Well, this is what happens when the far left takes power, even on a municipal level.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has appointed Cea Weaver as the Director of the City Office to Protect Tenants. Presumably, a position intended to stand behind the rights of housing tenants against the property owner. However, Ms. Weaver has some remarkable views on private property and home ownership.
In this video clip below you will notice Ms. Weaver outline how homeowners will need to modify their view on their property ownership to reflect a new municipal perspective that considers all individually owned property to be part of a new collective property viewpoint as controlled by city government.

“We’ll transition from treating property as an individual good to a collective good. Whites especially will be impacted.” pic.twitter.com/RZSdCs8oEa

“For centuries we really treated property as an individualized good and not a collective good, in transitioning into treating it as a collective good and towards the model of shared equity … it will mean that families, especially White families … are going to have a different relationship to property than the one that we currently have.”
It is likely that Mayor Mamdani and Director Weaver are going to run into some stiff legal opposition as they try to reimagine a world where individuals are not allowed to own property.
NEW YORK – Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s newly appointed tenant advocate called to “seize private property” and blasted home ownership as a “weapon of white supremacy” in a series of pro-communist social media posts.
Cea Weaver, Mamdani’s new director of the city Office to Protect Tenants, made the statements and urged her followers to elect more communists in several lecturing posts on her now-deleted X account that were unearthed by internet sleuths.
“Seize private property!” she said on June 13, 2018. She later doubled down on that in a mini-manifesto on August 2019.
“Private property including any kind of ESPECIALLY homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy,” she said then.
Weaver, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America and former campaign coordinator for Housing Justice For All, also served as an adviser to the Mamdani campaign in 2025.
The Post featured her as part of a group of young lefty progressives in Mamdani’s brain trust.
She was a key player in lobbying the Democratic-run state Legislature to tighten the city’s rent stabilization laws in 2019, making them more pro-tenant.
One major property owner said Mamdani and Weaver are misguided. (read more)

Voting in the midterm elections this year is not optional.
We cannot permit the communist ideology to permeate our nation, erode fundamental rights that establish liberty, destroy individual rights in favor of collective rights, or maintain ideas that mobs of left-wing assemblies should determine your free and independent life choices.
This is not an ordinary election cycle, where debating whether or not your granular special interest is being dutifully attended holds merit. This is an election cycle that will determine whether the direction of this nation is toward individual rights and self-determination of abundance, or whether everyone is forced to cross the finish line of scarcity at the same exact moment.
To even begin to discuss the confiscation of individual property in favor of collective distribution is alarming stuff.
So many of us tried to warn about this when Senator Barack Obama was running for office on a platform of fundamental change to the American system toward communism. Here we are two decades later, now dealing with the consequences of those who refused to believe it.
Occupy Wall Street, 2011 march

It is likely that Mayor Mamdani and Director Weaver are going to run into some stiff legal opposition…
Who will the Obama and Biden appointed judges side with?
Especially the ones with dual citizenship in some third world s__thole.
Let’s start with seizing Mayor Mamdani and Director Weaver’s private property FIRST … including mommy & daddy’s & ALL relative and in-law properties … you know … “collectivism” … setting an example for the people.
Problem there is he does not own the property he resides in nor does he pay rent .. he is US taxpayer subsidized
Does Cea Owen property?
Certainly some sort of property, after all, “you will own nothing” seems to be their view, so show us how her way works by giving it all away.
No, but her father Stewart Weaver, of Rochester NY owns a single-family home in Rochester and “manages an additional rental property with a family member.” https://therealdeal.com/new-york/2023/03/31/many-landlords-who-signed-letter-backing-good-cause-would-be-exempt-from-it/
She seems to be a pampered little lefty brat with daddy issues. She has expensive private-school degrees from Bryn Mawr and NYU in “urban planning.” So of course she is now a communist. https://www.financialexpress.com/world-news/us-news/who-is-cea-weaver-zohran-mamdanis-tenant-advisor-at-the-center-of-white-supremacy-tweet-controversy/4098096/
https://notthebee.com/article/mamdanis-tenet-advocate-called-to-seize-private-property/
They will side with their property owning interests.
You can always tell a Lefty, but you can’t tell them much!
The issues does NOT relate to who the judges side with, BUT whether
those things being done are legal or illegal. So, the oppressed side needs
to present RIGHTS ISSUES, and VIOLATIONS BEING PERPETRATED under
color of law. Lawyer up and bring defense before the courts!
“… BUT whether those things being done are legal or illegal”
And who decides if it’s legal or illegal? Guess what, the judges.
“A wise and frugal government … shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.”
— Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1801
The XIIIth Amendment already violates this, in spades.
Amendment XIII abolished slavery and servitude except as punishment for a crime.
Surely you mean Amendment XVI which provided for the income tax?
“shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned”
Amen
Education on the importance of private property rights in our school systems from the first year to the last year has been an absolute ZERO!!!!! The absolute basis of freedom is found in property rights, not “free speech” or any other so-called freedom. Property rights is the foundation of freedom. You own your speech, your writing, your thoughts, your life, and the things you purchase or create from your own money or labor, including your guns and your home. Lose that, and you lose everything. Anything you get from the government is temporary, and makes us a slave and a tenant! As Hoffer said so astutely, “under the capitalist system, our system, there are many markets and stores. Under Communism, there is only one store”, and the government owns it!
“Just as man can’t exist without his body, so no rights can exist without the right to translate one’s rights into reality, to think, to work and keep the results, which means: the right of property.”
Ayn Rand
“As a man is said to have a right to his property, he may be equally said to have a property in his rights. Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. No man is safe in his opinions, his person, his faculties, or his possessions.”
James Madison
The lawsuits against this communist takeover are writing themselves. Those leftist morons in NY are fairly lucky they have a captive audience inside NYC. Bring that communist BS out to the rural areas and see what happens when property owners don’t wait for the long drawn out legal process to defend their property rights and a systematic armed resistance rises. Hopefully that little commie worm or someone like him comes for my property personally
Undoubly, they will run into huge legal and constitutional issues.
Mamdani is pissing on our leg and calling it “the warmth of collectivism”.
“The warmth of collectivism” = euphemism for political redistribution.
The law be damned in this system.
Euphemism for theft under the supportive gun of government.
We will own nothing and be happy.
Or suffer the consequences.
The beatings will continue until morale improves!
and we’re allowing this garbage.
In a separate announcement yesterday…
Mamdani raised the fare on his free buses 🙂
The free buses will be in the shop for repairs. The free routes will be in perpetual planning.
Fifth Amendment to the Constitution:
No person… shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
Private property – taken for public use.
That concept is the problem.
F(ornicate) that noise!
That, and the entity doing the taking gets to decide what just compensation is.
Thank goodness they cannot deprive us of our life, liberty, or property without “due process of law” (Ask some of the Jan. 6 protesters how that worked for them.)
But at least our private property cannot be taken for public use without just compensation. (Ask the victims of “eminent domain” about that one.)
Or ask those who were victims of civil asset forfeitures
A plague on our justice system! I remember in early 90s when conservatives joined forces with the ACLU to fight this gross theft of property, and then the ACLU got bought off.
My husband’s dad almost went bonkers when the city of St. Paul took his property to put an old folks high-rise up.
They gave him pennies on the dollar for what it was worth. . .
Sorry to hear it. It’s a pity that such a beautiful state now so completely sucks because it’s gone hard left. May they be forced to live in the squalor they’re creating for others.
OMG, how awful!
Need a review of Kelo, badly!
Let me guess: judging by her age and demeanor, she will never work long and hard enough to PAY for a property that a municipality will tax her into the poor house.
It’s going to come to more than legal action and voting to stop this.
Had to stop after two seconds. Why do they all talk like that?
“Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun” – Mao Zedong
Which is why the first goal of these cretins is to try and disarm us.
Fool Around and Find Out!
First observation:Why do they ALWAYS look the same, especially the sneering grin that never quite reaches the blank-shark-like eyes?
Second: they know this proposal will get nowhere, it’s chum for the cultists, but it also allows them to the portray the coming legal fight as a class struggle, without having to have made any real progress. Expect more of these policies which are not designed to succeed, but fail without recrimination, because their boldness meant they were unlikely to succeed.
Interestingly, this behaviour is well know to psychologists and is a classic result of, either over-promotion, or deep insecurity as to your capabilities and an inability to accept responsibility for the consequences of your actions. Perfect qualities to run a massive city with a hundred billion plus budget!
The Fifth Amendment puts a full-stop on this idea, but right now this very young radical man is still running on pent-up election steam. As I said earlier, just wait a little while for him to realize what his powers actually are – and, are not.
Radicals listen only to radicals, and never listen to reason. Everybody else is just unenlightened, and waiting to be swept away by the radical revolution, which is sure to come and sure to be easy. But, it’s a long way from that kind of talk, to actually accomplishing the task of being Mayor of New York City. He doesn’t know that. Yet.
He will very soon find out that the Mayor’s Office has lots of responsibilities but very little power. He will have to learn how to lead by persuasion, and that is not going to be an easy thing for him to accept.
“… especially white families … “
🤬🤬
Says a stupid white he/she/it/they/whatever.
The joke’s on you. See………she may, or may not, “identify” as white…….
Sounds like a Federal Civil Rights indictment is appropriate. Or, one of those ‘under the color of law’ indictments.
Blondi, wake you sorry ass up.
The smell of Hoppes #9 is in the air… coming soon, cordite and hemoglobin.
