The financial pundits are putting their customary spin on it, but overall as the reciprocal tariffs begin, things are going well.
China’s trade surplus with the US declined to USD 23.74 billion in July, down from USD 26.57 billion in June, as both exports and imports with the US declined, falling 21.7% and 18.9%, respectively. {LINK}
For Germany, exports to the U.S. slid 2.1% to 11.8 billion euros, the third consecutive monthly decrease and the lowest value since February 2022, Destatis said. They were 8.4% lower than the same month last year. {LINK} However, since imports from the U.S. increased at the same time, this narrowed Germany’s trade surplus in goods with the U.S.
Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter left Washington empty-handed on Wednesday after a hastily arranged trip to avert a crippling 39% tariff on the country’s exports to the United States, its biggest market, three sources familiar with the matter said. {LINK}
Reciprocal tariffs begin today. “Before Thursday, virtually every country’s goods were subject to a minimum 10% tariff. Now rates vary substantially from country to country.”
The highest rates imposed are on goods from Brazil (50%), Laos (40%), Myanmar (40%), Switzerland (39%), Iraq (35%) and Serbia (35%).
An additional 21 countries also face levies greater than 15%. That includes several countries the US relies heavily on for a variety of goods, such as Vietnam (20%), India (25%), Taiwan (20%) and Thailand (19%).
Goods from India could also be subject to an additional 25% tariff stacked on top of that because of an executive order Trump signed Wednesday that seeks to penalize India for purchasing oil from Russia. That second tariff is slated to take effect on August 27.
Thirty-nine countries’ goods, as well as members of the European Union, are subject to 15% tariffs, according to a list the White House published last week.
Besides Canada and Mexico, all other countries the US imports goods from will continue to face a minimum 10% tariff, albeit with a few exemptions.
Goods from Mexico and Canada are exempt from tariffs if they’re compliant with the US-Mexico-Canada free-trade agreement. If not, goods from Mexico are subject to 25% tariffs, while goods from Canada are subject to 35% tariffs, up from 25% previously. (more)

America for Americans. Quaint.
With these tariffs now in place for most nations, PDT & Putin’s meeting coming up couldn’t be any more important. If PDT and Putin can get close to some semi normal trade relationship, globalists all over the world will go absolutely crazy. Take away the noise and the deep state’s manipulation, the Ukraine farce could end very quickly. The global economic picture would change very rapidly if some type of direct trade agreement with Russia was made. On the flip side, the US dollar could be on really shakey ground if things go south between PDT & Putin
Well said. From your lips to God’s ears. I’m naively hoping these two leaders recognize what they have in common in having been played by the globalists bent on destroying the West.
🙏
There is very little trade between Russia and the US. It’s so small, it is irrelevant. In 2024, the US exported $530 million and the US imported $3 billion.
Not happening soon.
We need additional tariffs of EU/UK until they quit sabotaging PDT’s peace efforts in Ukraine and Gaza.
The debt collector is in the house.
Or the grim reaper! lol
More like SANITY has taken control of the house.
I was just listening to some moron guest on Fox Business insist how inflationary tariffs “always are without exception…”
Yawn!
Riddle me this Mr. Expert on Fox, if that were the case then why isn’t there such rampant inflation in all of the countries that impose massive tariffs and non-tariff trade barriers on the Good ‘Ol USA?
Yes, and Rand Paul keeps saying it’s a tax on US buyers that flows to Washington. That may turn out to be somewhat true, but it’s also bringing companies (manufacturers) back to the U.S. which means jobs, middle class jobs.
He also says that tariffs are the job of Congress, not the President. But, Congress, as usual, has done nothing and we have a $T trade deficit.
Paul is a typical Establishment UniParty politician that complains about Trumps EOs that do things that benefit us while the Congress has done nothing but do things that benefit them and their donors.
Congress has authorized the President to impose tariffs at his discretion via a number of laws, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
MAGA
Congress has only itself to blame. They haven’t even TRIED to come up with a budget, also their responsiblity, since 2007.
So true annie. No budget no control. Congress cannot control itself when it comes to spending. Most of the spending is waste; so it hurts the future of the country. But it lines their pockets. Politicians are the worst of us.
