks to Notre Dame. Interesting irony as you point out the historical record of Notre Dame and the Civil War.
“The Land O’Lakes Statement of 1967 was an influential manifesto published in Land o’ Lakes, Wisconsin, about Catholic higher education in the United States. Inspired by the liberalization represented by the Second Vatican Council (1962–1965), the statement declared that “To perform its teaching and research functions effectively the Catholic university must have a true autonomy and academic freedom in the face of authority of whatever kind, lay or clerical, external to the academic community itself.”[1] In the next few decades hundreds of Catholic schools kept the religious designation but began to operate independently from, and sometimes in opposition to, Catholic teaching.” (Wikipedia)
You are not wrong.
This is why it is important for the old-timer alumni to kick the administration around when they stray from the historic mission of the Church and of the Fathers who founded Notre Dame and built it up before Hesburgh.
All Christian religious institutions except maybe the Orthodox Christians are dealing with subversion from within.
Right will beat scumbagism, but it will take time, effort, and prayer.
Sorry, but this is “OFF TOPIC”. And waaaay too long!

PS. Connie Smith was appearing that night at the Opry, as was Marty Robbins.
Two of the all-timer country performers.
My wife and I had the privilege of meeting and interviewing Connie when she sang at a fair up in the Youngstown area. An intelligent, kind, and cheerful woman.
She was one of 15 kids in a blended family. She said she was kind so she wouldn’t be forgotten.
She was salutatorian for her class in a rural Ohio school but was too poor to afford good shoes.
So her classmates chipped in and bought her a pair so she would look nice at graduation.
That speaks to her intelligence and her kindness. Her classmates liked her enough to cover for her.
Purposely bloviating?
huh?!
Guessing the comment should have been, “Bloviate much?”
I counted roughly 23 PAGES scrolling in only 2 of WTSherman’s COMMENTS!
NOW, Sundance and those who fund this site have to pay to store those pages for years and years!
Used to be, people would flag comments like this as “off topic and excessive” and Ad Rem would remove them or warn them.
Every day, there are 2 new pages – one for Presidential matters and the other for off-topic general comments.
I am not trying to be unkind, but if only 100 commenters posted 23 pages on a topic, that would be 230 page lengths to wade through.
I agree.
I am reminded of Hamlet. And the particular quote:
“The lady doth protest too much, methinks.”
I come here to read of significant viewpoints that are applicable to the topic/subject, & not someone trying to write a Readers Digest article about their own doins.
I did not “Report”.
I prefer subtle “jabs” at someones possible narcissism to be better served….. cold.
I quit reading after about the 2nd or 3rd paragraph in the first comment/post.
Kind of a TLDR type deal.
Ya’ll enjoy the discourse with this dude if it continues.
I am gonna skip it. BTW, You are welcome to skip mine too. I won’t care.
GOD Bless ya~!
Sundance has asked repeatedly for comments not to be overlong.
When that is allowed to happen, trolls and bots copy and paste HUGE “comments” and dominate the site, lessening legitimate traffic and readers.
Enough!
.
Yes.
Very weird that they expect something other than equal treatment under the law.
Hey, Amy, you were CREATED EQUAL to the rest of us. That affords you nothing other than being human such as, we the people, are.
That these Justices believe they (their being and those of their loved ones) are worth more than other humans is the anti-thesis of the equation:
human being = human being.
But maybe she has come under the influence of Kentaji’s logic as to what the definition of ‘equal’ is . . .
Agree. Very well said Sundance. And NO! No more taxpayer money for them!
Amy Coney Ginsburg can provide her own security…must be tough to realize people don’t like you a LOT!
Whites who adopt a black child to virtue signal what good holy people they are shouldn’t be on any Court let alone our Supreme Corrupt Court! JMO
So, the wussie male libs on the bench send their female counterparts to beg for protection money. How, er, manly of them.
