BREAKING. Conservative pundit and leading voice of Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk was about 20 minutes into a presentation when he was shot, a spokesperson for Utah Valley University told NBC News.
The spokesperson said, to the best of the university’s knowledge, Kirk was hit and taken with his security team away from the premises, and the courtyard was cleared. Video from Twitter below:
Kirk was sat in a tent with the “American Comeback Tour” logo when a shot is heard and Kirk physically recoils, slumping down in his seat. Blood is seen flowing down from his neck and the crowd audibly panics and begins to run.

I was just going on live radio to talk about a movie being made by Angel Studios in Utah, where I live. When all hell broke loose. We had on a woman who was seated in the front row. She said she saw him get shot, it was a lot of blood and two people carried them off, and she left with the rest of the crowd but then realize she dropped her wallet and so went back.
She happened to witness that old guy walking up to a police officer and saying “I did it I did it I shot him shoot me shoot me arrest me.” And the police officer acted surprised. Now UVU has said that is not the gunman.

Even so, a 10 yo can make the shot, having had sufficient practice, and a rifle and scope with ranging reticle (a set of crosshairs with hash marks or dots to accurately judge distance to target) tuned for pinpoint accuracy.
Many factors could have allowed for there being a shooter who located close to Charlie. For instance, if the crowd was intentionally stacked with collaborators, a shooter with the right small weapon, knowing that the intentionally stacked crowd would prevent others from identifying the shooter during the planned riot and mob scence set in motion by the presumed shooter’s false attribution. Such commotion would add further interference and protection for the real shooter
But the ballistic reports will be determinative.
Also, after the shooting, the fact that everybody scattered in all directions could have meant that the shooter was among them, likely dressed in similar clothing, and per plan.
Now word comes that shooter is in custody. What can we expect now?
