Nancy Mace tried to defeat Senator Lindsey Graham in 2014; she placed 5th in the primary. Nancy Mace tried to run for governor this year, she placed 5th in the South Carolina primary.
Not many people think highly of Nancy Mace. However, Nancy Mace thinks very highly of herself [SEE HERE]. After learning of Senator Lindsey Graham’s sudden death, Mace immediately began positioning herself to take the South Carolina senate seat.
“Mace is set to vacate her coastal House seat early next year, having given up her post to unsuccessfully run for governor this year. Her political future was uncertain following her fifth-place finish in that primary, but the newly open seat offers her a lifeline to extend her tenure in Washington.” (more)
Yuck.
But watch out for Ms. Nikki elbowing her way into position.
BLOOD IN THE WATER – […] Republicans will now race to replace Graham on the November ballot in a special primary election in mid-August, according to state law.
In an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday morning, President Donald Trump said he was already considering who he might back in the race.
“I have somebody that I think would be great, but I don’t want to say it now because it’s just, you know, it’s too soon with Lindsey,” he said. “I don’t want to even talk about anybody, but I do have somebody that I think is really good.”
A special candidate filing period will open up on July 21 for Republicans interested in running for Graham’s seat, and will remain open for a week, according to state law and the state Republican Party. A primary would be held on August 11, with a runoff if no candidate reaches 50 percent of the vote on Aug. 25.
The winner of that contest will face Andrews in November for a full, six-year term that would start in January of next year. (more)

Hell, no.
South Carolina and its distinctive machine politics put a premium on Senatorial service. Thurmond and Hollings had both military and gubernatorial pedigrees. Graham had the military and Congressional tickets, but Scott had none of the above when he broke the glass ceiling.
Nature abhors a vacuum, and that big sucking sound you hear with Lindsey’s exit stage left is going to have significant unforeseeable reverberations, both good, and horribly bad. PRAYERS UP!!! 🙂
There’s no place for Mace.
Dont forget Mark Sanford who thinks quite highly of himself. Sadly my favorite SC senator was Jim Demint but he sold out for $1M sinecure at Heritage so he could avoid confronting some of the power brokers in the senate back in the day.
“Not many people think highly of Nancy Mace. However, Nancy Mace thinks very highly of herself”
Good luck with that, Nancy.
I rode next to her to the Spartanburg, SC rally in 2016 when it was announced that Jeb! would be withdrawing from the primary. She was driving a motorhome festooned with DJT signs during the 2016 Primary. I was a volunteer there with Carl Paladino’s NYer’s for Trump volunteers. She was running the Columbia, SC Trump HQ.
My impressions of the few days I spent working and being with her have proven that statement in quotes to be spot-on.
Asked about a potential replacement for Graham,
President Trump said:
‘No matter who is selected, the Senate seat should remain filled by a woman.’ 🙂
Mace can mace the race with a can of mace.
As a woman, I hope he did not actually say that! Women are highly overrated.
Look at Susan Collins – she reminds me of a very feeble Ethel Merman but she couldn’t belt out a song if her life depended on it.
Look at Murkowski – so feeble, too, like Collins, way past time for her to step down.
Look at Feinstein – I mean, don’t LOOK at her, but consider that she should NEVER have been in the United States Senate when she proved how stupid she was as Mayor of San Francisco and disclosed a very important clue that the SF police detectives had developed after many sleepless days and nights – the shoe prints left by the Midnight Stalker, Richard Ramirez.
There are more examples!
Just because someone is a woman does not impart super powers of logic and reason that are so important in the conduct of our nation’s business!
“As a woman, I hope he did not actually say that! Women are highly overrated.”
LOL It was a joke, of course the President would never say such a thing, certainly not in public.
J
It’s a joke about Graham and his “femininity”, if you know what I mean.
When I went back right now to look at the comments, I realized that!
I should have realized that, as I was reacting to a comment by Wordman! 🙂
<I should have realized that, as I was reacting to a comment by Wordman!>
Your knee-jerk incorrect reaction perfectly illustrates why we don’t want anymore women. Thank you for proving our point.