As Sundance so wisely and fairly points out, “The Supreme Court should have to live in the reality of the world they judicially create.” Amen and amen! We the People have to live with their personal-perspective rulings, and so should they.
Here’s the reality:
The left wants to kill them for decisions that favor the right.
The right isn’t organized to do political violence.
If they want more security, they have an obligation to directly call out that the democrat party is a domestic terrorist organization and they need protection from violent democrats. And all their judicial decisions should all reflect the reality of what democrats are really by not granting democrat positions legitimacy.
Here’s Barrett ““We’re all under real fire these days, and that includes the court. I think we have to demonstrate at every turn that we are understanding that of the the kind of morality that we need to have, and that we need to demonstrate to the public about how important we take the roles that we have, and that we’re not somehow abridging the system or abusing the system,”

In March, Chief Justice John Roberts condemned personal criticism aimed at judges after President Donald Trump criticized the panel for striking down some of his tariffs. “Personally directed hostility is dangerous and has got to stop,” Roberts said during a talk at Rice University in Houston, Texas
He doesn’t condemn the libs for all the horrible things they say about President Trump, only what dems say about the justices.
And we don’t have their government provided Cadillac protection.
Never thought I’d see a judge from the SCOTUS claim victim status.
The idea that they want no contact with the public is abhorrent to our founding ideals.
I agree SD, they already have security details to hide behind their politicized rulings.
Agree!
Live in the world you have created with your rulings.
For instance “birthright citizenship”
You already have more than us, US citizens.
Ms. Conehead really DOES look like a victim in that one photo – is she auditioning for a role in a movie?
“I’m ready for my close-up.”
Really though, she looked quite stressed back in the Rose Garden when President Donald J. Trump #45 was introducing her as his new addition to the Supreme Court.
I kept wondering if her shoes were really too tight or something else was bothering her, she seemed very keyed up, a bundle of nerves.
Exactly right.
They (meaning the so-called “right wing constitutionalists”) made their bed. Now they can sleep in it.
I directed that to the Justices on the right because the lunatics on the left don’t have anything to fear.
Conservatives are not violent. Leftists are violent and very dangerous.
The idea that actions have consequences is abhorrent to the left. Like all bureaucrats in the deep state DC swamp, they want to pass edicts and be insulated from their consequences.
Agreed. Example: Congress insulated themselves from Obamacare.
“The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of men who wanted to be left alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over.
The moment the men who wanted to be left alone are forced to fight back, it is a form of suicide. They are literally killing off who they used to be. Which is why, when forced to take up violence, these men who wanted to be left alone, fight with unholy vengeance against those who murdered their former lives. They fight with raw hate, and a drive that cannot be fathomed by those who are merely play-acting at politics and terror. TRUE TERROR will arrive at these people’s door, and they will cry, scream and beg for mercy… but it will fall upon the deaf ears of the men who just wanted to be left alone.”
― Alexandr Solzhenitsyn
Thank you. Had never read that.
You’re certainly welcome.
I came across Solzhenitsyn when I was in Uncle Sam’s Yacht Club over 50 years ago.
Seems like only yesterday, sorta…
Excellent!
Rats, I should have kept reading before posting.
Well I’m sure that’s never happened to anyone else before…
;-}
Fantastic, Spectacular, Hall-of-Fame Quote
Glad you posted that! Sundance has posted it a few times, and it IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT IN THIS SITUATION!
Conservatives are not inherently violent.
Every man has a breaking point.
Given the birthright citizenship decision I’d say the threats are working great.
WE THE PEOPLE should not have to pay for it.
Let them pay for their security…its not like it won’t be a tax write off.
“The Supreme Court should have to live in the reality of the world they judicially create.”
THIS!!! Well said Sundance!
Dayyyym SD. AMEN!
Barrett could resign.
They never think of that do they?
And I want proof anyone is threatening Kagan. LOL
And, they didn’t seem to care when Scalia was murdered.