One of the indicators of a victory will be that Congressmen do not go in with litle money and leave as multimillionaires.
Shoot, I thought in was 1997 for the last budget! They wimp out on baseline budgeting.
‘…it’s also bringing companies (manufacturers) back to the U.S. which means jobs, middle class jobs.’
If corporations have anything to do with it, they will be lower class jobs at the bottom of the economic scale. That’s the trend.
If they could, they would make employees work for free.
In fact, their wet dream is firing all the employees and just printing infinite money. They would doubtless try that if the legal side could be managed.
Cynical? A profit-oriented corporation has one mission: To make as much money as possible and then some. Employees are nothing but an expendable resource with a cost to a corporation larger than a mom-and-pop company.
Yes, now that their USaid and ngo troughs have all dried up I heard them float the idea of 70 hour workweeks? Hilarious!
I assume our payroll taxes are all they have left to abuse? Nice try guys. But no dice.
Paul is out over his skies 98% of the time. He always comes across overly uppity even when hes wrong. Which is most of the time.
Chinese donors?
I like Rand Paul, but disagree with him on tariffs. Trump is looking out after America. Congress is all talk and no action. Trump is Action! He means what he says and says what he means.
you may like rand, but
rest assured, rand loathes you
Are you serious? 🤯
Lorrie, Talk like Budalysis confirms that ‘talk is the cheapest form of entertainment’.
Paul is not a typical establishment uniparty guy but he definitely is not some libertarian strict constitutionalist that he and his supporters make him out to be.
Thank you Rand Paul for ripping off your mask.
If it wasn’t for those meddling MAGA kids and their Trump, you’d have gotten away with it too.
rand sure went after the premeditated m*rderer, fraudxi, with one of his better ‘rand rants’ in those dog and pony congressional hearings
great theater
they were later spotted sharing pricey cocktails together on the taxpayers’ dime
it’s way past wake up and smell the coffee time, folks
And if you remember the 2016 debates, it’s not a very attractive one. He’s still butt hurt about PDT calling out his looks.
All the mask are coming off Elle. It is just like all the Scooby Do reruns isn’t it!? AND they are cartoon characters to say the least. The politicians (albeit not ours/sarc) have been running the US into the ground for decades. Rudderless and petulant children.
Wake me up when Rand Paul declares a recess so that his President can finally appoint his own cabinet without RINO interference. We’re waiting, Raaand.
If you like a good speech, Rand’s your guy.
Paul Ryan is a miniscule 🌭.
He certainly takes care of his self interests.
How did Paul Ryan get in here?!
Paul Ryan is appropriate to criticize in a thread about tariffs since he constantly ridicules tariffs as being inflationary for consumers. As was proven during President Trump’s first term, that narrative is not always accurate and when there is price inflation due to tariffs, it has been very small. The exporting nations such as China wind up absorbing much of the increase in order to keep prices competitive.
But self proclaimed experts ignore that reality and continue to whine.
If anyone one GOP CongressCritter deserves to have the UniParty plaque hung around their neck – It’s Paul Ryan w Rinsed Pebbles AKA Reince Priebus
Congress has abdicated their responsibility. Congress is not capable to intellectualize a tariff strategy.
Rand Paul doesn’t mind other countries taxing us though.
Never trust the mainstream media. This included Fox. Do your own research.
These tariffed countries/businesses have the option of building a division of their business in the USA. They can still keep the business in country X. But they can open a plant in the USA, not pay tariffs, and (eventually) pay 15% corporate taxes on their US company.
Tariffs are the stick. Opening a business in the USA is the carrot. Take your pick.
Less shipping costs. Turtle and Chao will have sadz.
That would explain why my SIL, who watches nothing but FAUX News, told me that the tariffs are “going to add $2400 per year per person” onto the cost of things we all regularly need to buy! I told her that was NOT true and that the tariffs will only be added to the cost of goods from other countries AND those countries and those manufacturers will eat much of the cost themselves, in order to be able to still sell on the American market!
I have not watched Faux (FOX) since November 2020.
Ha! I never had cable/satellite until about 3 years ago.
A couple years after that, I realized the legendary FOX/CNN/MSNBC I had heard about and seen clips from for decades were actually there, actually real, not just something you passed in an airport.
