And if they are un-American, what weight should we give to their ridiculous views? And I don’t care where they’re from, what they look like, or what religious views they claim. These attacks against our foundational rights as a free people, created in the image of God, are un-American and against everything our founders fought for.
One of the great things about living in a free country is that no one is obligated to be here. Just ask Rosie, who’s now inflicted herself on Ireland, the last I took note. Those who find the Constitution and its freedoms so “stifling” to bear are free to move to Europe, for one, where such creeping totalitarian notions will garner invites to all the best soirees. They also, if they are not American, are not obligated to come here, so why do they exercise themselves about our freedoms? There are many Israelis who hold dual citizenship with the US.

The message Mamdani sent on day one is loud and clear. Synagogues don’t need extra security. Jewish worshippers don’t deserve safe spaces. The globally accepted definition of antisemitism doesn’t matter. City resources can be used to target Israel. This is a betrayal of the city’s Jewish community and a green light to those who would harass, intimidate, or worse.
New York City has long been home to one of the largest Jewish populations in the world. Under Mamdani, that community just got the message we expected they’d get with a Mamdani victory: they’re on their own.
