Rarely do I get a response from e-mails, and phone calls go to voice mail 75% of the time. When I do talk to a person, it is a youngster interning and doesn’t know shit from shinola. I have twice taken time off from work to go to a coffee clatch meeting advertised by my congress-fool. He was a no show both times, his fill in was some slob from his office who couldn’t even tie his own tie decently.

I am very active in my state, district and county Republican committee and attendance at monthly meetings is way down across the state. Best way is to go along for what’s best for all their peers in their small hive in DC. Keep themselves fairly neutral and out of sight for the most part. Do what’s necessary to keep their cushy positions and still try to show the home folks they are working hard for them, lots of promises and fancy words sent back home while in reality doing what’s good for themselves first. No big moves or necessary actions and some hard choices to keep America strong and free.
It’s so apparent that these elected officials really don’t want to do anything to upset their own little world of greed, funded by tax payer dollars and sweet side deals from outside sources..
Power and money are where it’s at. Bunch of fake patriots inhabit all levels of our govt systems. There are some honest and hardworking among them, but for the most part, especially at the federal level, it’s all about what they can grab for themselves. That’s why they are so anti Trump in so many cases and won’t put his policies into permanent law. Imo.
The big ugly is probably closer than we all realize.

It’s actually pleasant to see the written truth of all things political. It reminds me of all the past history books about how the citizens believed that their governments, whatever ever form it was, was honest until it wasn’t. I can’t and will not argue with history believing that somehow things are different. Governments throughout history care only for their own survival, not yours or mine.
Every empire before us has collapsed due to fiscal mismanagement but somehow most people believe America is different. But, if Hopium was actually a drug I could sell, I’d own the universe. Reality however is much scarier than fiction. Our entire system is and has always been, cyclical. I understand the game after years of studying it and therefore, I profit from it whether I like the system or not, I just play the hand I’m dealt.

The good news is that when AI takes over the first targets will be Congress and all the political leaders across the globe.

Stefanik’s comment, especially when paired with Secretary Noem’s response to immigration, might be the necessary motivator MAGA/America First advancement needs.
It was both a feature and a bug that the constitution was written with a high-trust, highly-churched population in mind. Now that we are no longer that, the rules, checks and filters are woefully inadequate for the current trash voters.
When the bonds of trust are gone and the personal sense of godly accountability runs out, the US expires, there’s no other framework to keep it together.
Election reform is a last chance at keeping us alive for a few more years. This is a prime example of how our trust-based government is now gone. We know we’re being defeated by an enemy in the camp, the democrats, and now we must watch their every move until they’re hopefully abolished.

I knew a former congressman well from our district. He was two different personalities between the campaign trail and his personal beliefs. I had my suspicions prior to 2016, but my eyes were really opened about him during the first impeachment, and what he said to me. I’m sure that’s no surprise to those here, but it works with the majority of the voting public, and I have little hope that will ever change. And I am in a very solidly red district, albeit in a purple state.
Tucker on Shawn Ryan’s podcast said it best a few days ago, what exactly happens when the government literally DEVALUES your currency to ZERO and your vote no longer matters ? The ones who wish to be left alone, and have 400mm guns? That wasn’t hyperbole, and the Palantir surveillance state is well underway, just look WHO you cannot criticize and you’ll know we’ve been captured…….The marionette strings are highly visible.
I honestly am not sure what the “Big Ugly” will look like…I think we all realize we cannot vote our way out of this. We continue to vote in “MAGA” representatives…Literally as soon as they walk into the Swamp they are “B” or “B”d… Bribed or Blackmailed. This has been going on for YEARS…the very best reps gets voted in then “turn” very quickly. I saw this with my own Anna Paulina Luna. Took maybe 6 months, she was toast….it is a never never ending cycle. All I see now is people actually recognizing it…the dismay and feelings of helplessness is palpable.
I really feel the only answer would be to force some type of Constitutional Convention and literally change the Constitution in 2 critical ways: TERM LIMITS for ALL Senators and REPs and permanently ban ANY and ALL lobbyists…this is the only way we can get back to true, legit representatives of the people that our Founding Father’s created. Right now we pretty much elect cartel members to rob the American people….I see no other way out of this circle jerk of endless abuse of the American people that will befall our Republic…

