I am waiting for a course correction. There is also a culture of people wanting to be nice so they will never publicly disagree about anything. This is not healthy. We got out of Utah and away from that aspect of church membership. Most members live outside of Utah and things are quite different out of the state. People stick more to Gospel basics. I also met some of the best members in Utah, it is just that the small minority ruin it for everyone.

I did not make up my comment about the church being compromised by drugs. From 2010-2016 there was an American documentary-style series on Nat Geo called “Drugs, Inc.”. On 7/2/2014 an episode was aired discussing the unique position of SLC (e.g. the intersection of I-15 & I-80 facilitating the movement of illegal drugs), the drug world/cartel activity within SLC, and “addiction & dealing among the Mormon community …” Many of us, regardless of faith, are naive and find it difficult to see reality. It’s probably because we don’t have any concept of the truth. When we are faced with the ugly truth we often reject it & call it by its See Eye A name: conspiracy theory.
