the most wonderful part of the experience of humility and honor is to acknowledge the PEOPLE IN YOUR OWN LIFE THAT MADE A DIFFERENCE IN HOW YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND YOUR FAITH.
For me, it’s quite simple…Dad. My Father. My hero and the only man that I can say that I truly love.
Dad spent countless hours showing me the bible, reading the verses, praying next to me on his knees, and assuring me of the confidence that comes from being a believer.
it was very hard for me to become a believer. I had so many questions that spoiled my trust. I was as they say, not certain.
My father didn’t convince me because he did these things FOR ME>
it was the long runs….watching how he truly had joy in his life, free of concern about the world of sin around him. No matter what we were doing, no matter the time or the place, I would wonder how is it that my Father can remain so clean, uninjured my the world around him, three times vietnam combat infantry with losses that would make anyone question faith in God.
Dad told me this once. I am here because I prayed that I would make you from me, as the Lord Jesus made us all.
AND MY MOTHER….a woman who had endured, endured, endured, endured, so very much….and never lost her faith in God against all reasons to expect that she might. Because DAD. He was the anchor…the fearless leader of moral strength.
you enter this world with one mission: to fulfill the word…or die trying.
I am happy to report that my father remains very much alive in the word and spirit (is there a difference?), and at ease with his effort to prepare me for the same.
I will not go gently into the night.