I paused on FOX a couple times (“Wow, it DOES exist!”) but couldn’t stand the yammering after about 30 seconds and that was it, haven’t looked at them since.
Too bad they are bundled, which means I am now paying for them, which is a step backward.
Disagree,3 items we buy weekly & yearly have went up considerably since tariffs, coffee 4 bucks more for 8 o clock, small engine parts from Amazon (china) went up a good bit. i use aquarium air bubblers in our outside ponds year round, price doubled this week. this & many others will probably stay high, which may help reshore some manufacturing here.
“have gone up”.
Coffee has gone through the roof because the supply has been greatly reduced due to WEATHER in the growing areas. Nothing to do with tariffs.
High tariffs on Brazil.
There are 80 other countries to buy coffee from. Brazil will socialize themselves right into oblivion
https://www.freshroastedcoffee.com/ a Pennsylvania outfit Good deals on all sorts of coffee and tea. For the past 5 years I’ve bought their BREAKFAST BLEND 15 lbs at a time to save on shipping. They assured me the product is sealed airtight in nitrogen gas guaranteed to stay fresh for a year. I buy the stuff twice a year. It always tastes the same. Consistency in coffee is important.
Cafe de Monteverde from Costa Rica. It is what you taste when you are dreaming of a perfect cup of coffee. Available from Montana Coffee Traders.
Columbia says they have great coffee too.
Costa Rica has way better coffee than Brazil. Recalling that Costa Rica only has a 10% tariff with the US.
And Vietnam. There are other countries to buy from, suck it up and get over it. BTW, I am a coffeeholic myself.
Re: Can’t blame coffee prices entirely on tarriffs, most of the price hike has to do with weather conditions etc.
At the wholesale cost.
The whole Country was based on tariffs until we got away from them (two hundred years of low prices), and then we almost immediately got inflation; as soon as the domestic industries were driven into extinction then we were subject to foreign monopolistic price gouging; done intentionally so people don’t have any money, foreign countries are old pros at that.
The Dollar General! They are a China corp and make almost every product there, prices keep rising and products keep shrinking. Major corp keeping people poor. Easy access, one in every rural town, probably city and suburbs too! Greed! They know poor people mainly on benefits don’t have a ride to the grocery store, easy access, junk food!
Dollar General is a publicly traded company on the NYSE. Now, their buyers very well may buy much of their products from China, as does Walmart, Hobby Lobby, etc.
Money laundering ; no way they do enough business to service capital expended to build a store .
You are wrong about that. Dollar General stores do enormous traffic.
I wonder if there are or have been job openings for the central administration, communication and bookkeeping for our tariffs. I think that’s a great opportunity.
I just built a laundry room for a shipping broker who was retired and just had to buy another company and needs 5 more licensed brokers like now ! He is working till 10:30 at night and cussing more than his entire life ! I asked his wife if he needs to borrow my truck to take all his checks to the bank and they just both laughed real hard ! He says one Chinese company makes every grill you buy at the box stores and just that one company has already paid 175 Million Dollar in tariffs! lol
He is going crazy working out of retirement to try and catch his companies up !!
a.i. has those bases covered, and
a.i. never takes a sick day and works for $2/day
within a few short years, none of those jobs will be performed by humans
“Goods from India could also be subject to an additional 25% tariff stacked on top of that because of an executive order Trump signed Wednesday that seeks to penalize India for purchasing oil from Russia.”
Welcome to the negotiation table Mr. Putin.
ok neocon.
Everyone who was getting oil from Russia before the sanctions, are still getting oil from Russia, through India (and that includes the EU).
…Because they choose where to buy their oil? Seems foolish to me. I thought the tariffs were to mitigate trade barriers, and not drive policy? Trying to aggravate the largest democracy in the world? Not very smart.
India got caught being a pass – through. Slap them down.
Good excellent!!! Long time coming!!!!! MAGA
Make Vermont Maple Syrup great again.