Johnson has been a reluctant partner for Trump and MAGA. He has done little to codify or enact legislation to support Trump’s executive orders. The 2026 midterms are rolling down the track and Johnson’s numerical control of the House is stuck in neutral. If we lose, which is very predictable, then Trump and MAGA are pretty much a footnote in the history books. Pretending is over.

Johnson is confronted each day with the fact that popular legislation the House passes will die in the Senate. Because the Filibuster. Why does President Trump call for eliminating the Filibuster? Because the Senate is where legislation goes to die.
What leverage can be found to dislodge the Senate? The President is working on it, in Ukraine, in Venezuela, for example. It’s always about the money. Let’s see where it is coming from, and what happens when it dries up?
You can’t follow two masters. The Speaker is a perfect example of that, the “publicans” follow lock step.
The republican party wants to lose, at least, one house. If they have two, they’re in the sunlight. One makes it look like they are trying but those darn democrats are stopping us. Lose both houses and you can have cheese with every whine. They only act when its against them and it bulges their pockets. Politics is a dirty business, as has been said. Well, today we have only sandmen.
The last time the GOP felt pressure to do things their voters demanded, 42 of them along with Speaker Paul Ryan resigned so they could throw the House to Nancy Pelosi. The purpose of that was to open the door to impeachment.
At least Democrats look you in the eyes and laugh when they stab you in the chest. Republicans will stick you in the back, then pocket the $20 they were given.
The problem we have as MAGA is the Bud Light and NFL problem. We never sustain our attacks to bring about destruction. We waive our arms a bit and yell, but ultimately a lot of us are watching NFL games laughing at the Bud Light commercials, and tipping a few back.
Republicans know that if they can slow roll Trump, that his voters will get disillusioned, and that will help them throw the House next year.
The age-old threat of mutually assured destruction keeps the bad guys – from both sides of the aisle – in power.

What really shocks me is it’s all right out in the open and Trump has been as quiet as a church mouse. I did not expect him to hold his tongue after he watched what they did to him in the first term. I assumed he’d blast their assess to the moon. He won’t for some reason. His mouth must be full of blood from biting his tongue.
When the house and/or senate move back to the democrats, the GOP establishment (and their media like Fox and the WSJ) will tell us it’s a rejection of Trump’s tactics and policies and not reflective of the do-nothing GOP. These are same Trump policies that he stated during the 2024 campaign that motivated the base to outvote massive fraud. Now the voters reject that? LOL, they are always lying, always. Get ready for it. It could start tonight in TN.

Impacting the 2026 Mid-terms is the near term objective of the “republican uni-party members” to either sway voters or to provide a ready made excuse for the outcome after the “Ballots” are dumped.
“Things get really ugly.” sounds a bit tick-tocky to me. Maybe not pure hopium, but close. The ugly has set in in the worst way: normal, strong patriots are dissuaded from running for office.
As we have seen, one man can make a difference; but who could possibly withstand what that one man has withstood?

The best solution IMHO is to not re-elect ANY sitting member of the current Congress nor anyone ever to have sat in Congress previously! America needs a fully fresh start.

The House Speaker has the same mindset as the people who knock on your door on Saturday mornings to have you accept their literature. They are locked into a construct of reality that won’t let them see the true reality that surrounds them. That is why people like him, Pence, and others can never see the answers in front of them. It’s a mental block.

The fact that everyone hates them only leads them to be more convinced of the “righteousness” of their position, because every time someone points out their blatant hypocrisy, they pat themselves on the back for “standing up under persecution” even though they have ZERO idea what that word really means!
