My family arrived in Fairbanks Alaska 1971. One moose fed us year round excellent protein I have hunted every season since. 30.06 was my hunting rifle. There is a lot we don’t know. Hunters are simply giving you the benefit of their experience. What a slug from a 30.06 will do depends on a number of factors, not the least of which is the composition of the round. A softer slug will do different things from a harder or jacketed round. I personally remain neutral, pending further information.
All of TPUSA says Kirk wasn’t wearing armor. I will choose to believe THAT. I will agree it’s dumb, but Charlie was an uncommon person.
The only explanation for no exit wound etc would be the distance of the shot . From far enough away it will do minimal damage . I’m a deer hunter myself . Not every shot I’ve ever made with any weapon , produced an exit wound 100% of the time . But , I guess that would suggest he wasn’t the shooter and it wasn’t a 30.06. Which I’m not suggesting .
At 200 yards, a .30-06 round firing a 180-grain bullet (a common weight of a .30-06 bullet) from a rifle is still travelling at ~2,400 fps and will deliver ~2,000 ft. lbs of energy on the target.
A lighter bullet will travel a bit faster and have slightly more energy.
Imho, the bullet that hit Charlie was not a .30-06 round fired from a rifle at whatever distance it is being reported that the alleged assassin shot from, as it would have done a lot more damaged and passed through his body (and captured within it).
My question is-
Would a lightweight round do the impossible and not just punch thru?

The person who made the video showing “someone up on the building” video has made additional statements. The rifle was shorter, the sound of the fire was not 30 cal but more like a light .223.
I don’t know what happened, but it’s hard to say we’re being told the truth. The text message dialog reads like an AI generated script. The frequent change of clothes, they idea that a rifle could be hidden in skinny jeans? It’s all beyond insane.
The report was that the bullet was found by the doctor who examined the body but there’s no mention of the bullet at all or if there was any damage other than to soft tissue. But what WAS said is that it was found just beneath the surface of the skin. And the potential for not making it back out would be consistent with a light grain .223 round.
Again, the only thing we know is that there are lies and deception all through this. I don’t want to extend trust to PARTS of a story.

But this is about the distinction between .22 caliber and .30 caliber. You can’t make a 22 sound like a 30.
That said, 5.56 is a much hotter load. They are not the same. You can shoot .223 from a 5.56 but shooting 5.56 in a rifle intended for .223 is a bad idea.
Geometrically, they are the same. We all know it. The rest is about gas pressure. It’s not about minor differences in percussive sound. It’s also about speed and inertial energy. To not go through a human neck requires a much lighter projectile. No 30 caliber bullet can be fired at range to be accurate without all of the factors at play. It had to be fast enough to get there. At that speed and at the weight of a 30 caliber bullet, it’s simply impossible to get stuck in the neck like that.
A 22 caliber (which includes .223 and 5.56) could potentially behave in this way.
You “Just stop. Stop.” is a beg to accept the narrative which is in its parts incredibly suspect. OK, so we end up on the bullet debate again.
Granted, I have not read or sought every commentary on the subject, but I do understand physics. Here’s my shooting theory:
The bullet came in low and ricocheted off of one of the steel barricades in front of Charlie, either the top rail or one of the lower rails.
Why? the bullet seems to be on a very upward trajectory when it hit him and rather than make a small entry, the entry is large, as would be the case if the bullet had been deformed by it’s primary impact against the railing.
Hitting the railing would have also slowed the bullet, thereby making an entry-only type of wound possible.
It’s also entirely possible that the bullet fragged and Charlie was hit by shrapnel rather than a complete slug.
It is even possible that the bullet knocked off a small fragment of the steel rail.
Wondering if anyone inspected those railings???? or ran a magnet over what came out of him?
Was he wearing Kevlar or not?

If you don’t know the answer to both questions you should not speculate.

I don’t know what to think now. I saw the video, I saw the movement of the shirt and I don’t know what to make of it. I have heard ZERO explanation about the movement of the shirt so if there is one out there? REPLY because I want to know a reasonable point of view on that.

But if it turns out he was wearing a vest, why would the TPUSA people actively deny it? I generally lean in favor of the more simple explanation as most will. Also, “fun fact” if you could say so, my step-mother was buried in a military grave not terribly long ago. I had to be reminded as to why exactly. When I was really little (like 7 or 8) I was told she was in a secretarial pool of information processing people at the CIA where my father met her. My father was a extremely high clearance research scientist at Texas Instruments. The only project he could discuss is night vision. Til the day he died, he would speak of NONE of the other projects. He also received a military burial but he was in the US Army so that’s not unusual.
My father was and my step-mother was Mormon. She was an Ohio Mormon but also had family connections in Utah. Now I’m hearing the CIA recruits from Mormon areas because of their specifically clean lifestyle. She was probably exactly what she said she was — just a data processing person in a secretarial pool. In that time period, the Desktop PC was not yet “a thing” and typewriters were ABSOLUTELY the dominant form of keyboard work of the day.
Nothing important there but dots have been more firmly connected than before. I knew that she was CIA but nothing “cloak and dagger.” But it was always murky to me as to “why her?” Now maybe there’s an answer to that. Probably no one thinks that’s interesting but it’s interesting to me.

I went to the Rabbit Hole and found a video of what may be an impact behind his right ear.
They are still not telling the full truth about JFK so our grandkids may be able to piece it together in 60 years.
IF that’s true, why would they make up an implausible fiction of a 30 cal bullet found in his neck just below the skin along with claims of super-human bones which saved the lives of people behind him?
If there was a reasonable explanation, they would have gone with that wouldn’t they? You know, instead of creating all of these new little stories that don’t make sense?
Perhaps the objective is also for people to disagree on events and causes to ensure the truth remains murky. It’s really hard to HIDE the truth, but it seems easy to get people to disagree with what the truth actually is if coordinated leaks and disclosures keep coming out to muddy the water some more.

All of the videos claiming shots from behind rely on still frames that are just too blurry to make out what they are.
