It should not come as a surprise to see the Senator who lost her 2010 primary, then refused to leave congress and ran as a write in candidate; then supported changing the state voting system to a ranked choice structure; who then lost again in 2022 but ultimately won because Democrats all listed her as their second choice in the new structure; come out against anything that would lead to stronger voting requirements.
Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski has now pledged to vote against the SAVE Act. The SAVE Act would bar states from registering a person to vote unless they provide documents or evidence proving U.S. citizenship. It would also require all Americans to present ID when they go to vote. The SAVE Act is supported by President Trump and strongly opposed by GOPe members of the UniParty.
WASHINGTON — Sen. Lisa Murkowski became the first Republican senator to speak out against the SAVE Act, a sweeping election bill backed by President Donald Trump that would require proof of citizenship to vote nationwide.
In doing so, the Alaskan reminded her colleagues on Tuesday that they roundly claimed to oppose new federal election laws as recently as Joe Biden’s presidency.
“When Democrats attempted to advance sweeping election reform legislation in 2021, Republicans were unanimous in opposition because it would have federalized elections, something we have long opposed,” Murkowski said in a statement. “Now, I’m seeing proposals such as the SAVE Act and MEGA that would effectively do just that. Once again, I do not support these efforts.” (read more)
Also, to drive home the point, don’t forget!👇

A Portrait of Dorian Grey
Any suggestions? Wish there were someone in CONgress we could trust. So sad to see Tim Scott and Murky in the same ad.
Maybe Fetterman?
We need a new party. MAGA only. Let the GOP go the way of the Whigs.
Except it’s the reverse.
The grotesque corruption and venality of Lisa Murkowski’s soul is on full display for all the world to see…as opposed to being reflected in a monstrous depiction hidden out of view
Stash the ‘rillos.
Just stick the whole bar of soap in my mouth.
I can’t anymore with THIS !
Yea, sometimes Grandma was pretty harsh in enforcing her rules.
How on earth is this even permitted !
How on earth is it permitted, you ask.
This Murkowski deception could be People’s Exhibit-A as to why our Federal Constitution GUARANTEES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
In our USA, regarding our political efforts, the closest thing that we have to a GUARANTEE is our American Social Contract, aka our American Covenant, as stated in The Unanimous Declaration of 4 July 1776.
In our NATION — supposedly where our GOVT, such as it is … is of, by and for the People — We The People, COLLECTIVELY, need to conduct ourselves as FREE CITIZENS, as was intended by our Founders, rather than CONTROLLED SUBJECTS.
Most critically, this means that We The People MUST exercise our PATRIOTIC DUTIES … before we can expect to be served up our RIGHTS.
As every adult knows and understands: DUTIES come before RIGHTS … and nobody, throughout the history of mankind, is granted RIGHTS before they engage in performing their DUTIES.
Sadly, it seems, not enough of We the People — read: We the LEGAL American Citizens — know, let alone embrace, such common sense notions.
Just like the rest of humanity … we shall reap what we have sown. As exceptional as many believe we are — and, yes, in ways, we are an exceptional NATION — we, as a NATION, will not be excused from this existential hurdle.
It’s not yet too late for a good, solid majority of We the People to WAKE UP.
MAGA & MAHA!
It is possible to have minimum electoral requirements without “federalizing” elections, and each State can still have even greater requirements should they so choose.
That’s a great question for SCOTUS to answer. My guess is they would rule that legislating the requirements for voting eligibility in this country is already implied but verification isn’t a step too far. Now if they would have ruled on this issue before Obama was elected that would have been better. He was never eligible to be US President unless his father was Frank Marshall Davis and then… “OK, I don’t like it but the requirements are specific and limited.”
Re “He was never eligible to be US President unless his father was Frank Marshall Davis…”
Would not matter. Stanley Ann Dunham was not little Barry’s biological mother. His real mother was one of Obama Senior’s several mistresses. He was also born in Mombasa, Kenya; which, is a another (but unnecessary) strike against him being eligible). For the record, Obama Senoir was his real father, not Davis.
In no particular order, he’s ineligible because…
Pictures don’t lie. Obama looks very much like Davis. But either way, there was documentation based cause to validate Obama’s legitimacy as candidate.
