Sadly I think ICE is not accomplishing much compared to the size of the problem. Ice has removed maybe 500,000 illegals in 2025 and maybe 2 milllion self deported but the number still here in our country is estimated to be around 16 million or more. ???Some reports toss around numbers of 40 million illegals still in our country???. If the blue cities had not declared themselves as “sanctuaries” and, instead, taken care of the problem themselves, there would be no need for federal intervention. They have no one to blame but themselves.

Assimilation consistent with the Constitution is necessary. All American English only in schools. Other languages must only be taught in separate courses as a ‘foreign language’. English taught to those who need it.

People need help. But they don’t need help to send money abroad. If any immigrant is legally receiving ANY government assistance, it should be illegal to send ANY money “home” out of this country. And shouldn’t this be the case for anyone in the US? If you are receiving government assistance, shouldn’t it be illegal to send any remittance-type money out of the country?
And perhaps such foreign ‘remittances’ from those in the US not on welfare, should be taxed?
33% tax and fees on remittances is not unreasonable in this time of executive declared illegal immigration “emergency.”
33% might help address:
1) recoup unpaid income and sales tax that are often avoided by under the table acquisition of said remittance funds.
2)Recoup and compensate costs to immigrant programs such as CBP, iCE, DHS, TSA.
3) recoup and compensate scammed money from welfare, ss, housing, unemployment, health care, stress on LEO and penal system etc
4) discourage economic migration.
These are costs that should come out of foreigners pockets, they should pay us for their costs before sending money out of the country.