Bless your heart J3S… The current make-up of CONgress is:
•HoR: 25% female; 75% male.
•Senate: 29% female; 71% male.
Clearly CONgress is now & always has been a male dominated entity. Who would you say bears the brunt of the responsibility for our current state of affairs?
Thank you for showing us who you are.
I took it to be a joke.
No matter who is SELECTED.
Don’t forget Amy C. B., the virtue-signaling, fake constitutionalist SCOTUS judge with her two little DEI adoptees!
UGH!!
Just to correct myself, for the record: Richard Ramirez was known as the “Night Stalker” (not the “Midnight Stalker”).
Yep. Certainly gives distressing face to many women in politics. As a woman, am sad to say, too many are has-been, shrill and then too far left of sound legislative reason.
Cat fight?
Double Yuk
WORSE THAN a ” BLACK FRIDAY SALE “
Well if anything Nancy Mace would stir the Senate up. Good or bad? I don’t know.
If that many people don’t like her, she may very well lose.
I’m kind of worried about the Ohio governor’s race because it would be worse if we elected Amy Acton vs Ramaswampy and I know I’m already holding my nose.
Did you mean “death angel”?
I heard from my Ohio…..death Angel is way ahead. 🤔
Oh no, where did you hear? Internal polls?
All Amy has to do is pull up his damning tweet disparaging American workers and praising H1b. He cooked his goose but I have to resentfully vote for him. I’m really upset President Trump endorsed him but he’s Vance’s best bud I guess. Would have voted for Dave Yost but he dropped out soon after the endorsement.
No thank you. Won’t happen. We don’t need that.
I was wondering when the bird would come out of its cage…
I think Trump is talking about Pam Evette that lost her Gov bid in primary runoff
yes…said to be a loyal Trump supporter, and just missed being the GOP candidate for S.C. Governor. Probably very good choice.
No one knows she would be like. We need a proven fighter; someone who is guaranteed to not just be another senator.
Well, we know we know we don’t want Mace or Hayley…even temporarily.
In SC, the governor and lieutenant governor run as a team. She chose to run in the primary with current Governor McMaster’s son. I’m against dynastic politics. That and her choice not to appear in the last two gubernatorial debates before the primary give me pause.
Evette proved herself loyal to PDJT and the state party in how she handled herself in the SC governor’s race. She would make an excellent Senator.
And forced a runoff with popular AG Wilson.
Unlike Mace who has been stomped twice now, Evette does well in state-wide elections.
Not.
Not! She’s also a carpetbagger from Ohio originally. She’s an advocate for visas to import skilled workers.
Not.
Prior to her being Lieutenant Governor, she never held elective office. She got wiped out in the primary by 118,000 votes. It wasn’t close by any means. I was glad to see her lose; I live in South Carolina.
In that MTP interview President Trump spent a good amount of time praising S.C. Governor Henry McMaster — IMO that’s who the President prefers.
She supports cheap labor over SC citizen residents, so NO!
Nancy Mace is in a sex scandal due to her poor cholces.
Just like Stikki Nikki.
And Marjorie “Tail” Greene.
And Lauren Boobert.
Nancy is the spoiked daughter of a general who ran interference for her.
She is barely more qualified than South Carolina child murderer Susan Smith to represent the Palmetto State.
No Nikki…..she’s like a bad rash; just won’t go away….
Sticky Nikki.
What is it about these “girl-boss” ambitious women these days?
Not a Proverbs 31 woman amongst them…
Some women, like Joan of Arc, and Queen Isabella, stepped up when someone needed to do the job of fighting invaders. Joan fought the English, and Isabella fought the Moors.
Leadership is not to be sought like a prize for one’s ego, but to be awarded to someone capable of doing the job.
Neither Joan nor Isabella asked for the power they would wield. But both women did their best when they were called. Isabella was called by the leaders of Spain who loathed the weasel who was king of Castile at the time. Joan was called by God Himself.
As was Deborah the Judge.
We need more men with courage and good judgment too.
DEI is nothing new. It’s been around for a while. Having said that, I have worked with some very competent women during my career that were a pleasure to work with and I have had a couple of female bosses/supervisors that made life miserable for me and my co-workers. They were power addicted.