We already have the HAVA act past by congress to set minimum requirements for federal elections that we can fully enforce! They want to add to that to ensure no non/citizen register to vote!
Serious question: If CONgress refuses to verify citizenship, what’s to stop them
from soliciting mail-in ballots from Canada?
The USA is a Constitutional *Republic.* So who, exactly, is the United States purported to “represent?” China?
is not since 1871… VSGPDJT trying very hard to restore CR to full glory …….
Hey wait a minute… I’m starting to think the Republicans aren’t all on our side…
I’m reminded of other RINOs out there. They bark when called upon to bark. Who calls upon them? I wonder.
They bark when called upon to bite?
Repost from the PT
The Repugs are just unbearable….this creature is ugly enough to be a democrap. Also notice Tim Scott support of ski. One of the Sea Island crew….
Unbearable….the old …’big club and you ain’t in it’ ploy.
John Thune. You know, Turtle’s boy.
Murkowski and Susan Collins are the worst of the RINOS. I bet she poops blue.
My daughter did that in pre-school. Upon further questioning, a boy had enticed her to drink the poster paint. Thus, then the nickel x-rayed on an abdominal x-ray a couple of weeks later. At least she told me about that right away.
She does look a lot like Lisa from the Simpsons.
🤣🤣
Uniparty.
Exactly right!!!
The UniParty needs voter fraud/election rigging to protect their business model.
Dems lust for power, RINOS lust for money.
RINOS don’t care if Dems cheat to win. The RINOS are well paid for their “cooperation.”
RINOS will even throw elections, or assist in the cheating (Fulton County) if they get paid enough.
Murkowski is evil. Thoroughly corrupt. So are her fellow RINOS. The RepubliCons and the DemonCrats are two wings of the same UniParty. “Bipartisanship” means that they are willing co-conspirators in their crimes against the people.
Pray that God will deliver His righteous punishment upon each and every one of these miscreants.
The Empire/UniParty strikes back. Trump will find a way to paint her and the rest of the UniParty in a corner. Just go full Monty on em all and show the people how they all got rich off our tax dollars. Each and everyone.
They just buckled on Omar from Minnesota and her sudden wealth.
No they didn’t. They waffled.
I missed that. Where in the news is it??
I really, really dislike her and her bro/husband.
God bless the USA 🙂
Sundance posted an article, problem is I can’t remember the name. The committee that was investigating her kicked the can down to a do nothing committee. Not that any of them to anything worthwhile anyway. lol.
This is just the catastrophe du jour. Every day, in every way, the Repugs disappoint…How the hell can we support these turncoats?
PDJt has 3 years left but only if we keep majorities.
That’s how.
Not really. Less than 9 months…
I’m holding out for Secretary Scott Bessent to clear up the Somali swindle in Minneapolis, in due course. As for Save Act, it is going to be like waiting for PDJT’s recess appointments. Murkowski is just letting the Munich Uniparty travel planners know they are clear for takeoff. I trust PDJT and Bessent, that’s it.
It is far preferable to have the DOJ investigate instead of 5 minutes of each representative making speeches for their cause. That would be a competent DOJ of course.
RINO.
I sent her an email expressing my disappointment. My comment is We care about our votes being stolen. I ask why she was not interested in protecting our vote.
She is an example why Rank Choice Voting is bad.
Political Tick
That’s an insult to the tick animals! SPIT!!!!
SPIT!!!!
Alaskans need to Flood her office with bags of 🐮💩
…- – -…
They probably have more access to Moose or bear scat…
Has Tim Scott reversed his position since 2022?
Tim Scott…The Uni-party weather vane. (And the wind is usually blowing LEFT)!
This country either gets a handle on the corrupt voting system used in its “elections” or we are doomed.
The only people doomed are the ones unable to see past the those choices that are offered to them.
One can reject the false choices and find other paths.
Not in a general election.
And Sundance has already described how state GOP organizations torpedo and sabotage any primary challengers they think has a chance to upset their preferred (purchased & controlled) candidate or bought-and-paid-for incumbent. The Tea Party stands as exhibit #1 in that sad-but-true situation.
