Do we really think the Democrats give a rats asx about Medicaid and the additional Medicaid Covid subsidies that are expiring. If they did they would have extended them or made permanent when they had control with Biden.
I think they wanted the subsidies to expire so they could use it as a negotiating tool for future spending bills.
The whole government shutdown debacle is just theater. If they really care about our country and the various programs they would not be demanding an increase of $1.5T to the CR.

I also think the subsidies are a source of income through a well oiled loop between pharmaceuticals, insurance co.s, hospitals, NGOs, and others who benefit from increased health costs – and donations and kickbacks to our congress who vote for taking our tax dollars.
Funding illegal immigrant care provides a huge pot of money that creates ghosts that don’t exist, but the funding to treat them is there for the taking.

People fretting about this are falling into the trap of agreeing with the enemy that such restitution is somehow wrong. Trump should receive restitution for all the phony prosecutions. Make the NYT explain why their fake Russia reporting, and resulting fake criminal probe of Trump by a special counsel, doesn’t demand restitution.

Those who approve of turning the USA into some global version of a National Park or State Park while we taxpayers support the whole world’s visits, many of which never end.
Even loved ones who don’t mention politics I find difficult to hold my tongue around, astonished as I am that they are working to continue the damage to the nation resulting from their demographic flips.

I’ve noticed as well that some of my friends, that in the past simply ignored our political differences, seem to be hardening their hearts. They act a bit cooler than in the past, but are as yet, still willing to make niceties. I’m keeping my interactions to them at a minimum with just cheery hellos, so as not to break the friendships as the left whips them into a cultish TDS mind frame.
I think it is a bit like it would have been in Nazi Germany, as the media whipped up perfectly normal people into hating their once Jewish friends.
Not much we can do with that type of cult-like behavior except let them know we still value their friendship and show Jackie Robinson style class towards them.
I’ve said they can’t win if we don’t play and I hope that is true. Martin Luther King showed us there are more good people than there are those who succumb to the fear and hate.

To wit, three weeks ago, I played in a charity golf tournament in the DFW metroplex and my cart partner was a close friend, MAGA supporter, and highly respected businessman. He wore a beautiful, red, 250th USA Birthday celebration cap he purchased from an advertiser on The Gateway Pundit web site.
At the tee box for the first hole, a high-level, female charity staffer who organized the event told him that she admired the cap, and she was relieved to see that it wasn’t “one of those other crazy ones.” He did not reply, and she very awkwardly claimed she was just making a joke and retreated quickly.
On the way to our tee shots, I complimented him for his gentlemanly restraint. He calmly replied that he suffers no fools, and the matter went unmentioned thereafter.
When I arrived at the evening dinner event, I observed the charity’s Executive Director and Chief Development Officer very nervously fawning over my friend. I did not join the conversation.
When seated for the meal, I asked what had happened, and my friend replied that he had withdrawn a substantial donation pledge due to the thinly veiled insult spoken to him on the golf course. He smiled and quietly said, “Donors can taketh away, but I may reconsider if I later see that a lesson was learned.”
His point was made hours after the fact with absolute clarity and without creating a very discomforting confrontation/spectacle. His wisdom in both maintaining his decency of comportment and responding both quietly and effectively were excellent examples of “suffering no fools.”

As I recall, the ACA/Obama Care main goals were to expand coverage for uninsured (Medicaid), reduce insurance cost, bend the rising cost of healthcare curve down (healthcare cost rising too fast)
Why doesn’t anyone ever ask did it actually achieve any of these primary goals and if not why not. Apparently our Healthcare cost and cost of insurance is higher than ever.
And, of course, most people, if not all, that chose Obama Care option could not keep their doctor as planned. Why not?

