Long ago I had an Argentine Mauser in 7.65×53. I used it for hunting. It was incredibly accurate but ammunition was a bit pricey.

Are there Mausers manufactured to 30-06 caliber? LE ctc of mine says not aware of any instance (only 8mm). Also notes that specialty rounds are not manufactured for 8mm.

The one I used to have was an 1891 Argentine Mauser in 7.65x53mm which was standard for all the Argentine variants of that era.

“Older” style Mauser could be just a vintage hunting rifle from Mauser itself, or a surplus military rifle sporterized for hunting. The number converted with a barrel to .308 or 30-06 (most popular caliber ever) would fill many CONEX containers. Go easy with the “oooh aaahhhhh” foreign angle. They’re just being as specific as they can. Some other MIL surplus Mauser actions produced by license in some countries don’t have a long enough action for a 30-06 conversion. I understand the Turkish action is a No, German K98 action is Ok for example. Has to do with overall length of the catridge fitting in the magazine box.
The mauser action could be special ordered in many cartridges. The mauser action from military surplus rifles from all over the world was often re-barreled and re-chambered in more easily obtainable and more economical loadings.
This sounds like a “sporterized” mauser action (the bolt and receiver) that was matched up with a new barrel in the commonly available .30-06 Springfield (also known as .30 caliber ball to the US Govt armories).
The ATF/FBI would do well to check the last six months with firearms dealers for sales of sporterized mauser chambered in .30-06 all over the western US. For example AI has a .30-06 sporterized mauser selling for $500.00 July 2025 in Littleton, Co.
“Mauser” is often just a generic term for any bolt action rifle using a Mauser-style action. There are a million AR15 clones all commonly dubbed AR15s, though strictly speaking they are not – they are AR15-style rifles.

I didn’t follow Charlie Kirk closely. Most of what I did see was during election season, especially when Kari Lake was running. I had no idea he was a devout Christian. I had no idea he was so articulate when discussing the Bible. I need to study my Bible a lot more apparently. Especially Deuteronomy and Leviticus.

I am seeing the terms martyr and assassinated referring to Charlie Kirk’s death, but I am not seeing them used together. For clarification, martyr is used for a person killed for their religious beliefs. Assassination is often used in terms of politial beliefs.
Charlie Kirk was a contender for the faith and killed for his faith in the one true living God, and His Son Jesus Christ. He was martyred for his faith, but a trained assassin killed him.

I told her that God ‘s plan is perfect and it is my belief that millions of people will hear his voice today that never heard it before, including her. I am greatly reduced to sorrow over Charlie Kirk’s assassination. However, he was not alone. His death is not the end of a movement. Rather, Charlie Kirk is one of many Evangelical Christians who have awakened to the wonderful Christian founding, Founders and history of the USA. From David Barton and WallBuilders to Hillsdale College we are seeing Evangelicals defend a Christian worldview and values system including in US political discourse. Have trouble believing my assertion? Check with the placement of Hillsdale College for their interns and graduates and the location of those placements. A long journey always begins with the first step. Thankfully, there are many Evangelical Christians and more than a few conservative Roman Catholics who are taking a stand for Jesus Christ, our Founders, Founding Documents and thereby our country. May their tribe increase. God preserve and bless them all.