Barrett just pocketed $850,000.00 in book sales…..but surely it doesn’t effect her rulings.
(Isn’t book sales the backdoor payoff mechanism in DC?)
Who is the Publisher?
Sentinel
Published September 9, 2025
So she can afford to hire a few more security guards, I’m fairly sure it can used as a tax write off somehow.
Yes it is.
If you can’t take the heat…
Barrett wouldn’t dream of resigning. She believes that she is entitled to be a Supreme Court justice.
She also believes that We The People-taxpayers of the United States-are obligated to give her just as much of OUR money as SHE wants.
I detest this woman and all who are like her.
She will not resign nor retire.
A sitting Supreme Court justice who resigns does not continue to receive the same security protections or benefits associated with active office. Resignation constitutes a complete break from the position, resulting in the loss of salary, senior status, judicial duties, and the specific protections afforded to sitting justices.
Justices who retire under senior status (meeting age and service requirements) retain their office title and continue to receive their full salary for life, which implies continued inclusion in federal judicial security protocols managed by the U.S. Marshals Service.
I don’t know, is our side really threatening them? Did Justice Thomas need extra security at one point and did he hire them privately?
Each judge already has 4 to 8 officers permanently assigned them.
Lone actors is their descript of the threat.
Precisely.
I agree with Sundances observation wholeheartedly. We carry with all the responsibilities it brings. She is a big girl
Like me and she can learn.
Sundance, best statement of the day:
” generally undermined our nation’s domestic tranquility.”
I heard a blurb about how she had to answer her kid re a mom wearing a bullet proof vest.
Fluck her and her ‘privilege’. She needs to ‘check it at the door’.
My daughter goes to work every damn day in a bullet proof vest as do the rest of our LEOs…and has already had ‘the talk’ with my grand baby about self security…and the risks involved with mom’s job.
…regarding the risk of her not coming home, as seems to happen to a lot of LEO’s of late….my daughter was already attacked once, while on the job.
My brisket is in a bunch over that little ‘princess’./SARC
“The Supreme Court should have to live in the reality of the world they judicially create. ” Couldn’t agree more!!!
More on that hearing today—the justices talked about the “Stable” staff such that 30-year pins are occasionally/regularly given out. Groupthink much?
And “diversity” was also commented on by Kagan.
Their security concerns were budgeted and appropriated in March of this year. What’s new?
Every single staff person should have been fired following the Dobbs leak.
Thirty year pins for staff – sounds like staff over in Congress. I always wonder really how much input the electeds have.
If they can’t work under the current job structure then they can resign or retire. No different than the rest of us common folk.
If they don’t support law and order they can reap what they sow along with the rest of us.
And foist on the general public.
A to the men…
Say hello to karma, Amy.
Welcome to our world where your space is overrun with 3rd world invaders sanctified with such nonsense as birthright citizenship, you dumb _____!
Use your 2nd Amendment. Good luck.
Nope, I say not a penney more than is afforded to us mere peasants. They can live “Our Reality”, just the same
Did any reps ask when the Supreme Court plans to reign in the rogue circuit and district courts from lawfare?
Congress is in control of the lower courts. The spineless, pussified, coward, loser, creep Speaker Johnson could have had all those judges out by now.
If the democrat party wasn’t just one big walking mental disorder waiting to go berserk! I only worry about Thomas and Alito. They’re true American patriots.
Ditto
Jesus said a tree is known by its fruits.
The overall appearance before congress is slightly ironic considering the increase in threats is a direct consequence of court rulings that have opened borders, blocked deportation, stalled law enforcement, granted illegal aliens rights to citizenship and generally undermined our nation’s domestic tranquility–well said!
Couldn’t agree more. You make those shitty decisions, Barrett? Then you live by them with the rest of us. Lousy pick. Learn how to shoot a Glock.
Maybe Barrett should step down if she’s that worried. In fact so can Kagan and the dei hire from obidens admin.