Top three on the “MAGA / AMERICA FIRST” to do list:
Close the border – complete
BBB – complete
Worldwide Tariffs in place – complete (includes returning the CIA cash caches hidden overseas for decades, amounting to $1.5 trillion)
wrong
1 – stop gennociding us with poison medicines, food and water
2 – repair our riggged nationwide election systems
everything else is far downstream from these two critical issues
Border and deportations were always number 1 for voters!
with all due respect, anon, you’ve completely missed the point
if all elections were free and fair the border would’ve never been left open in the first place and there’d be no need for mass deportations, capiche
that’s what the tell-a-lie-vision told you so it’s gotta be true!
Hey Bud. Agree with Cactus and you. MAGA is sufficiently adept at completing multiple task at one time. PDJT has bandaged and is nursing the country his while Kennedy connection and DOJ are working your list. Winning, Winning, Winning. 😎🙏🏽
Trump= Omar Tariff. Stack those Benjamins
And somehow, the world hasn’t come to an end. Its a miracle!
Switzerland, the socialist land where everything is free…
Wonder how much longer that’s gonna last?
Switzerland has direct democracy. There is nothing socialist about it.
It is run by satanic Globalist Bankers trying to open a demonic portal at Cern.
Hell, No!
That is a very interesting observation! Will it be the Collider from hell?
It will not be, praise God!
Demonic Portals: Are Humans Opening Gateways to Darkness? (Prophetic Warning)

Switzerland is a place where bankers are willing to help ‘launder’ and conceal stolen money and gold. … There’s plenty of information on the Internet about ‘criminals, dictators, politicians and scofflaws ‘ using the Swiss Banks (among others) to store the proceeds from their crimes. … +The former Democratic Senator from New Jersey, Bob Menendez, tried to hid gold bars and cash at his house; he was caught.
Didn’t they steal everything in the first place? Vatican Guard comes from there. They stole all the artwork and gold from WW II. All the while remaining “neutral.” If I am wrong on this, blame American TV. I’m am uninterested in this subject and too tired to look it up.
Switzerland. Will chocolate be more expensive now??
<Will chocolate be more expensive now??>
Not necessarily…
They may still have a few twix up their sleeve 🙂
WORDMAN™ strikes again.
I bow to your gift for this; really clever.

My pal Joey says…
That’s better than bewitched, bothered and bewildered 🙂

Now you did it, Sir….it’s after 12:30am, I am in work….and I want/need a couple of Twix bars !!
Likely the swiss cheese will have bigger holes in it to compensate for the tariffs!
If the holes get any bigger there won’t be any cheese left!
We import a lot of our drugs from Switzerland.
For now…
And that’s the real point of Trump’s tariffs.
These tariffs INCENTIVIZE moving drug making into the USA especially since that is a national security issue.
Yes, buy your chocolate now. Drought and adverse growing conditions are reported to severely affect supply. Supposedly Hershey products are expected to double from reports I’ve read.
Speaking of drought, I’m wondering what happened to our monsoon this summer here in Arizona. Imo, It’s a drought if ever there were one so far. Did the rain making geo-engineers steal our monsoon? We may have to sue them to get our monsoon back.
We have not had a “rainy season” in SWFL for more than 12 years.
In Utah too. No rain at all in northern Utah since a 7/4 sprinkle.
Which Indian tribes do rain dances? We need them!
So sweet to see the antiquated/destructive Marshall plan cut to shreds by Trump with his tariff/super negotiating team sword. Now he must battle with the Central Banks/Feds to wrest control of monetary policy/money supply from their brutal, tyrannical, satanic grip. Trump has the time to begin dismantling their power.
Former House Speaker Paul Ryan on Trump’s tariff agenda, Fed independence today on CNBC…
Paul Ryan, Solamere Capital partner, Teneo vice chairman and former House Speaker, joins ‘Squawk Box’ to discuss the state of the economy, President Trump’s tariff agenda, the Fed’s inflation fight, ouster of the BLS chief, tariff revenue dividend, and more.
Ryan says the quiet part out loud in the first few minutes of the interview that the Supreme Court will order that the President’s tariffs under the IEEPA are illegal. Ryan adds that Administration is already preparing to use tariff authority under other laws but they are much more restrictive such as Section 232 and 122.
Wasn’t his family member installed on the supreme court not for her merit, but for other reasons? Didn’t he nominate her to become a district court judge in the first place?
Ketanji Brown Jackson is Eddie Munster’s SIL.
Sorry Paul Ryan, but the judiciary has nothing to do with tariffs.
