According to the Cuban government: “It has been established that the neutralized speedboat, registered in Florida FL7726SH, was carrying 10 armed people, who, according to preliminary statements by the detainees, intended to carry out an infiltration for terrorist purposes.”
The Cuban military opened fire on a speedboat with 10 passengers. According to established reports, 4 passengers were killed and six were wounded and captured by the Cuban coast guard forces. Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed the story as it surfaced yesterday (Associated Press). WATCH:
The Cuban government has released the names of those captured: “1-Amijail Sánchez González, 2-Leordan Enrique Cruz, Gómez, 3-Conrado Galindo Sariol, 4-José Manuel Rodríguez Castelló, 5-Cristian Ernesto Acosta Guevara, 6-Roberto Azcorra Consuegra. Among the deceased was Michel Ortega Casanova. Work is being done on the identification of the other 3.”
Cuba claims the boat, registered out of Florida, was carrying ten people intended to conduct terrorism in Cuba. Secretary Marco Rubio says the U.S. is conducting our own investigation to determine what took place.
In the press remarks above, Secretary Rubio also discussed the current status of U.S.-Iran negotiations.

FTA:
“A truck driver who fell into an “obsessive and diabolical quest” for Cuba’s freedom was one of the four passengers killed on the Florida-registered speedboat that allegedly infiltrated its waters and was shot at by the country’s border guards.
Michel Ortega Casanova “became so obsessed” with the plot that he and the three others killed on the stolen vessel “didn’t think about the consequences nor their own lives,” according to his brother, Misael.
Misael, who spoke about how Cubans had endured “great suffering,” said his family was in the dark about the operation, which Caribbean authorities defined as an attempt to infiltrate the country for “terrorist ends.”
“No one knew,” Misael told the Associated Press on Wednesday. “My mother is devastated.””
Cubans = Caribbean Authorities ???
Really AP ???
AP is BS.
I realize this may seem callous, but I think it is reasonable to assume that this scenario has occurred more than once.
In fact, it’s probably occurred many times in the past.
So then why are we hearing about this particular incident on national news now? Why is this particular incident suddenly thrust into the public spotlight?
I think it’s possible we are being psychologically prepped for an op against Cuba. Not that getting the communist out of that island nation would be a bad thing, as long as it’s for the right reasons. But all too often these type of regime change operations are NOT for the right reasons, and in fact are done for all the wrong reasons, but primarily for deep state globalists to take over another country and exfiltrate whatever wealth is available in that country.
‘Exfiltrate whatever wealth’? In Cuba????? Help me understand that one lol!
Cigars. Old autos. Coffee.
That’s about it.
Your screen name says it all….
They have a lot of those valuable classics 🙂
Me? I’d be eyeing some coffee….
At one time Havana was similar to Las Vegas. Full of casinos, hotels and resort style living.
And Batista was just as corrupt. But as usual in revolutions what they get rid of was still better than the new government. US revolution an exception.
US; pre-Lenin, Cuba; post-Lenin
My grandfather ran a paper company in Cuba in the 40’s ,my grandmother would tell me the place was absolutely beautiful.
Baseball players.
And lots of prostitution which was legal under Batista.
Bill Gates could stay in time zone w/o going to Russia Russia Russia…
Gambling and the entertainment that accompanies it.
Cuban cigars suck. All the great families of that industry fled long ago.
sugar
High quality cigars for the elite and sugar to contribute to the diabetes and obesity problem for the masses.
Their cigars are not what they once were. Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic have surpassed them.
Sugar Cane
High fructose corn syrup eliminated the need for much sugar cane.
World price of sugar is 25% of Fanjuls Florida grown….
In the eyes of the ruling class, consider they may see Cuba as prime real estate for the taking. An added bonus is that it will come with its own slave labor.
‘57 Chevy stockpile worth trillions!!!! 😏
With some simple research, the answer is readily available.
. Cuba’s major natural resources include nickel, cobalt, oil, and arable land. The country is one of the top producers of nickel and cobalt globally, and its fertile land supports significant agricultural production, particularly in sugarcane and tobacco.
This sort of thing used to happen rather frequently back when I was much younger, and obviously we heard about it. I am not really sure why it would be hushed up now. Certainly this one might have had a deep state wink and nod, but “it ain’t necessarily so.”
