Marjorie Greene was elected to Congress in 2020 from a rural northwestern Georgia district. Prior to her surprise announcement she stood beside Representative Thomas Massie on controversial issues.

What ever happened between Trump and MTG goes back to at least June which is around the time Trump told her she should not run for senate because she could not win.
It was around then that she started vocally criticizing all of his policies and actually saying he wasn’t America First/maga.
She said if she had actually read the BBB bill she would not have voted yes on it. She said Tariffs were not good, she was against mass deportation, the Iran nuke site bombing, etc. She seemed to be vocally criticizing everything Trump was doing.
In early August she did an interview and said it might be time to leave the Republican party…to walk away. That was three months ago.
I suspected she might have been thinking of leaving MAGA and joining the third party that Elon Musk was then talking about starting up at that time.
So this goes back a ways and walking away has been on her mind a while.

I seem to remember that recently someone very knowledgeable told us of the attempt coming to fracture the MAGA base. If only I could remember who wrote that. They did say to watch the movements that would be coming from certain groups who need to fracture MAGA in order to take control of the Republican party. That this group is willing to lose the house and senate both if necessary to get their puppets in place for 2028. They need to divide MAGA in order to regain control. MTG and Massie are both aligned with these groups.

I think what we’re seeing here is that the Uniparty(R) will tolerate rabble-rousers in the house to some degree (and by that I mean mostly good things – the people, like Rosendale, who were willing to buck the Uniparty line), but they will tear them to shreds the minute they make a move for the Senate. That’s probably because it’s just too much to control with house seats, but also to help keep their tentacles less obvious. Obviously MTG had designs on the Senate, and when she started pushing for that is when the hit got called in. It was “Drop it, or you’re done. And you don’t want to find out how done you’ll be.”
I know some details of the endgame the led to Matt Rosendale – the best representative Montana has had in my lifetime – exiting politics. I don’t know how personally involved Trump was, but our very suspect senior Senator (Steve Daines) was very much, and I don’t doubt McConnel’s back room cabal was too. There were definitely threats to him financially, there was a (probably manufactured) story of an affair, and quite possibly worse things – based on what people who’ve tried to pick his brain on it have told me. Where Trump was involved was in that he endorsed Tim Sheehy immediately after Rosendale announced his run for Senate. Make of that what you will; the one thing I’ll say on the matter is that Trump’s primary endorsements meant Jack Schmidt (and cmd left town) to me, even before that.
Ultimately, I’m split on MTG. I think her heart was in the right place, she was working on some of the right things, but her temperament wasn’t well suited to the job, and she was too much of an attention-seeker. Because of that, she could be a real distraction, and I could see that being where Trump lost patience with her (I’m hoping Trump isn’t taking marching orders from the McConnell/Thune/Graham wing when it comes to congressional politics). One thing I can say for sure: there is almost no chance someone more principled takes her place.

I would advise listening to her resignation statement (to her district) instead of her critics before commenting, not for the purpose of joining the chorus, but to learn what’s really motivating her; she’s making a statement about a narcissistic, self-serving, Washington uniparty Congress in which nothing much gets done beyond campaigning, that no one should be happy with.
She’s done more in support of MAGA than has Miss Lindsey, whose name she mentions in that context, and whatever her personality flaws, remains solidly behind the MAGA positions she ran on.