Just white supremacists can build property? The first thing about building property is having a job! No job; no anything folks! Next is savings. Gotta have the ability to tell yourself NO, you don’t need certain treats, smokes, booze or ho’s! NO! If one is gonna build, you need to know how to measure, saw, hammer, screw, staple and nail! No skills make you useless as a worm! I’ve seen plenty of good black, brown, tan and yellow tradesman and builders in my day and I’m calling BULLSHIT on this.
These Communists hate whites and having responsibility for themselves. Their mouths spewing blame and hate their only skill.
Yes, indeed!
This rhetoric is aimed at deterring non whites from trying to buy real estate.
Probably everyone knows that the idea of the local government seizing personal private property is Classic Communism. Total State Control. That is exactly what the Democrat Party has been working for, for decades.
Back in the U.S.S.R.
Get it all out there commies – the sooner the better! Anyone with an iota of brain recognizes this slug is a dumpster fire! However, keep it up so the
dummiesbrainless that voted for you will get to see it too!I Guess PT’s towers are up for grabs?
Pull a Francisco d’Anconia and drop them leaving only rubble. They aren’t builders, only greedy destroyers!
I am increasingly getting the uneasy feeling that solving our communist/socialist/equity/moonbat issues won’t be done from the ballot box. How many top five American cities are under socialist/communist administrations? They are in our universities, judicial institutions and main stream media. I believe we are quickly coming to the point of resolution ‘by any means necessary’.
There are three boxes of redress: the soap box, the ballot box, and the ammo box.
Free speech has all but been cancelled….
Free and fair elections are a joke….
Guess that leaves….
“The theory of the Communists may be summed up in a single sentence: abolition of private property.” ~ Karl Marx
Clearly, Mamdani is a godless, evil, card-carrying Marxist communist!
Never forget that Marx wrote love poems to Satan, who obviously inspired his so-called philosophy.
It’s not black versus white, rich versus poor, left versus right; we are in a battle of good versus evil friends, prepare accordingly.
Marx had a favorite quote; Everything that exists deserves to be destroyed.
I believe he was possessed.
“The theory of the Communists may be summed up in a single sentence:” use force to steal other people’s property.
Marxists gonna be Marxist, but it shows how ignorant many voters are that residents of NYC would elect people saying these kind of things. Property rights were considered so fundamental to a prosperous society that the founding fathers considered putting “property” instead of “pursuit of happiness” (and maybe should have) in the Declaration of Independence. If a local public official said something like this, I’d be working to recall them; hopefully the courts hold back most of the nonsense in NYC, but I wouldn’t remotely bank on that.
On the midterms, it’s very true that we need to attack those with at least as much vigor as ’24, and that needs to start now. The primaries are what really matters in the majority of districts, but time and again people don’t pay attention until October, long after the uniparty candidate has won the nomination of the dominant wing (R or D). It’s an uphill battle, and unfortunately, most lizards will get their ticket back to the swamp punched, but just swinging 10% of seats away from the uniparty(R) and to a real conservative candidate would make a big difference.
“On its world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people.”
“Odd,” said Arthur. “I thought you said it was a democracy.”
“I did,” said Ford. “It is.”
“So,” said Arthur, hoping he wasn’t sounding ridiculously obtuse, “why don’t the people get rid of the lizards?”
“It honestly doesn’t occur to them,” said Ford. “They’ve all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they voted in more or less approximates to the government they want.”
“You mean they actually vote for the lizards?”
“Oh yes,” said Ford with a shrug, “of course.”
“But,” said Arthur, going in for the big one again, “why?”
“Because if they didn’t vote for a lizard,” said Ford, “the wrong lizard might get in.”
Personally, I think she should be allowed to confiscate the private property of New Yorkers. New Yorkers overwhelmingly voted for this, they should get it good and hard. People will continue to vote hard left until they are forced to face the idiocy of their political choices.
First they came for New Yorkers but I didn’t do anything since I didn’t live in New York….
Then they came for………..
Why isn’t private equity and the banking industry voicing objection? Their silence is deafening.
They devested from NYC ahead of the curve to the extent they are able and plan to get rich putting it back together just like they do in the war zones they create.
Hear, hear!! Follow Sundance’s wise words.
Do not allow Deep State-sponsored fake fracturers of the right – you know, the diseased crooks who promote Sharia as “true conservatism” or claim Venezuela’s poverty is to be welcome as long as pornography is also forbidden, you know, the toxic wenches who attacked the widow of an assassinated hero while his slain body was barely cool – do not allow the traitors and the embedded agents to poison your minds.
Trust President Trump and his vision for America. He is a real unifier of patriots, as opposed to Qatari-Deep State-Demokrat-Loopy stooges.
Do not skip voting this year! Do what you can now to have real MAGA candidates to vote for, not RINOs, but in November vote GOP no matter what.