Try telling that to the rogue judges who keep trying to stop our President on almost everything he is doing….
Follow his money.
When Paul Ryan speaks, does anybody listen?
Why is Switzerland being so obstinate?
No one likes to be kicked off the free ride train!
What make you think they are?
The home of Davos, the WEF, the Bank of International Settlements, CERN, GAVI, and on and on and on.
Maybe Switzerland ranks right up there with The City of London, the Vatican, and DC? Thinking of it that way, what would you set the tariff at on Switzerland?
BTW, what actually is the Vatican’s tariff rate? 10%?
What products do we get from the Vatican?
Teagan: Communion wafers.
Switzerland makes a lot of bank off the globalist system currently in place; more importantly for their elite it gives them stability. This shakes that up; of course they are going to howl.
The disastrous treaty with canada and mexico needs to go the way of the dodo.
The USMCA even if it’s not renewed next year still doesn’t expire until 2036. That’s the way trade agreements work. They are basically treaties approved by all the parties involved.
It can be reopened and looked at next year. How many times do you have to be told this until you get it?
Canada has already violated the terms of USMCA. Notice the date on this article.
https://www.nmpf.org/u-s-holding-canada-accountable-for-usmca-violations/
This is why President Trump brings up the dairy issue.
If a treaty is violated, multiple times without redress, can the treaty be considered null and void?
Canada just tried to work out a bilateral deal with Mexico — to get around the U.S.. It didn’t work out they way they hoped.
First section of video.
This is of course going to make our President want to quickly make a trade deal with Canada that will benefit Canada.
The Mexicans are showing far more sense in many ways than the Syrupeans.
I don’t get it at all. Trump keeps telling me everything is down, but everything keeps going back up. I wish I could tell him to come to my county in NY. It’s Republican run and they’re ripping us off. Gas is way higher here, products keep shrinking and cost more. If you drive an 1 1/2 away to the democrat city of Rochester gas is way cheaper, selection of stores is massive and competitive pricing. They’re gouging us to death! Even our local reservation is ripping us off. These companies are taking advantage of us and we’re one of the poorest counties in the State. I believe Trump, but somebody needs to come down on these corporations that are keeping prices high and gouging us because they can!
Companies like Amazon, Walmart and Trader Joe’s work on paper thin profit margins oftentimes in the pennies on products that they sell. Theft and spoilage cut into profits, too. Right now interest rates, oil and gas prices are still high so nobody expects retail prices to fall anytime soon.
I don’t think Pres. Trump is your problem. New York CommieCrats and RINOcrats are your problem. Excessive state & local regulations and govt. imposed taxes keep businesses’ profit margins slim if at all positive. We have a similar situation here in MD though not as bad as NY.
Oops, I wasn’t trying to blame Trump, I actually blame the dem/commies and media in the Northeast for letting it happen. They don’t want Trump to get any credit. I just wish he could see why people are complaining. I don’t think he realizes what is happening in our areas.
I have no doubts President Trump is fully aware of issues in New York who’s complaining and what they’re complaining about, and who’s truly at fault. After all, he’s a native New Yorker. My guess is it’s just not high enough on the scale of issues he’s trying to juggle now for him to devote much public airtime to it.
Oftentimes, businesses in poorer areas gouge the locals because the locals don’t have the transportation or the money to pay for gas in their cars to go 10 miles away to find a better deal.
Usually in poor areas there is one grocery store, one or two gas stations, and a convenience store. These businesses are essentially monopolies.
In a more affluent part of town, the people get in their cars and drive 5 miles to save money by shopping at the competitor.
More businesses will go where the household income is high. There are more dollars available for many many businesses.
If the household income of the people is low then there is not enough money in the area to support more than one or two (rarely) of the same business.
Everything is up across the board in NY regardless of the county-except eggs. Eggs are back down.
That 59 million dollars supposed to go to one hotel owner in NYC for illegals housing didn’t happen. How many other hidden deals for illegals were squashed? Are you having to pay for that now in the higher prices you’re seeing?
Then your problem is Albany and your municipality.
The price of food sure as shit has not gone down one iota. Everything is way more expensive why? Plus, I noticed today, that the packaging of goods is getting smaller while the prices increase. Companies are definitely gouging us.