Insurance won’t cover stem cell treatments for knees, feet, hips, treatments which would unquestionably extend ambulation – and would be vastly cheaper than a surgical knee or hip replacement, with required rehabilitation or PT, or worse, the necessity of a nursing facility after losing the ability to walk.
Let’s just see what President Trump has in mind to demolish, refocus and initiate new medical coverage (dislike the word insurance) for everyone that is a citizen of this country.
One can only imagine that PDJT has his eye on this ACA disaster.. With something else entirely different, with new thinking and less government involvement that also propels the economy in this Golden Age! Amen 🙏🏽

Looks like they should have allowed Israel to oust Hamas completely when they wanted to. The rats were hiding in their holes until the peace plan fuss blew over. President Donald Trump’s administration has formed an Interagency Weaponization Working Group (IWWG) charged with “deweaponizing” and “depoliticizing” agencies from Biden-era weaponization against the American people, an official confirmed to the Daily Caller.
Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Director Tulsi Gabbard organized the group — which has been meeting since April — to “share information, coordinate and execute,” officials told Fox News Digital on Monday.
“The American people made a clear choice when they elected President Trump — to stop the Biden administration’s prolific and dangerous weaponization of government agencies against the American people and the Constitution,” Gabbard said. “I stood up this working group to start the important work of interagency coordination under President Trump’s leadership to deliver accountability.”
DNI Press Secretary Olivia Coleman told the Caller that the group was organized to “undo the Biden Administration’s whole-of-government approach to weaponizing the government against the American people.”…

I have not been as active in recent weeks because of a month of traveling for various reasons.
Part of our travels took us to Bangor, Maine’s airport (by the way, the correct pronunciation if Bang-Gore, not “Banger.” 😉 )
In the airport, while waiting for our flight, we overhear a conversation between a young father from a town, which by chance we had visited, and a an older married couple returning to their home in Tampa, Florida.
The young father described his family and Millinocket, the small town where he chose to live. Millinocket was a mill town, and the mill closed down c. 20 years ago, leaving residents to scurry for new careers in tourism, or to leave for other areas. It shows that things have been difficult in recent years, but that those who have stayed there were surviving in some way.
We attended a Sunday Mass at the Catholic Church there, whose pastor was an African from Cameroon! Yes, the African Catholic missions, which we supported 70 years ago in our parish schools with our pennies and nickels, are now sending us priests! Certainly the parish was a reflection of the town: sturdy, not wealthy, but faithful and optimistic.
So, Millinocket is not prosperous, not a “gentrified” town like those on the coast (Bar Harbor, also known as Bah Hahbah! )
But the young man told the Floridians in essence why he and his wife chose to live in Millinocket “The kids love it there. They can go to parks, play baseball, ride their bikes everywhere, they love to go sledding in the winter, and everyone is safe. We know our neighbors and they know us. We tried a big city (he did not name it) but we agreed that we liked Millinocket much better.”
I looked at Mrs. Ausonius and said: “It sounds like 1955 is alive and well in Millinocket!”
The Tampa couple was supportive and understanding and even envious: they described the nightmare, daymare, and afternoonmare of living in one of Florida’s jammed and lunatic cities with crime, traffic, and high prices, especially for real estate.
They must have been c. 60 years of age, and the wife made a statement which I found appallingly melancholy: “This trip gave me my first experience of seeing the change of seasons: I have never experienced Autumn before. It is so beautiful and cool up here!”
Well, better late than never!
Anyway, I found the young father’s comments intriguing, as there have been articles about people leaving The Communist Rat Races in DEM controlled cities and choosing to live in smaller towns.
Whether this is an actual trend, I do not know, but this young father and his wife have made an excellent choice for their children! We have many similar villages in our area of northwest Ohio: absolutely idyllic and prosperous places with names like Kalida, Ottoville, Delphos, Celina, Minster, St. Mary’s, St. Henry’s, et al. (German Catholic immigrants settled in the area in the 1800’s and their descendants have done well.)

To some extent you describe is also occurring here.
While our cities will continue to grow and become increasingly “ unliveable “ numerous seniors and under 35 year olds with ambition are moving away to smaller communities.
Sadly though in some instances the senior boomers ( the wife and I are such) take their cash from property sales, and their haughty attitude to a number of those towns.
Many start sliding political left, and become “ stepping stones” for scum politicians.
That said..the allure of the smaller towns, particularly on Vancouver Island, an island that is larger in land mass than many E.U. Countries.
The population of the island is approximately 1.5 million, and the majority of that is located in Victoria, and the surrounding area which is at the southern most part of the island.
A short ferry ride from Washington State.