The Communist Kooks are getting bolder. Can’t hardly wait for the day when these failures are run out of town on a rail…
They were saying Maduro was surprised that he had “rights” under our legal system. He had no idea that he would be presumed innocent and allowed a defense. as the legal proceeding was translated to him.
Perhaps the new mayor is equally ignorant of private property rights and the limits of government to impose its will on the people.
A new concept to this new immigrant.
No such thing as democratic socialist .. regardless it’s the new buzz word to describe old fashioned communism.. looks like the dual citizenship with foreign nationality commitments have taken over the city.. so who is next ..? I would burn my house down before I would allow this trash to take it.. I worked hard and earned every penny to pay for my home without help from anyone at any time therefore it is my right to treat my purchased property as I see fit.
Well, under her idea of property, that little cubical she survives in, is mine, I claim it, under the collectivist domain of ownership for all by all.
Now get out its mine, you stupid commie.
Doing away with property rights is like doing away with borders. NYC is full of fouls.
She does not sound intelligent.
It’s probably ilk like this who encouraged the “squatter” problem to get out of hand.
No one ‘owns’ their property, because of property taxes… they ‘Rent’ it!
Yeah, Liberalism/Leftism/socialism is a disease in the head! I wonder why they didn’t go for the guns first!
According to Art.17 of the Universal Declaration of Huma Rights
Does Cea Weaver live communally or does she have a private residence?
Trump properties on list?
“It is likely that Mayor Mamdani and Director Weaver are going to run into some stiff legal opposition as they try to reimagine a world where individuals are not allowed to own property.”
I’m thinking banks and mortgage companies might have a few things to say about these new policies too.
Rule Number One: Follow the Money!
I daresay that all of them know that they can simply, “wait it out.” This man is still very much “wet behind the ears.” He has not a fraction of the actual power that he thinks he does, and he doesn’t know that yet.
I happen to know of a guy who’s up to speed on all the nuances of the NYC real estate market. He’s pretty busy right now, but might be available for some consultation work in a few years………………….
Where are all the self-appointed stalwarts of American values, so finely attuned to any hint of foreign influence? Tucker? MTG? Poso? I hear no righteous indignation from them about all this Islamo-Marxist stuff, including Mamdani’s most recent attack on one of the core American virtues — rugged individualism.
Our President went full Bueller on Mamdani. He is busy liberating our neighbors from the Marxist scourge.
I guess what I’m getting at is the cavalry isn’t coming. We are on our own.
They not only refused to believe it, the leftists ran towards it with open arms, fully embracing communism.
As long as idiots get free stuff, they’ll vote for it, never realizing what the totality of their votes will one day bring.
Good News: “Hundreds of millions of Actual Americans did pay attention in World History class.
Are those Americans the ones that the youngens who know nothing want to get rid of now ’cause they’re old?
Y’all probably have a local tenant union or group on your radar but if not it might be time to check out what they are up to.
That woman is an enemy.
Somebody should buy her a mirror.
Pray for New York.
So a white, colorless (presumed odorless) lass who shaves her eyebrows is in charge of asset seizure?
Does anyone other than me think this may not go well?
“…………(presumed odorless) lass ………..”
You do know what a litter box smells like, don’t you?
So…President Trump is the problem?
“So…President Trump is the problem?”
To a select group of Americans, and others, fortunately, yes.
I bet non white homeowners in NYC will be shocked that they have been special weapons of white supremacy and will be ready to sell to the city.
BTW When the city owns your apartment it is not covered by rent control or other laws regulating landlords. Think about it.
I’ve a relative in the EU. His city raised property taxes so high most working people could not afford them. The city “graciously” implemented a program where they would buy the land under the house and lease it back, leaving the homeowner just enough money to pay the taxes on the structure.
Here in the US, it is less obvious but just as serious. Over the last decades a matrix of mortgage regulations, insurance regulations, environmental regulations, city/county taxation and property appraisal schemes can easily accomplish the same. Just throw in a sprinkle of inflation.
Home rule states once represented the idea of self-governance – now they represent choking it off wherever it may emerge.
NY is a home rule state so cities get to do pretty much what they want. NYC is so big it would not even matter if it were in a Dillon rule state. Federal regulatory taking is the norm in America – systemic and widespread, so the taking of private property is now actually consistent with federal law/policy.
Marxists infect first, the cites. Agenda 2030/2050 has two overarching objectives. Eliminate private property ownership and depopulation. Property rights are systematically being eroded in America through regulations and zoning. Local property taxation ensures a slow death. It has woven itself throughout our governments.
Cities are corporate entities with little constraint by States. Moving to the county, off city water and sewer is a foothold at least.
“Federal regulatory taking is the norm in America –”
Afraid it’s going to be Standard Operating Procedure in Marxist infected areas, especially after the Supreme Court’s Kelo v. City of New London case.
