IMO US can’t afford to keep funding Ukraine. US can’t afford to protect Taiwan from China. The idea of sending a massive naval fleet to confront China around Taiwan seems foolhardy to me because of China’s satellites that can track and target them from space. US can’t afford NATO and this is in part why Trump has sought to raise NATO defense spending from 2% to 5% essentially preparing them to take care of themselves. Trump has been trying to give them the softest landing possible. IMO within about 5-8 years the US is going to have to bring all the troops home…pack it all up…and that’s the end of the empire. Defense is going to have to be cut by 50%. Pax Americana is over…long over. Even if there is no financial collapse it is unsustainable. We’re going to have to have new priorities, realistic budgets, smart trade, and probably new allies within a reduced sphere of influence. I think it’s imperative for us to restore relations with Russia, keep relations with India, and stop driving nations to China and BRICS via overreaching sanctions and regime change operations and focus on good business and economics.