I’m implying that one might have to work outside of the corrupt system that cannot be corrected
There is a time and place for everything.
I remember when our Dutchman of fond remembrance used to hammer this point home, GB.
State GOP hierarchies are always the ones where the rot lies with their good old boy back slaps and handshakes, determining who would be the Republican nominees.
doomed to a fight. a real one.
I live in the Great State of Alaska and just hope to live long enough to PISS on this Vile C#^$s grave
I sure hope so too RD. She is the epitome of Ugliness.
Ugly inside and out
We all know that there is exactly one reason why you would not want someone to have to present identification when they go to vote. And I don’t need to say what that “one reason” is, now do I?
Nope
Let me help…
As much as I appreciate the U.S.A. your voting system is utterly ridiculous.
The U.K. where I was born, and Canada where I reside for all their failings. Their system of elections is far superior to the utter chaos, and obvious criminality in the bastion of freedom.😂
I upvoted you Deke but that only means 98.7% of your citizens are sheep, which you have told us many times.
My BIL married a Canadian gal 45 years ago. Guess where they live almost full time?
St. Maarten!
I do not disagree, Dekester.
It didn’t used to be this way. Somewhere along the line we lost our way when the quality of our power mad elected officials became corrupted. And when they discovered they could access riches beyond their imaginings.
I might also add this for friends who aren’t familiar with the transfer of power in the UK.
Results are known on the night, and the very next day if a sitting PM is defeated, he or she moves out of No 10 and the new PM takes up residence and begins governing immediately.
Here according to the Constitution there is that two plus month delay between the election and the inauguration, plenty of time for an incumbent to sabotage the incoming administration…or lay mines.
I’d call the state of elections in America third world, but even third world nations require ID and manage to tally the votes within hours.
Infuriated doesn’t adequately describe what I am feeling right now.
You’re right, it has its flaws. I guess we could always call for snap elections..oh, wait a minute!
😆
The last bastion of freedom is apparently the perfect place for commies to congregate since they are “free” to do so. It is up to we, the people, to apply Constitutional remedies when our republic is in danger.
Canada is hardly any better if their government is an accurate reflection of it’s people. While neither situation is ideal, I’d rather have stolen elections that can be corrected than voters who actually prefer socialism.
Then we’ll take Dekester and our other Canadian treeper friends and trade them for some looney awfls!
There is an important factor you have not considered. The Japanese have excellent mathematical aptitude. I’ll leave the rest to others
While useful, other countries manage to tally their national votes on the same night…and within hours of polls closing.
I dont know how old you are, and so you may not remember if younger .but there was a time when this country did the same.
No hackable machines, no voting illegally, no time delays, no burst water pipes, no lack of fear if caught committing electoral fraud, no idological judges who would happily, unethically contribute to the candidates of a certain party then “assist” with rulings which would favour them.
We are now so far from being a moral nation that it is painful to admit we are no longer that “shining city on the hill” President Reagan spoke of.
We used to have ‘bottom-up’ vote tallying.
Votes were counted at the bottom precinct level with results posted on the door. They then were transferred to the county and afterwards transferred to the Secretary of State.
I knew folks who would drive the county precincts on election night to get the votes.
Other folks would go to the courthouse as the results were tallied.
The local radio station reported results as they came in.
It was exciting.
Since the computer voting has taken over, it is now ‘top down’ reporting.
The county has to wait for the SOS to tell them what their vote tallies are. The precinct door postings are gone.
What’s wrong with this picture?
More than I can stomach.
In some voting jurisdictions, the precinct – level vote tally has been replaced by a centralized counting facility.
The method of voting and counting is not our primary problem.
“If Americans wish to preserve a country they will recognize, then the first step is to recognize the enemy. Public education is the enemy. The entertainment industry is the enemy. The corporate culture is the enemy. The advertising industry is the enemy. **And most of the politicians in both parties are the enemy.** An enemy is defined as anybody, or any organization, which is attacking the traditional beliefs of Americans.”

Well… the SAVE ACT is now dead…
https://www.cnbc.com/2026/02/10/senate-filibuster-thune-trump-save-act.html
“Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., on Tuesday dashed a push from President Donald Trump and his allies to amend the Senate filibuster rule to speed passing controversial voter-identification legislation.