Wouldn’t Trump’s choice be McMaster?
Just picking up on what Sundance laid down in the photo
That would be my choice, but it might not be possible within the state rules. He would be free to run in the next general election, I believe.
McMaster is 79. He’s looking to retire after his term ends.
79 perfect for the Senate!
Hell, he could go for another 20 years in the Senate the way those people hang on.
McMaster is too old to run and win a six year term. We don’t want one more geriatric Senator! But the real problem is that he would be appointing himself. That wouldn’t look good, even if that’s within the rules. He should appoint someone who can benefit from filling out Graham’s term to make it easier to win in November.
Yes incumbents have some advantage.
McMaster does not have to appoint himself.
He can appoint whoever and sign up to run in the primary next month.
He then could win the primary and the general election in November then be seated in Janurary.
I’m not sure if McMaster can appoint himself.
Both President Trump and Governor McMaster endorsed Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette in her campaign for governor.
Also, Ralph Norman should be considered.
Yes, if he’s interested.
I like McMaster but he is too old. I doubt he would want to wade through the swamp with the other swamp creatures.
“But watch out for Ms. Nikki elbowing her way into position.”
Despite my previous comment above, if I had to choose between Nikki & Nancy for a Senate seat, I would choose Nancy.
Nikki was supposed to take over MAGA Nation at the Republican Convention when the “Good News” from Butler was expected to arrive.
#NEVER.
Nikki is the female Ron DeSantis….
Just sayin….
They could do a lot worse than a DeSantis. Like another Thune or McConnell of either sex.
No….just compare her tenure as Gov of SC with his in Florida. She did manage to remove the Confederate flag tho/s
Nancy is a warrior, she just uses odd weapons. There are two in particular that she wields that can draw a lot of attention.
Who’s the guy in the photo with Trump? Looks like the Gov but is that a subtle hint Sundance?
“Nancy is a warrior,”
Yes, she certainly is.
Yes, that’s Gov. McMaster. First elected Republican to endorse Trump in 2016. Trump repaid the endorsement by moving Gov. Haley to the UN Ambassadorship. Lt. Gov McMaster moved up a notch then won re-election. McMaster has been a loyal Trump supporter since Day 1. Pretty down-to-earth guy that doesn’t seek out the limelight.
I’m sure he and President Trump will agree on who gets the appointment to finish Graham’s term, then get to run as the endorsed incumbent.
I hope that doesn’t happen. We (SC) needs to do better.
I agree.
Since she has been aspiring for political office(s) for some time now, IMO Nancy should have made some different choices in her personal life so that they would not turn around and come back to be used against her. She is very smart; however, when your in the public eye you cannot afford to cut corners or make questionable decisions and choices.
Neither is qualified
My comment deliberately confined itself to a decision between TWO choices, both of which were enumerated. The qualifications of which you mention are not factored in the choice.
C. None of the above!
Please, NOT Nikki Haley!
Nancy Mace is in a sex aand blackmail scandal due to her poor cholces. She went to the Epstein card to give her tail cover.
Just like Stikki Nikki. She was playing hide the kishka with moneymen while her hubby was stationed overseas, allegedly.
And Marjorie “Tail” Greene. She went to the Epstein card to cover for her infidelities. She is now the kept woman of the View cows.
And Lauren Boobert. Lauren was so hot to trot she didn’t even check to see the guy who entered her was a Dem operative who set her up to shame her.
All four of them were vewwy vewwy kwiet quiet when Madison Cawthorn talked about the sex parties and hookers and underage girls in DC involving members of both parties.
Nancy is the spoiked daughter of a general who ran interference for her.
Nancy is probably more qualified than South Carolina child murderer Susan Smith to represent the Palmetto State. But that aint a high bar. Virtually any adult registered R in that state has equal or better qualications.
SC just needs someone who doesn’t run to Ukraine everytime he has a day off.
In all fairness he had a little extra time during the DHS shutdown to go to Disney World & buy himself a Little Mermaid bubble wand…
This SC voter says no to Mace, no to Haley, and no to Lynch who was badly defeated by Graham in our recent primary.