As someone who spends a lot of time in the kitchen, it’s not only very obvious that the size of items have shrunk (but not the prices), but it’s also frustrating to now follow recipes. For example, a recipe calls for a 15 oz can of something…but the cans are now 12 oz. It happens more frequently than not these days. I’m just waiting for cream cheese and sticks of butter to go from the 8 tbsp to 7 and really screw recipes up, especially in baking where measurements are important.
Teagan: Yup. The standard 1 lb. / 16 oz. package is disappearing, as is the standard pint of ice cream (now 14 oz.).
Shrinkflation
Maybe those companies funded Biden but now are trying to recoup their losses. Makes you wonder (!!!) what they thought they would be getting from Kamala and it didn’t happen.
My condolences for living in NY. Prices are down or holding in the NW corner of Ga. Lovely place to live. Solid MAGA…Come on down.
I would love to move south. Employment and family obligations are hanging on tight. Convincing my other half is impossible! Thanks for the invite!
I agree costs are not going down and sizeflation is rampant … and it is not all State and Local Tax increases.
Corporate America and their major Financial owners are part of the CORE resistance … that same group made allot money in 2017-2020 to give main street the lowest price indices in History by 2019 … before the shamdemic was used to stop the trend … the one thing the Financial Masters realized too was they were loosing CONTROL of the Global Business Corporate Business Model … hence the shamdemic and 2020 Election Steel.
Notice how NOBODY even raises a peep comparing the costs and economic environment AFTER 20 January 2020 with December 2019.
[This one President Trump’s folks need to do NOW.]
This time around the resistances is allot better prepared and deeper … especially among the Corporate and Financial centers of resistance.
The FED is doing its part to keep the cost of money high as well as contribute to neutralizing one of the major weapons used by President Trump 2017 to 2020, control over valuation of the US Dollar.
The Financial Masters are refusing to drop fuel prices below values that would actually drop the bottom out of inflation and costs.
Corporate America is also IGNORING ALL de-regulatory efforts … so far … this was a major source of the recovery 2017-2019.
The Wall Street side of Corporate America is NOT going to cooperate .. hence all the “announcements” that Tariffs = Higher Cost on the point of purchase.
It boils down to a battle: Financial Masters vs the President’s efforts to retain control over as well as protect the current Global Corporate Model.
MBA 101 used to say the purpose of business was to make money …. after 2008 … the new paradigm is the Purpose of Business is to make money via control (i.e. Reverse Fascism) over the entire chain … raw material to shelf to money used and wages. Essentially a model with near zero risk to the financial masters and governments are just agents used to control the model within national or regional boundaries.
Blue states have massive gas taxes for state and local infrastructure. You know infrastructure that never comes to fruition. But don’t worry the states will keep on increasing your taxes to enrich themselves and their donors.
Local elections are the most important.
I would agree but I’m still trying to figure out how a county of less than 50,000 has 7 county legislators. The next county has 2 for about 80,000 people. Make it make sense, lol.
My county has 25!
Newscum just raised the Gas tax 60 cents/.gallon in CA.
They’ve got to pay for the welfare, snap cards, free health care, cash gifts to the illegals and others, don’t you know: Sanctuary states are killing us.
ICE needs a battalion just to eliminate the illegals in L.A.
If that population severely shrinks– CA will revert to red.
Bye bye New-scum.
And shut down some refineries.
How much would you factor in that we have had a massive invasion of people taking freebies from US taxpayers as never before?
Same here in Pittsburgh, pa
Is your county being targeted by the Governor because it is a Republican run county? Stranger things have happened.
Government is still spending way more than it takes in with taxes; hence, inflation will be around till that is fixed. With the price of oil down, inflation is below 2%.
My hope is President Trump gets some folks looking at ObamaCare and get rid of it. MAHA with new food rules and the stopping of the mNRA killer should help reduce health care too.
You’re probably paying more for the sanctuary state free goodies to the grifters: the illegal alien freebies.
In Washington State gas is $4.69 a gallon. About .56 of that is taxes. If you look it up on the internet it indicates it is 55.4 cents plus a .5 percent privilege fee. Our property taxes have increased about 50% in the last 6 years and our insurances & electric bill has double, same for food (these may have increased by more that 50% when you factor in shrinkflation). The worst increases were during the Biden administration. Once they raise prices, they will never go down. My income is not keeping pace with inflation.