I’ve noticed there is a lot of Canadian young-men youtubers getting their content boosted recently. What do they all have in common?
Two things:
1) They seem to be Christian but religion is not their focus. You can tell by the references they make and certain assertions about the way things are.
2) They are ALL blaming and attacking Canadian boomers for their downfall and current challenges. This is the main focus of all the content. What you described is often stated at length by them and contextualized around almost every single problem they have with succeeding in Canada.
Now, I happen to agree with them completely, and they do a great job of outlining this situation over generations, the boomer influence and mindset, etc. But it is funny that you posted this, because just last night after finishing a videos I thought “Wow, young Canadian white young men are very clear on who their enemy and persecutors are”. It seems apparent that boomers in Canada have grown to be quite the traitors and or “evil enemies” of your native young population!
Might want to get a couple of shirts, Dekester for you and the missus to wear around that say “Boomer by Age, Millennial by Mind” or some variant. We don’t want your young folks confusing the 30% of you boomers who didn’t and don’t continue to cause their problems, lumped in with the rest.
Last note: If I am seeing lots of young Canadian content, that means it is EVERYWHERE, since I don’t typically have content habits that would seed this in my algorithms. Canadians seem to have their mind made up on two things ruining Canada: Boomers, and Indian immigrants.
Will be interesting to see if this ever translates to any lasting change. Doubt it, sadly.

As a fellow “Ohioan” I detest cities and love the rural areas. I remember my suprise once when a college teacher admitted he was scared of quiet rural areas. He much preferred the city. I have heard other city dwellers share similiar opinions of the city. I confess that being raised in rural Indiana and Ohio, that for me, rural living is best. Hard to beat homegrown sweet corn, beans and beets, etc. Even the “truck farmers” don’t compare to that! You might have a conflict with the raccoons though:) As for rural law enforcement, no wokeness there! The salt of the earth. God bless the USA, and even more, the rural areas!!
Rural living has lots of benefits if you can do it economically. Lots of well-off, former corporate types in my ‘hood in South Carolina are selling their homes once their youngest get out of the house, and buying up more rural homesteads to do some hobby farming and light animal raising (not to profit, but as their retirement lifestyle, for “fun”).
There goes my hope of getting good Bang Gores and mash.

Florida would be great if not for the things you mentioned during late Spring and Summer. Those seasons rule Florida out as a place of any type of permanent residence for me ; at least while there are political alternatives (society is no.1 so if Florida becomes the only sane place left, I’d go even if it was a volcano). I’ve found South Carolina and the Gold Coast of Georgia to be the perfect in-between climate from the horrible NE and the sticky, icky Florida.

Things are tenuous right now, as we all know, and nothing is guaranteed. Too many Communists are still in the government and throughout our schools K-16 +, civic associations, city councils, government bureaucracies, even the churches of all denominations (synagogues too, perhaps?).
Until the Communists are removed from positions of power and influence, and – I believe firmly – until a Christian religious revival starts to fill the churches, no Golden Age will be possible, no matter what happens in D.C.

I can count on a few of the male Sikhs I have known for many for assistance if required.
As best as I can determine it was Americans, and Europeans of several “ traditional “ faiths that attempted to destroy your truly remarkable President and his wonderful family.
Especially the ever so evangelical Pence, Pelosi, Biden, Schumer and Obama.

With regard to Tina Peter’s being jailed serving hard time in Colorado: This all goes back to the treasonous conspiracy of the 2020 election steal.
President Trump has suggested raising the quota on imports of beef from Argentina. This has resulted in shrill screams from Big Ag, because it would loosen their grip on the throats of the consumer and the sweetmeats of the producers.
I like the idea. It begs the question, why is there a 20 million kilogram quota on imports of beef from Argentina in the first place? Beef is now so expensive in the supermarket, that consumers are being conditioned not to eat it at all. And we are told much of American produced beef is exported.

This has shifted all the risk onto the farmers, and reserved all the profits for the middlemen. In bygone days, farmers used to be able to ship to alternative markets, if the price at their local stockyards was low. The beef market is now completely broken. Both farmers and consumers must accept whatever price is given them. It has become an anticompetitive cartel.
Importing more beef cannot make the situation in the beef industry worse, it can only get better. When a situation has become intolerable, doing something to stir the pot can get positive results.
