Birth right citizenship means if you were born on US soil you are a citizen. Been this was for decades or more. Was recently argued at Supreme Court and ruling is pending. DOJ argued it should based upon your parents as you state.

The context of “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” is not about being held to the laws of the land.
It is about to whom that person owes their loyalty. ie, The US, or some other country.
Pretty clear from reading the writings of the time. If you want to interpret that as subject to the laws, that clause would be superfluous, and we know from previous rulings that there are no superfluous clauses in the Constitution.

The particular jurisdiction referenced is to allegiances, ie to which nation you are a citizen or subject of. Naturalization supposes that the individual is changing their sole allegiance to America and not to remain tied to whence they came from.
Jurisdiction of law is different. It based on location and is enforced accordingly. An individual can be subject to our laws simply by being in our lands and not be able to exercise the same rights that are afforded to those with citizenship.

Going after them with ICE & Border Patrol isn’t going to cut it for all of them. What needs to be done is to go after companies that employ them. For each illegal alien found, fine the company $100,000 and the illegal aliens are deported. If there are more than say five illegal aliens, then prosecute the people who hired them.
If the illegal alien has a CDL and is driving a truck, the truck & contents are seized. Plus, the company is still fined. More than a few illegal aliens and the company has its USDOT number revoked. The owner and company cannot apply for a new one for five years, maybe never again.
In addition to the illegal alien fine for the companies, investigation & audits into the working conditions for those illegal aliens, if the companies violated OSHA or other labor laws. Plus have to look into the company’s IRS filings and how the illegal aliens were paid.
That also applies to state, county, and local governments- if they’re giving out “aid” to illegal aliens, drivers licenses (CDL or regular), etc & so on. Gov’t probably won’t be fined, since that’s just fining the taxpayer, but could fire & arrest the employees that provided money or services.
A lot can be done without having to round up the illegal aliens. If there’s no employment here, they probably aren’t coming here. If the come here for crime, then the cops should be able to handle them along with the feds.

My theory is that taking that action would jeopardize two key Trump administration objectives: 2% inflation and 5% GDP growth along with all the good those two things bring to the country.
I think that is short term thinking, and their calculus is that a booming economy will carry more weight and votes than mass deportations.

To charge any federal felony requires a grand jury indictment. The problem in any city is most grand jurors will be registered Democrat voters who are hesitant to to indict their fellow Democrats regardless of the Law, facts and evidence

If I were a Catholic priest and this happened in my church, I would get out the bucket of Holy Water and the aspergillum and spray the welcoming congregation and the “protesters” with the Holy Water.