I love math class! 😂😍
Carry on..
Lol!
Interesting fact. China was on Column 2 in the tariff schedule until about 1980. Column 2 duty rates are something like 80-100%, or higher. Old school tariff policy.
How about an extra 50% on Indian Tech Workers?
Eliminate that branch of visas!
Yes. Microsoft just laid off 9000 IT workers and then wants 15,000 H1B visas.
That sure as hell is NOT America first.
I want to see Made in the USA in clear marking on every package! I don’t care where it was assembled or the corporation in TN. Bold letters and a certificate seal proving it was produced here!
Anonymousaspossible: Another pet peave is “Designed in America,” which simply means “not made here.”
Deceit.
Made in the USA needs to mean:
Made in America with American sourced products
Made by Americans.
Made and assembled are interchangeable. If you want something made in America from 100% American sourced parts then that becomes difficult.
Tariffs have been used as a way to redistribute our wealth to the rest of the world to lay the ground work for the new world order. They are good for everybody else except us. Go figure.
Now that the “de minimis” exception is gone, I hope USPS and CBP / External Revenue have a system to inform people of tariffs they have to pay, and set up an on-line way to pay.
Well, the Swiss still have their Swiss Army Knives, so there’s that anyway.

Always good with that.
If he could just get gas prices and interest rates down! Gas has been stuck at 3.30 a gallon in MI for 2 years now.
Yes indeed! The price of gasoline has not decreased during Trump’s term. Worse, the price of diesel fuel has continued to be higher than gasoline, which happened during Brandon’s term for the first time, causing supplier costs to skyrocket. People today continue to pay exorbitant costs for everything they buy. I don’t believe any of the bullshite statistics that are presented about the economy anymore, I just look at what I pay every week for everything.
Live in east Texas. Some prices $2.68, some $2.49, depending on where you shop. Eggs, dozen $2.99, milk 3.69 gallon
Meant to say gas prices on 1st set of #s. Sorry
What happens if the courts rule that President Trump’s tariffs are illegal??
Are the ‘courts’
o.k.
with a growing, unpaid,
$ 37 trillion national deficit …
or,
are unpaid bills for decades, illegal ?
hmmm…
A Swiss Miss.
These punitive tariffs on India are going to push them right into the arms of Russia and China.
India has trade surplus with US only. With China and Russia it has massive deficit. So figure out yourself if India falls into China’s Lap
India is already ‘in their arms’. See BRICS.

Over priced to begin with.

And …. I agree with you! However, expect the prices for used (I mean pre-owned) Rolexes to go thru the roof.

Switzerland is a big hub for holding, and transferring gold bars. Headline today “US slaps tariffs on 1-kg, 100-oz bars” as the article states “a major blow to key gold hub Switzerland” noting a 39% import (into US) tariff:

But, one consequence of these tariffs will be that these nations look to other nations to sell their goods. And does the USA right now have in place alternate sources for all of them?
Doubtful. Most are long term contracts. Markets are satiated depending on the country’s ability/needs/government. These are not virgin markets. Canada is finding this out right now as they have been turned away from both Mexico and the EU, especially for their lumber that they thought would be a no-brainer. Surprise! They’ve already had lumber suppliers for the past 2000 years.
So those other nations have the consumer base that could easily make up the difference caused by loss of the American market?
China is finding this out as well as others.
We are getting ready to find out. US manufacturing is going to go ballistic once suppliers see the need to look inward to the US supply lines.
Like Trump said a few times in passing,,who needs 10 dolls buy 1-2 and be happy (end not totally quoted).. The gist being we all need to get onboard to buy in the US, made in the US. Older Treepers can remember the 60,,70’s when US manufacturing was roaring.
And it’s going to take awhile. PDJT still has many more options at his disposal. We need to try and relax and get through the rough parts. After the beat downs this country has taken no one said anything was going to be EASY! 😎
Why are there no reports of the tariffs and trade restrictions other nations had on our US goods for decades?
Ultimately, someone has to pay for these price increases.