I’m still thinking about who I think is worth a yes since I wasn’t anticipating this.
As a SC voter, I think McMaster is qualified; so is Ralph Norman. Is either the best to fight the elite totalitarians? I don’t know. An average senator is not acceptable. We need a hell raising fighter.
Please let us know. ASAP please.
How are Gov. McMaster’s Trump credentials? 😉
Solid. But McMaster is 79 and looking to retire.
Mace is an attention seeker plain and simple. She fought and became the first woman to graduate from the Citadel ……all for attention.
Wasn’t there a scandal around that cadet? Or was it another cadet?
Two of the other women that were there.
Four women matriculated at The Citadel in 1996. Two dropped out after the first semester due to extreme hazing. Both of them eventually filed harassment lawsuits.
Nancy Mace graduated after 3 years because she had some transfer credits from another college. The first woman to graduate from The Citadel with a 4 year degree, and go on to serve in the military is Colonel Petra Lovetinska Seipel –
https://www.3rdmeb.marines.mil/Leaders/Biography/Article/3637256/colonel-petra-lovetinska-seipel/
She deserves some respect for that. Couldn’t have been easy.
Her father was the commandant wasn’t he?
Yes; 1997-2005
Nancy Mace’s first year was 1996.
She deserves condemnation for that, not respect. And, like always happens with women in the military, she sailed through without meeting the standards males have to meet.
Likely. Her sister was more qualified.
She is flakier than a biscuit.
Big time. Always quick to mention she was the first woman to graduate from the citadel.
While there are some terrible Republican men who are politicians who are no models of wisdom and patriotism, of competence and experience, there have been a number of women Republican politicians who have been both full of themselves and grossly overrated their abilities. The party needs more strong principled men who know how to fight – figuratively – unapologetically for what is good and noble, what will improve the lives of hard working American families.
Yuck is right Sundance!
Betsy- we need your picture of the yuck face little girl and kitty.
🤮🙀
Or her lovely picture of Scarlet with her “Southern Stare”…
💯💯💯
Sundance, there is another factor in play here, namely appointment of a temporary successor by South Carolina’s Governor for the remainder of Senator Grahams’s term (i.e. until January 2027). Whoever is appointed would likely gain some advantage if the Republican Party chose that candidate for the general election.
“Under the 17th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, states may authorize their governors to make temporary appointments when a U.S. Senate vacancy occurs. South Carolina is among the states that allow the governor to appoint an interim senator until a successor is elected. That means Gov. Henry McMaster would appoint someone to fill Graham’s seat and represent South Carolina in the Senate on a temporary basis. The appointee would serve until a successor is elected and qualified under the procedures established by state law.”
Please note that SC has open primaries and we do not register to vote by party so I see no way we can have a closed special primary. We will need to get out and vote to overwhelm the dems who will be voting.
Republicans have a female problem. I’m not talking about sexism. A female ‘Republican politician’ cannot be be trusted to keep her word. If you want to keep that senate seat get a male candidate. If not, just give it to Annie Andrews. 🙄
Harriet Hageman is OK.
Noooooooooooooooo (breathe) noooooooooooooo 🤮
Good lord not another narcissistic batsh!t crazy female in a position of power. We have seen enough of her surgical enhanced assets.
Whomever it is, they’d better be able to beat the Democrat!
wrong Carolina
Nancy needs to find a real job
Well, I still demand to know what’s actually going on next-door in Kentucky! Now that another Senator is unexpectedly but certifiably dead, will they “come clean” about their Turtle? After all, the balance of P-O-W-E-R has now just changed.
Or, shall we just sit back and be entertained as the rats in both States now scramble for position?
~12 HOURS since Senator Graham’s death was announced??
tacky, Ms. Mace.
She is an average female republican. Right now, we need the best that America has to offer. We MUST defeat the elite totalitarians, and I don’t believe that she has what it takes. Right now, the congress is a clown show, and we do not need more drama.
🤡 show? No, 💩 show.
I think very highly of Scott Bessant and he is from SC. He is very loyal to the president and to the MAGA movement. Maybe he can recommend someone to the president that would have the same integrity and MAGA creds. We need a Trump/ MAGA person, and not a Vance/Tucker type of person IMO.