Sundance stated it truthfully and fairly. They put us in danger. Well, then reap what you sow.
What is the old saying, be careful what you wish for. From her appearance, seems life at the top is wearing her down fast.
Remember when a female NM judge freed Obama’s terrorist buddies training in the state? Almost in the same breath she said that she was being threatened by right-wing nutjobs. This is right out of the Democrat playbook.
Action and response.
If you don’t like the response carefully examine your action’s.
Amen, Sundance.
By this logic no one in government, including the president, should have taxpayer funded security. I don’t think that is a good idea as it makes heckler’s vetoes much more likely.
The SC made the rulings they now want protected from while leaving you and me to fend for ourselves. Not only that but they want the same taxpayers they screwed over to pay for it.
Ask me if I think their lives are worth more than the U.S. citizen’s that died as a result of their rulings.
Is 2A not good enough protection for Supreme Court justices like Amy? Until the rest of us beleaguered US citizens are afforded ‘extra’ security to navigate the dangers of the world that ACB and her ilk have created, she and her colleagues can learn to duck and cover with the best of us.
She’s got crazy eyes!
Noticed that too, the window to the soul…
Crazy eyes could also be a transhuman tell. I would imagine that having a cerebral cortex hardwired into a gubmint “hive” mind could send one into fits if they knew about it.
This puppet created the atmosphere in which we are forced to live and the Supreme Court wants a spending increase in a bloated budget of 225 million a year ?
I mean these “Justices” make upwards of 500.000 yearly if not more and making more than the President of the United States is a complete F**king joke for what they have created and allowed.
IMO: Justice Barrett is announcing that she can be manipulated by threats. She likely will receive more even with the extra security.
Serve your country Ms. Justice Barrett and resign.
God forbid one of the anchor babies she allowed would ever bring harm to her or her family.

Sadly, it is this kind of thing which would likely move the needle – when it starts happening to the Libs.
If you really want to get depressed, look up how many illegals have actually been detained and removed from the USA. I don’t blame ICE, it’s these activist judges that are slowing down everything.
Many thanks Sundance for your 100% correct post!
I agree with you entirely!
So very tired of these “special people”. Let them bear the consequences of their actions like all the US citizens they have afflicted with their rulings.
Do you think that it is finally dawning on these people that caving in to the Marxists won’t save them? If they are not true believers, the Left will still go after them with a vigor. They mean to destroy anything and anyone who stands in their way, whether you vote for birthright citizenship, or not. So, start voting for the best interests of your country, or resign!
I had AI put a football helmet on her and posted it on the X LastRefuge site
Amen! They and Congress should have to live with the consequences of their policies, decisions, laws, etc.
They deserve no special protection. Even if it was determined that justices should have protection, that protection should be limited to their workplace. Their families and personal homes should have no taxpayer security. The justices should also either drive their own cars to work or take public transit.
They and their family members should face the same risks that we all do. How many people have been killed or raped this year by illegals?
They have made it to the top and want to exist in their ivory tower, surrounded by the like minded in their relatively exclusive club who get rich, set up their children and friends without any risk or fear of consequences. It’s the make believe world and they make it come true for each other.
Maybe she will resign from the court??? Hope springs eternal.
I like the way you think, Sundance!
Yes I agree 110%. They eat and breath the same as us. No special privileges.
Well Amy can retire, we Conservatives won’t miss her.
As Elvis once sang, it’s your baby – you rock it!
DESPICABLE HORRIBLE WOMAN!
Well said. I’m sure Supreme Court Judges get paid handsomely. Free lunches, free parking, plenty of vacation time, tax free shopping in Washington PX. I also hate to be obtuse..but if they are in fear from the violent felons they allow into the country….then let them hire their own body guards.
mmmm …not no…but hell no…..
“ The Supreme Court should have to live in the reality of the world they judicially create”
Yep