The SAVE America Act, which was introduced in January, would require voters to prove their citizenship to register to vote in federal elections and would require certain forms of photo ID to cast a ballot. The measure is slated for a vote in the House this week but faces an uphill climb in the Senate where Democrats have vowed to use the filibuster to block the legislation, which they say could disenfranchise millions of Americans. Because of the filibuster rule, bills require 60 votes to advance in the Senate.
Proponents of the voter-ID legislation are calling for changes to the chamber’s rules.
“There aren’t anywhere close to the votes, not even close, to nuking the filibuster,” Thune said at a press conference following a meeting of Senate Republicans on Tuesday. “So that idea is something, although it continues to be put out there. … That doesn’t have a future.””
We don’t have a future – without it.
When Democrats take the Senate back, Thune will see how quickly they have the votes.
Yep! First thing they will do is to nuke the filibuster and go scorched earth…
Over 80% voters wanted it, I don’t think you describe that as controversial.
Then put it out for a vote so as to tar the backstabbing cockroach characters who betray.
Don’t want to say everything I really think, but if there is a second kinetic Civil War in America, this is a mile marker. Maybe not Fort Sumter, but not far short of that. If we are denied fair elections, there is only one remedy.
Lisa’s never been a leader. She’s only been a “I’ll back anything that won’t hurt my chances to be reelected” person. Don’t you understand that yet Tim? For times in which President and members of Congress are elected, a standard country-wide rule should apply. If each state wants to elect their own set of rules for state and local elections, go ahead with stupid leftist rules.
“Once again, I do not support these efforts.”
And that’s the issue…I believe Alaska voted for President Trump. Murkowski is a senator representing THE STATE of Alaska, NOT Lisa Murkowski. She SHOULD be supporting President Trump not only as the senator from Alaska but as a RepubliCON. She can’t go away quick enough.
The Hegelian Dialectic Uniparty system a “feature” of cucked Western “Democracies”.
Colkitto me and you are gonna have to go outside if you’re gonna keep posting that pic!
What a thoroughly distasteful person. The very thought of Murkowski makes my skin crawl.
This one is on Thune who also axed filibuster repeal bill.
Color me shocked.
Alaska can and should do better.
Also don’t forget that until Murkowski lost that primary it was standard practice for the NRSC to fund all GOP primary winners, but she had McConnell’s backing and so instead they went and funded her write-in campaign against the primary winner, Joe Miller, a Tea Party-backed Conservative who undoubtedly would have been a far better Senator than Murkowski ever has been. But McConnell detests actual Conservatives, which explains why he did that.
Murkowski is and always was in McConnell’s pocket and will do whatever he and the GOPe want her to do. They don’t want the SAVE Act, Voter ID, or any other meaningful election reform because they fear being replaced by actual Conservatives.
McC-Murk-Co
McConnell, Murkowski and Collins…
Kinda like the ‘Rona…it won’t go away.
This sorta stuff is going to get Governor Janet Mills elected to the Senate over Susan Collins.
Perish the thought.
Yeah, you want the gun or the knife?
One should not bring a knife to a gun fight.
If a state does not verify legal voters, I think the entire state results for federal elections should be nullified and not counted in federal elections. It is fraud pure and simple, negating the will of the citizen voter.
Please “trigger warning” any pictures of GOP hags raging against America LoL
Her (s)election in 2010 demonstrated how sophisticated the election theft racket was already, a decade before 2020.
A write-in candidate defeated the R on the ballot? An R who won by a landslide in the primary somehow only generated a handful more votes in the general listed as the Republican on the ballot, while so many Alaskans wanted Murkowski that much more to bring their own pen into the booth and write in her name?!?!
No, it wasn’t a sea of D’s who showed up and shifted from the D candidate that year to put her over the top; D numbers were consistent with prior elections.
That was the proof of concept that elections in the US are easily stolen when they have national ramifications. To make a write-in candidate prevail was an in-your-face flex of power.
Is why they changed voting in AK after, that theft took a lot of resources to pull off. The narrative needed to demonize Joe Miller to make her a *plausible* winner was too much to sustain repeat performances. All of her future opponents couldn’t be similarly demonized.
ranked choice voting
Her spirit is projected by the ugliness in her countenance.