The man’s body isn’t even cold yet…
I had no great love for Graham, but geez.
On the bright side, I guess this means that World War Reddit is over?
I don’t live in SC but I’ll tell you who I would not want. Haley.
DS Nikki deserves to be black listed from any political office
As my late mother used to say “The is a big difference between wanting and getting.”
Sounds kinda like the old: “Wish in one hand and poop in the other, and see which hand gets full first”. (cleaned that up as it’s Sunday). 😉
Of course she does.
No Nancy! No Nikki!
Find somebody who isn’t a RINO or mentally unstable.
The problem is the Republican leadership want another Lindsey Graham to support the Chamber of Commerce cheap labor lobby.
Isn’t there a state Senator that could step in from South Carolina with conservative MAGA credentials? Maybe not a big national name like Nikki or Mace but well known in SC which is where name recognition counts.
She always strikes me as mentally unstable.
Compared to who or what? If you want mental stability 3/4 of Congress is out.
Well, that is a requirement for Congress, is it not?
I loved president Trump’s comment on meet the press that he stuck Nikki Haley at the UN to open the space for Mcmaster to take over as governor, and then he commented how much everyone knows how he doesn’t really care about the UN and how she was perfect for the spot. I laughed out loud it was so great. 🤣His honesty is so refreshing!
Well, that puts me somewhat at ease that McMaster likely wouldn’t pick Haley, knowing that President Trump helped him make it to Gov. Appreciate that info Brenda.
White House press pool refers to Mace as the “Katie Porter” of the R House Caucus. LMAO
2 more incoming rinos between graham & mcconnell…America….how sad…
Nancy Mace needs to realize that she is DONE DONE DONE with politics… she is a crazy fantasist who sees a rapist around every corner (amongst many other issues).
SC will NOT vote for her in a million years!
Stick a spork in Haley and Mace….they’re done…….someone just forgot to tell them so.
(They remind of a spork….neither a spoon nor a fork and almost useless.)
Here’s hoping SC can do better than those two.)
Maybe she and E. Jean Carroll can start up an x-rated T-shirt business.
If she didn’t run around in public in her pjs, maybe she would not have to be looking out for rapists so much.
Wasn’t her father President of the Citadel?
Isn’t she a sexual assault survivor?
She has been a stalwart in the push to release the Epstein files.
I’d say she deserves the shadow of a doubt.
The push for Epstein files was an ANTI-Trump position.
“If you ain’t first, you’re last!” 😉
No no Nimrata🤮
South Carolina seems to be the epicenter of backstabbing RINOs. There is something wrong in South Carolinia.
New money now versus old money?
It used to be that one needed to have been raised in the “South of Broad” neighborhood, to be given any credibility, from what I remember of the early 80’s.
You might have a point but there about 6 MAGA politicians in the entire collection of republican state legislatures. MAGA doesn’t exist as a force at any political level in the US.
I wonder if Mitch McConnell had a 20 minute conversation with Graham about his replacement?
Mitch was reanimated by the devil.
Please, please South Carolina – do not foist Nikki Haley on our nation – how can we miss you, Nikki, if you won’t go away?
We will have to dust off our Civil War muskets and fire on Fort Sumter again. LOL.
Don’t worry, we won’t.
The body is not even cold and the cockroaches come flying out of the woodwork. DISGUSTING. Can’t believe we can’t come up with people better than Mace or Nikki.
Anyone with the Biggie-sized egos that these ladies have, should be kept well away from power. DJT should appoint Nancy and Nikki as ambassadors to Azerbaijan and Kurdistan, respectively, so that they can’t split the vote.
The vultures are out! 🤮🤮🤮
The SHARKS are circling in the waters. The guy is not buried yet, and … we are watching the bottom feeders wanting to take a bite. I’m not putting down “real” sharks. Just the political kind.
The vultures are circling.
Political ambition never stops to grieve. Nancy is right up there with Hubert Humphrey. lol
I am here for you Lyndon if you need me.
At least LBJ could handle Congress. Trump could learn something from him.
