In one of the most transparent appearances in oval office history, a passionate, self-interested and professionally demure Mark Rutte pours on the praise for President Trump and puts on a massive sales pitch. You can tell from President Trump’s demeanor, tone and general ambivalence, he too can see how over the top the praise and back-slapping is.
Secretary Rutte was intensely and diplomatically focused on not allowing any accurate criticism or statement of disappointment from President Trump be left unchallenged to frame the tone and context of the meeting by the media. This is quite a desperate spectacle to witness when you understand the stakes for Europe which were carried by Rutte. WATCH:
CTH readers can see through the professionally demure motivations of the NATO secretary, and it was obvious from President Trump’s response that Rutte was transparently playing to the U.S. audience and DC stakeholders. That said, you’ve got to give Rutte credit for tap-dancing that fine line.
It was a great sales pitch, and President Trump was very courteous and respectful of the showmanship, but I doubt President Trump was moved much. The G7 assembly in Turkey will be very interesting.
For the G7 (+13) in France, Zelenskyy went all-in with the Ukraine false flag and attack on Moscow. It will be interesting to watch what the “coalition of the willing” have planned for the next assembly.
Don’t forget that this scumbag Rutte fired on his own farmers when they protested being forced off their farms.

I have to draw a parallel, even though it might offend some – it’s like trying to protect a battered wife that is still clinging to the security of her abuser, or trying to cure an inveterate recidivist alcoholic that drinks all day. Self-destructive behavior sometimes goes beyond the point of being able to be stopped, and 3 decades of importation of third world invaders and shooting themselves in the foot with the war on fossil fools is more than enough to understand that we should not be supporting them.

For 80 years, the American government (and by extension, the American taxpayer) has spent time, effort and treasure to defend Europe.
At first, it made sense.
Europe was devastated by war.
However, there comes a time when the baby grows into an adult.
Even then-General Eisenhower said (in 1951)… that if NATO still existed 10 years hence (in 1961) then it will have failed in its purpose.
1961 is 65 years ago.
In 1991, the declared adversary of NATO – the USSR – ceased to exist.
NATO’s reason for existence then also ceased to exist.
The US has allowed Europe to skimp on defense spending for 8 decades – allowing European countries to use that money instead for grandiose ‘cradle-to-grave’ social safety nets.
The oh-so-sophisticated Europeans have mocked the ‘Cowboy Americans’ for decades for their supposedly backwards attitudes on socialism, free healthcare, education, you name it… while taking, without shame, the protection provided by Americans that allowed them to build their little utopias.
Well, 80 years is a lifetime for most.
And it’s time for Europe to stand on its own 2 feet.
Uncle Sam is tired of neglecting his own nation, to feed a bunch of greedy grifters who simultaneously whine for more American $$$… while heaping disdain upon the giver.

Europe is intentionally imploding itself. Americans are expected to defend them against themselves?
The whole world knows Russia has no desire to import people who do not fit into their society the way the European Leadership is doing.
Russia does not want war with Europe. They will, of course defend themselves against such fools.
The bogeyman is the European Leadership, not the native Europeans nor Russia.
They need to be responsible for their own defense.
As an American, no, I do not wish our troops to be over there when they are committing suicide and there is no actual standing threat.

The USA needs to leave NATO as we get no support when needed. We can go to individual countries for arranging bases and it would be less money. We should end all foreign costs and cut UN money to $1 per year. USAID should end. All existing money we send foreign now should go to pay off US debt.
So difficult to watch without cringing.
Abolish NATO.