A CIA psyop ? Perhaps, but the participants had to be quite delusional to believe they could succeed. There has to be more to it than has been revealed so far.
Probably lots of alcohol consumed.
Seems to me more like the Cuban govt may be trying to divert attention from increasingly severe problems of their own making and blame it all on the U.S. But if they think this can equate to a second Bay of Pigs, then they are delusional and starting to lose it.
Maybe you don’t know much about CIA false flag ops. They typically use dunces or disturbed or desperate people who are fooled into doing something that they might not otherwise do or were leaning towards doing but just needed a final “push“ (convincing) and maybe some money (incentive) to do it.
That’s the more we don’t know about yet. Were they promised help that never materialized? Was this conducted in broad daylight? Considering that Cuba must be on high alert after the Venezuela operation and statements by the Trump administration toward Cuba, this just doesn’t smell right.
Well, of course it doesn’t smell right, mostly because we’ve had no forewarning about any strategy against Cuba that President Trump has been been planning. And that is because he doesn’t reveal his forward strategies.
On the other hand, we don’t know that there is an op planned against Cuba, I was just pointing out that false flag events usually are used as a diversion from something else that’s going to happen.
I guess my main point is not to make too much out of it going in any particular direction because, like I’ve said and like you’ve said and
others, we just really don’t know.
I don’t remember any of the presidents top advisors that we normally trust to have signaled some kind of operation against Cuba. Although I admit, I might have missed it.
But I don’t mind being in the position of “wait and see“.
Kind of like that guy, what’s his name? Tyler Robinson. Yeah, that’s it. “Ultra” weird for sure.
Yeah.
Amazing how quickly he’s been moved off the headlines into the dustbin of “headline history” despite his case being (hopefully) very much active.
And – It’s unfortunate that I feel it necessary to add “(hopefully)” to that statement.
Their best and brightest left and came to the US. The rest are dying on the vine. In a few more years they will be back to pre-Columbian status. Leave them alone.
Possible scenarios.
Criminal Cubans here illegally decided to go back to Cuba with the guns they had right here because that was going to happen so might as well grab their guns and go make trouble in Cuba.
Cubans here legally decided they have had enough and took matters into their own hands but got caught.
Cuban government is lying.
Cubans recruited by CIA for dirty work and got caught.
Cuban drug runners.
Cuban illegals recruited and sent to Cuba to create an incident.
Big party fishing for giant grouper with guns to take out the fish. Well, maybe not.
I pick:
Cuban illegals recruited and sent to Cuba to create an incident.
Or it actually could be just a few stupid people with a boat, a little money, and too much time on their hands — doing something that resulted in them dying stupid.
We are drowning in chaos on all sides, at all levels, and are not magically protected from suspecting everything and anything that happens. (And anyway, exactly what ARE those yard workers doing with those mowers and hand tools at the house across the street, hmmm?)
I’m thinking something like Option 1, as the boat appears to be stolen and getting within a mile of the shore suggests stupidity or obsession. Plus, Rubio et al aren’t all over the airwaves making hay.
I imagine all the left will be demanding that the USA do something about this, yet have nothing to say if US does the same to protect its borders. The left just wants to complain, about anything. Especially while this administration is in power. Black is white, right is wrong, good is bad. leftist mantra
CIA Psyop to trigger Uniparty histrionics of: “why is it ok when we blow up boats in the middle of the ocean, but NOT ok when Cuba does it…?”
BTW: missing the almost daily videos of the drug boats getting taken out…those were a fun watch.
These are just as fun to watch, IMO
The Commie Cuban report (story) is now falling apart. If any Americas were killed by the Cuban Coast Guard,….. it’s time for some new kinetic diplomacy delivered with Hellfire missal messages to those responsible,… from the top down.
FOFA, Commies!
I’m no fan of Cuba or its commie dictator, but if someone is going to take a fishing boat with 10 people and guns within a mile of Cuba’s coast, don’t expect me to start clamoring for the government to put US troops in harm’s way avenging their death or arrest.
The names point to the Amish again.
Amish youth heading to Cuba of all places.
These boys trying to put the rum in Rumspringa?
The boat appears to be a 24-foot Pro-Line motorboat built in 1981, according to Florida state records.