There’s only 1 word that describes anyone who votes against the SAVE Act: Betrayal
The GOPe doesn’t have the votes to pass the SAVE act. Just ponder that for a bit. Aside from Murkowsi who’s a slime and always has been. There’s more and it will interesting to see who else. I’d guess China Mitch who basically in the shape of Biden in his last year in office. So, it’s Mitch’s staff.
I have an elephant’s memory over Tim Scott’s endorsement of Lisa Murkowski, just as surely as I remember the iconic pic of a cringing Murkowski quivering under the menacing glare of her lord and mistress, Dianne Feinstein!
Real elephants don’t get along with RINOs who pretend to be elephants…but we all know what kind of animal he is!
That gaping mouth!
The only one that’s worse is jihadi Rashida. That thing is big enough to drive a truck through it.
She has the face of a Common Carp
Aren’t carp primarily bottom feeders?
Yup, thats why they have the downward facing hideous mouth, just like Lisa.
Had to throw that last tweet in there, eh lol? Vomit.
Identify the GOPe candidates and PRIMARY them, each and every election.
Never stop.
Rand Paul approves of this message.
I’ve seen pictures of great white sharks attacking seals with a more attractive smile on their faces.
🤣🤣
Does President Trump have anything on her, surely she’s rolled in swamp scum a long time?
Maybe he’s ahead of this with the national election idea??
So obvious we can’t rely on states to conduct fair elections.
Why is it that the Democrats don’t have their version of Murkowski, Collins, McConnell and Tillis.
Correct….they are very good at circling the wagons; while the Repugnants form up a circle fiting squad. The whole damn thing is a Kabuki dance. Getting sick of it. Same shit different day.
Murkowski’s vote is offset by Fetterman’s likely vote in favor. And if Collins, Tillis, and O’Connell vote no, then VP Vance will break the tie, but only if Thune ops for a standing filibuster. Let’s get it done.
I like your optimism Ron but I’m fresh out here.
Murkowski needs to take a look at a sensible statement by John Fetterman who sees no problem with voter ID.
While I detest her .. at least Murkowski is being honest as she will vote against the Save Act as she says.
Fetterman is the New Joe Manchin (ex-D, WVa) … say the right stuff in public but votes party line when it counts. He votes as ordered and will be allowed to vote YES only if defeat of the Save Act is assured … just to show that some democrats are really moderates.
She needs to look in the mirror and watch it crack!🤣Ugh
Just a reminder … we watched the evolution of the 2021 Election Reform Act debates here on CTH, which resulted in the rubber stamp Voting Reform Act of 2022, which gutted the ability to question election results by Congress and the VP as President of the Senate.
The Democrats in 2021 Proposed legislation that WAS opposed by the Republicans. Ironically major items opposed included:
NO Voter ID Required to vote.
Wide open remote voting to include INTERNET Voting.
Establishment of Truth Boards to assess Campaign Messaging and sanctioning of Campaigns that did not comply with Truth as defined by Congress.
Bottom line … Murkowski is lying … and in spectacular fashion. The Republicans did finally support the Voting Reform Act of 2022 .. which resulted from the proposed Act in 2021. What is ironic is that the provisions the republicans opposed in 2021 were 180 degrees out from those in the current Save Act .. which the Republicans wanted to be included in the Reform Act of 2022 but “compromised” by removing their demands.
Another useless teat on a boar hog! What a Charmin! C’mon Alaska, you can do better than this garbage!
Tim Scott made a big production and married a White woman a while back –is he positioning to be VP for Rhonda Santis?
Alaskans! Call and mail and email and continue to flood this rougue Senator’s office in a massive show of supporting the SAVE Act and make sure she knows if she does not represent you she will never again represent you! Freedom
Sen. Tim says “Ouch!”
When was the last time she voted with Republicans, exactly?
Nice to have the mask off , Tim.
What is so infuriating about Murkowski’s position is that federal law created a large part of the problem. Under federal law, no proof of citizenship may be required. Additionally, the Supreme Court has held that states may not impose a documentation requirement. So the only fix has to come from federal law, not state law.
