Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski has now pledged to vote against the SAVE Act. The SAVE Act would bar states from registering a person to vote unless they provide documents or evidence proving U.S. citizenship. It would also require all Americans to present ID when they go to vote. The SAVE Act is supported by President Trump and strongly opposed by GOPe members of the UniParty.
WASHINGTON — Sen. Lisa Murkowski became the first Republican senator to speak out against the SAVE Act, a sweeping election bill backed by President Donald Trump that would require proof of citizenship to vote nationwide.
In doing so, the Alaskan reminded her colleagues on Tuesday that they roundly claimed to oppose new federal election laws as recently as Joe Biden’s presidency.
“When Democrats attempted to advance sweeping election reform legislation in 2021, Republicans were unanimous in opposition because it would have federalized elections, something we have long opposed,” Murkowski said in a statement. “Now, I’m seeing proposals such as the SAVE Act and MEGA that would effectively do just that. Alaska tried to revoke Ranked Choice Voting last election but the tribes in Alaska were bribed with promises and the action failed 50.5% for keeping RCV 49.5% for revoking it. Trump’s administration has paid attention to the Alaskan tribes and done more for them than FJB ever did, so if revoking RCV came up again in Alaska the chances of it succeeding are better than they were last election.
It will be on the ballot in the upcoming election. Everybody needs to pray for us as there is a lot of dark money that comes into the state to sway our elections.

Better minds than mine might have a clue. I don’t. I would take a look at exactly what the VP as President of the Senate can do (if anything). If Fetterman can find reason to vote for this, then maybe there are others that can be persuaded. Just need one or two more I think. (Would make it “bipartisan”, a nice touch.) There has to be a smoke-filled room somewhere where deals can be made. There are Republicans in the Senate that support this, and perhaps they can up their pressure on Thune and his cronies.
The SAVE Act will be dragged out as long as possible, by Thune, and then torpedoed at the last minute to inflict as much damage as possible on GOP chances in the midterms. Their goal is to lose the midterms by a large margin and then watch as President Trump is impeached and convicted. The next steps after that will be either kinetic or outright surrender.

Start cutting all Federal Payments to any State that does not support the SAVE Act and shutting down Department of WAR bases and any Federal Government Offices, except the warehouses, in Blue States as well.

Without today’s SAVE Act, the crooks will be able to vote as many times as possible. All they need is a voter roll (or a handler instructing them) and pretend to be that person who has not voted.
What Murkowski is pledging support for is one person voting multiple locations under multiple names.
This act into law would place that facial ID into data base upon voting so no one could vote twice or more. Well, that’s what I assume.

Also there have been the states hiding voter information that should be public information needed to ensure election integrity. and then there is the “hand off” of Comer from the HOC to the Ethics concerning a corruption investigation.

As a rule, politicians are self-absorbed working hard to increase their own access to wealth, power, and influence. Anything that gets in the way of that, no matter how desirable and beneficial it is for the country they are supposed to be serving, is bad in their view (for the reason already stated).

Yes, of course, proof of citizenship and photo id. No more mail-in ballots. Absentee ballots worked just fine because one would not receive on with out registering, IN PERSON, at the local election office with proof of citizenship and photo ID.
However, that is not enough. We need verification the address on the photo id matches the address to which they have registered.
THAT TOO is not yet enough. At the time of registration AND AGAIN at the time a voter casts a ballot, an cross-check the address on their photo id and their registration with the property tax roles to verify the address they claim is their residence is a residential address within the correct voting district.