A 24′ single engine center console with 10 people on board, labeling this as a “speed” boat is really a stretch.
This sounds like a Mariel boat lift with Capt. Wrong Way Peach Fuzz at the helm.
A Proline from 1981 is lucky the engine didn’t fall off. It’s not been good boating weather, the seas are like a washing machine, these guys were whipped.
Fidel succeeded despite sailing in a rickety boat and just about everything going wrong back when he landed on Cuba.

Is there a difference between, say, American citizens so ‘deranged’ by ICE or Republicans that they take matters into their own hands, and Cuban Americans overwhelmed by the situation in Cuba, doing the same thing? Perhaps this is what this is…….
My bet is before Trump leaves he will extract Castro from Cuba.
Or we can send all the libtards who want out of America to a truly 3rd world utopia in our backyard.
Raul is 94, it’s a pretty safe bet.
Cuban government is an evil tyranny. My grandfather, uncle and aunt were victims of the Che show trials. They were counter-revolutionary freedom fighters against communism and condemned to dig their own graves and executed by firing squad. My father returned during the Bay of Pigs to help free Cuba and you Treehouse patriots know what happened there considering it was a CIA headed operation and what we’ve learned from Mr. Sundance’s enlightening information regarding our intelligence community. My father fought side by side with freedom fighting Americans many Korean War and WWII veterans from Texas, Tennessee and Arkansas only to die there without air support. My father served 10+ years as a political prisoner and tortured not only by Cubans, but Viet Cong/NVA, Russians and Chinese comrade advisors…I wouldn’t doubt the CIA and other IC having their hands in any false flag operation or propaganda media harvesting to counter President Trump or Secretary Rubio and take their attention away from the real prize, Iran nuclear resolution and ending the EU war in the Ukraine…Give it time, with an effective naval blockade and cleaning up our backyard(our hemisphere), Cuba will be isolated and will eventually go the way of Venezuela or come to the negotiating table…pronto…Cuba is peanuts compared to what’s happening domestically to our Constitutional Republic not to mention the economic balance of power against the global elite…I just hope this isn’t another “Clinton pass” after the Cuban government downed 2 Cessna planes in international airspace, killing four humanitarian pilots helping rescue refugee rafters back in the nineties…Knowing President Trump, if the facts lead to the similar circumstances, he’ll hit them twice as hard. God Bless the USA!!!
While Russia is busy with Ukraine, maybe it is time to take Cuba! Monroe Doctrine…
Just read where the boat was stolen from Big Pine Key in Florida. The thief had family in Cuba including two daughters.
Uh, we were told these were Americans … but look at the names.
When I was a short wave listener in the mid 1960’s, Radio Havana was a great place to listen to the propaganda. I wanted to confirm reception of the station, and sent a signal report to them. I got a nice looking SWL (short wave listener) card confirming my report, but then started to get a Cuban newspaper that was totally about the revolution. It was full of all kinds of stories in English with supporting photos on what was going on down there. I was somewhat concerned about this several years later, when I needed to get a Secret Clearance for the USN, and eventually a crypto clearance, thinking that the fact that I was on the Cuban mailing list may mark me. I included all that info in the applications, apparently it did not have a bearing on the clearances. Guess they decided I wasn’t a closet commie, just a guy with radio hobby.
Thank you for your top-secret service, sir!
As for me, I consider that the Cubans had just as much right to shoot at a motorboat as we do, since it is for the same reasons. Defense of homeland.
Obviously, the first task for both nations is to figure out what the hell was going on . . . and it’s going to take a little time to properly do that.
One leaf to turn over:
A “speedboat,” as it was called by the press, big enough to board ten people, seaworthy and powerful enough to run around in the Caribbean, costs a lot of money. A lot of money.
I don’t think the crazy truck driver brother, reported elsewhere to be the honcho of this operation, had that much spare change laying round. I don’t think the others, in league with him, could have put enough dinero together to buy or lease such a speedboat unless there’s a lot we don’t know about them.
Whose boat? How and why did these expats get their hands on it? Stolen, or parked at the curb, keys in it, and a full tank of gas? By whom? Who financed this gig, and why?
Start there.
They were either drug smugglers or mercenaries.
