President Trump noted he had not yet heard from the emissary duo, as he is spending time with media, answering questions and being the most transparent administration in history [Video Here].
In the contextual background, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov and Special Presidential Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Kirill Dmitriev spent time walking through Moscow center city with Trump Emissaries Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. This is before the meeting with Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin.
This move is typical Putin. It’s not a negative per se’, but rather an emphatic narrative contrast intended to draw attention to a Russian/American dichotomy.
This optical presentation was likely coordinated via Yury Ushakov and Steve Witkoff. The optical message is psychological targeting; the city of Moscow -structural order, cleanliness, visual and representative Christmas holiday festival spirit- contrast and compared to the city of Washington DC, chaos, conflict and lack of social cohesion.
Traditional American intelligence review would be angered by what would be deemed psy-op manipulation; however, the reality of the situation doesn’t diminish just because the intent is to emphasize the contrast.
In reality, the Russian system of social cohesion generates these visible outcomes, and yes, there is an authoritarian mechanism that mandates the mechanics of what is inherently visible. The debate, which never takes place, regards the overall outcome, the value in the experience as contrast against the two systems.
Yes, despite our unwillingness to admit benefit, there is value in government setting social rules, enforcing cultural compliance standards, demanding self-respect, patriotism and the lack of visible vulgarity. Yes, if govt enforces a rules-based order, it will be naturally oppressive to those who are non-compliant – perhaps to those who prefer vulgarity. However, it is not as simple as dismissing the value when contrast against the outcomes.
THE UNSPOKEN MESSAGE: President Trump has to put national guard troops on the ground in Washington DC to retain lawful order, to control the thugs and enhance the safety and security (domestic tranquility) of the region. President Putin does not need to put the Russian army on the streets to control the thugs or generate the same outcome; Putin’s effort has a cultural outcome.
As the ‘West’ continues to destroy itself (Russian perspective), its culture, its moral decency – and by extension its identity – the position of Russia is to keep out these vulgar influences that devalue the national sense of self-respect.
From the position of the Russian standard, social indecency is not going to be permitted, and if it takes oppressive govt control mechanisms to enforce national cultural standards, if it takes govt to mandate self-discipline, then so be it.
That’s the larger message from Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin, and it is a cold, unwavering and deliberate approach that appears hard, callous and dictatorial to the ‘West’, because in many ways, it is exactly that.

Ushakov is to Witkoff as Dmitriev is to Kushner. However, I will say very directly -and this might not please a lot of Trump critics- that Jared Kushner is the key influence agent in this negotiation.
Despite what people might criticize him for, Mr. Jared Kushner has a remarkable level of self-discipline and an emotionless face that would immediately earn the respect of any Russian opposition. When you know how Russians think about strength, you realize the mental component is their focus. When the Russian delegation looks upon Kushner, they see self-control, strength, limited words and ultimately that translates to power.
If there is a hard 10% needed to get to the finish line of negotiations, it will be Kushner who penetrates that difficult part. If Ukraine is to achieve an outcome that leaves them with self-respect in the final product, it will be Jared Kushner who delivers that for them.
Additionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin is happy, because he is in a strong position having just won control of the city of Pokrovsk in Ukraine (Donbas region), saying the now-secured area is a key base for Moscow’s ongoing military advance. Ukrainian resistance is falling, as the stronghold for the best units of the Ukraine military has now collapsed.

Yes, the ethnic Russian Ukrainians in Donbas are ‘home’, where their own government had been launching missiles at them previously. IMO, the Russian interpreter doesn’t even have a Russian accent. Sounds like he’s straight out of the US Embassy in Moscow. Of course, Putin speaks English and would know if the translation was inaccurate. The translated statements/words were very basic words, hard to mistranslate. If my thoughts are in any way accurate, it speaks volumes about Putin’s relationship/trust with Witkoff-Kushner-Trump team.

I have always liked and supported him because he’s a very solid introvert (who can extrovert when he wants to), which is also my personality type also. I get Kuchner. It takes one (introvert) to know one (introvert).
He’s opposite type than Witkoff, who’s more extroverted, but also somewhat introverted. My point is that the Trump team has all aspects covered. It’s an analogy.
Besides ending the war, the Russians also want to forge business deals and trade with us. They showed this by all the Russian business people who came to Alaska.
Also in the 28 points was emphasis on rebuilding Ukraine to become prosperous, which has different considerations than stopping the war.

This dichotomy took me back to the 50’s and 60’s growing up. There was an order of peace and law in the US. A person sleeping on a park bench in the evening would be rousted and either sent on their way or sent to the drunk tank. Beat cops walked the streets.
Kids walked to school and at a certain age were told to watch out for the littler ones. We would tell them to wait to cross the street until we got there. Grade school kids were crossing guards. Hold that flag at 45°. Cars stopped. A lot of responsibility was handed down early on.
We were taught to be polite, be courteous, be helpful. Holding doors for others was followed by thank you from those who passed.

I was a crossing guard in 5th grade (1974 – 75) at the intersection down the block from my house. I wore a vinyl hunting orange Sam Browne belt with a AAA School Safety Patrol badge affixed to it (similar to the one pictured below and yes, there were ranks). We did not use flags back then, we had to stand in the middle of the street with our arms held out at a 45° angle.
I had that badge in the first grade. I had a school picture taken of me with that badge on. I remember being proud of that because my brother thought it was cool. He was in kindergarten.
And kids were taught manners while in restaurants and not run wild like crazy banshees in public spaces!

Not all women needed to participate. The shift (on a global scale) resulted in marriage breakups and fatherlessness. More women suffered loneliness. Negative outcomes of all sorts for children.
Feminism activists may argue that the goal of feminism is not to destroy family, but to transform family by challenging patriarchal norms which historically subordinated women, restricting their autonomy. Their spiel emphasizes that feminism sought to expand (choices) for women – main emphasis on the right to work and parenting responsibilities shared more equitably between partners. Well and good but the main narrative that this movement promoted was that maternal presence can be substituted without consequence, leading to women returning to work prematurely and children being left in daycare or the care of strangers, has damaged children over the past three generations.
Biblical teachings for family responsibilities outlines distinct, yet complementary roles for husbands, wives, parents, and children, all grounded in love, submission, and mutual respect. By taking God out of what was advocated, the attack was on women and hence the entire family. It is clear divorces that were happening increased; allowed in countries where cultural and religious norms were broken. Divorce became something that is no more a shame. Women who chose not to get married were cohabiting with men “living together”

I continue to disagree when you describe Russian society as “hard, callous, and dictatorial.” They are, simply, a very different country, with ancient history that doesn’t align with ours – at all. There was a video some years back in which Putin was dressing down or rather facing a man who’d done something wrong.
