Marjorie Greene was elected to Congress in 2020 from a rural northwestern Georgia district. Prior to her surprise announcement she stood beside Representative Thomas Massie on controversial issues.

The first of many RINOS to resign, all for the good of the cause to fracture MAGA. Expect Massie to be the next defector.
She staunchly supported him for a long time, but Pres. Trump values total loyalty to the point that if you disagree with him on a couple things he’ll go scorched earth. I’ve supported him through 3 elections but it’s not a good look sometimes. I wish her well and hope she gets over whatever’s ailing her.

Is America defined by a bunch of talking heads who press on political pressure points because it gets them attention which equals money?

I personally find the idea that she is insider trading dubious. The broad market as measured by the S&P is up about 80% since 2021 but you have stocks like Nvidia, which she has owned, that are up 1,300%+ over that time. You will also see in the source she has a considerable amount of losers as well.
People may flail their arms about her profiting from Palantir yet the readers of this very site were told several times that this stock was a near lock for profit well before it happened. Her advisor is very likely making the trades on her behalf and largely appears to follow some basic trend following combined with simple theme allocation. Look how heavily the portfolio allocated to names across tech for example. Could say much more but ultimately very few people will spend the time looking at this in detail vs. quick reactions to headlines.
My bet is she ends up on The View, or as the well paid anti-Trump RINO on MSDNC or CNN panels. She became quite wealthy during her 5 years in Congress. Now has a lifestyle to protect.

She corrected herself right away but, as regards MTG, my facial expression is that of suspicious cat. This is beginning to look to me like a repeat of the 2018 midterms. So many seats being vacated. MTG’ resignation and personal asset growth aren’t a big influence on the nation’s economy and current cultural dynamics. I’d focus more on who’s going to replace her.

The loyalty part of Marjorie’s tenure is true, however, Trump, as opposed to his first term when a more comfortable majority in the House allowed it, would always tell congressmen to stand on the issues that would keep them in office, even to the extent of going against Trump on certain bills.
